Description:

Passion Pit - Chunk Of Change EP [2008] 1 I've Got Your Number 2 Smile Upon Me 3 Cuddle Fuddle 4 Live to Tell the Tale 5 Better Things 6 Sleepyhead Passion Pit is centered by Boston-based singer-songwriter Michael Angelakos. He originally wrote this EP as a belated Valentine's Day present for his girlfriend. She must have liked what she heard (although it's not too romantic that Passion Pit is also the name of a Traci Lords/John Holmes skin flick from the '80s), because Angelakos started making more copies of the EP and handing them out to friends and acquaintances. Eventually so many people liked what they heard that Passion Pit (which Angelakos fleshes out to a full band when Passion Pit plays live) was voted Best New Local Act in a 2008 WFNX/Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll. The original version of Chunk of Change is augmented here by two additional tracks, "Sleepyhead" and "Better Things." *** Band: Label: http://frenchkissrecords.com

don't get me wrong, i'm very thankful for this rip!
but is there any chance a higher bitrate could be upped? 192 doesnt cut it anymore... :(
forgive my snobby/cheapness...

@ thearchivist
You've got to be kidding. Try listening to music on something other than your little iPod ghetto blaster or those cheap white headphones. You are WAY OFF and shouldn't be spreading such BS.
I can tell a world of difference between 192 and 320, and the lo fi stuff you mention suffers even more at lower bit rates. And I can tell a world of difference between 320 and FLAC or the original CD. Maybe you're listening to ABBA CD's you bought at a junk sale or something, with that tinny mastering that's a waste of space at any bit rate.
Jeez, even iTunes bumped quality to 256 because dumb bells were finally catching on.

Don't waste your time with this torrent, it sounds AWFUL! It was probably ripped from some crappy 96 kbps mono stream, then converted to 192 and passed off as the actual album. There's no way this was ripped from CD.
I just listened to Sleepyhead on internet radio at 128 kbps and it sounded WAAAAAY better than this. The CD is only $6.99 online, thankfully. Why do losers waste bandwidth with this shit???
thearchivist must have balls of wax in his ears, lol.

Unfortunately, digi8boy is just being a troll-- unfortunate for us to have to read it for information only to read bullshit.
4 of the files are 320 kbps. Sleepyhead is the only 192 file, Cuddle Fuddle is 220~. And as far as I've read, we cannot even notice the differences beyond 192 with our ears. Worlds of audible difference only exist to those that care about the original recording's purity (editors, composers, and douchebag audiosnobs).

withano thanks for the post!

If you have crappy ipod ear-bud headphones you wont notice the difference. If you have stereo headphones you'll definitely notice the difference

thanks man

sillykumquat (2010-08-19)

I cant hear sound difference between bit rates? This sounds good though, and this album is awesome. If u like these guys i recommend MGMT's new album.
