looks like it :D
I don't understand, with all the available space on HDDs, that ppl are still on MP3s! Music quality is supposed to improve over time rather than diminish.

siggomar (2008-12-13)

MP3 has been such a success and it is the standard for stereo music.
I don't see the point of flac (Free Lossless Audio Codec).
In a double blind test, with very expensive equipment, no-one could ear any improvement above VBR 110 kb/s (coded with a good encoder like lame). People who pretend they can are just lying.

Well, I don't agree with you. I often redownload albums when I find them in the FLAC format. 110 kbps, no way that can comapare favourably to FLAC. The difference is not always obvious, but there is definitely a quality gain. It's really quite simple since you lose data when ripping to MP3.
FYI, here's a little test (instead of testing FLAC, he's testing ALAC tho):

Being lossless FLAC allows you to reencode into any format and quality you want plus you can play it out of the box on linux as there are no patent claims on it.

Fantastic upload, Thankyou very much!!!!!

I can instantly tell when playing music if it's an MP3 or FLAC., even if that MP3 is 320kbps.

Darksteel1335,
So you can tell whether a song is MP3 or Flac without the need to compare the two, and even if you've never heard the song before? You can just tell?
Have you ever tested your psychic abilities properly?
