It wouldn't load the authentication library and got a fatal error. Also, that file hl.exe (half life launcher) is not from valve and is corrupt followed by suspicious behavior. I found this problem in many other torrents.

Installed the game and completed it. Works perfectly. The game IS in English. When run for the first time, the resolution may be too small. Just go to settings and change to what you want. The OpenGL renderer works best for this game.

for anyone wondering, the music does work in this copy. (the tracks are included as .mp3's, unlike other disc image copies where it'll attempt (& probably fail) to play the music off the disk, similar to other old games like quake 1 & 2, etc.)
this is also definitely a full copy. i've played up to the xen level already. the only "bugs" i've encountered are ones that were originally in the game anyway.

as a side note, this game is more tedious than i remember, the only interesting parts involve fighting the armed soldiers, which is probably done better in a lot of other games. the platforming puzzles get old quick. and killing aliens gets boring b/c they're not much of a threat.
also, be sure to add the commands to a shortcut to enable the console and turn off mouse accel.
