Hot Wonder Woman, but the show really sucked

Good Show this really should have been picked up. This was an unfinished pilot and was not even ment to be seen.
I am a Wonder Woman fan and have read pretty much all her book from the 80's till now. I understand what David E Kelley the script writer was trying to do.
This was a bold attempt and the show was never ment to be judged on one pilot episode. kelley allowed for things to be played out over the season.... I am very sad this was not picked up.

This is NOT a remake of the 1970's Lynda Carter show.
This is more a comicbook adaption then anything else.
This is a TV pilot not a MOVIE so you are not going to get all the answers about Wonder Womans motives and personality in this one episode.
If you don't follow Wonder Woman comics and ONLY know Wonder Woman because of lynda Carter then you will not at FIRST be able to relate to this character as Wonder Woman.
To bad it got canceled because it could have been the BOMB

if they had giving this the fair go it deserved i reckon it would have been off the hook!!!
I love Lynda C's version , this would have garnered new fans

My thoughts on the pilot and its vision is as follows.
First, did anyone else notice early in the episode she was wearing the blue stretch-pants with red boots (many early shots were with blue boots...yuck)...and then in later shots in the episode she was in the blue short-short bottoms more like Carter and old style WW? I much prefered the short-short bottoms, sure I am a guy...but the stretch pants just do not look right on TV, in a movie, OR in comics!
Next, WW in this pilot was an enraged vigilante type that appeared to regrettably hand over a perp to cops and was ready to torture him & killed people such as the super soldier near the end of the movie which she impaled on a door or wall with a pipe through his neck. Maybe WW does this in the comics now days, I haven't kept up, but WW has always been more like Spider-Man and Batman where it was about capturing and/or getting information with a bit of a beat-down if needed, but not homicide.
Then there is the fem-nazi appeasing...some on, part of the appeal of any super hero and it worked REALLY well with WW, is the secret identity. There was no such secrecy in this concept and she may as well not even been referred to as Wonder Woman ever. They mostly referred to her as "Di", which was also not right. She is "Dianna".
Finally, the wire work for the stunts where she did big jumps/leaping was TERRIBLE. rather than a arc in a leap, it was always a flat slide sort of thing and looked RIDICULOUS.
So, before I watched this I had assumed it was the actress and the costume that ruined the pilot. Turns out the actress was just fine and would have looked and acted the part in a continuing series and this includes the costume...even the stretch pants I *could* live with, but would always prefer the short-shorts.
The real flaws that destroyed the viability of this show was:
The script and larger concept of her having no secret identity and being a sort of contradictory fem-nazi/anti-fem-nazi combined CEO of a publicity & merchandising company that exists for nothing but promote Wonder Woman.
The wire & stunt work.
There are auditions going on, maybe they've finished now for a new try at a WW TV show. At least during the audition screenings they were calling the show by codename "Amazon" and also had codenames for the parts of Dianna and Steve. But, it has been confirmed it is all about a new attempt to make a WW pilot that WILL include Steve Trevor crashing on or near Paradise Island. So, it already sounds better! I just hope the next actress is at least as good as the one in this failed pilot.

You appear to be unfamiliar with the Wonder Woman mythology over the last 25 years. Unfortunately, people get fixated by one incarnation and make the mistake of assuming every other version is incorrect.
Wonder Woman has flown and been on par, strength-wise, with Superman. Sometimes she doesn't have a jet. Her hair can be straight or wavy. Her costume has differed, even if you don't think it has. And she can live without a secret identity. If Batman, Superman and Captain America can be different (Captain America is literally a different person), then Wonder Woman can be different. Hell, her original costume had a freaking /skirt/. If you want to whine about "different", you should be insisting they put her back in a skirt. If you're okay with the shorts or swimsuit, then you can handle change, like the crime-fighting practicality of leggings (arguably, a throwback to the precedent of her 1960s jumpsuit phase that predates the TV series).
That said, this isn't a good show, and NBC was right to pass on it. Not because of the unforgivable sin of daring to be "different" and not being a predictable rehash of the past, but because it's just not a good incarnation or production.
