Description:

Big Red Racing is a racing game released for MS-DOS in 1996. It was developed by Big Red Software and published by Domark. Game overview A comical racing game. Every time a menu item is clicked, a funny phrase would play. During the races, the commentators would make funny comments, stereotypically themed to the country they are from. Customising For the driver, you could choose from a few different body shapes and change the colour of the clothes. For the vehicle, you could change the colour and decal. There were several different drivers for the player to choose from before the race. Two of these were Jake 'bad' Jackson, and Derek 'Rabbid Dog' Skimkins. (taken from Wikipedia) This is the full game. To play, you need to use both DOSBox (or another DOS emulator) and CloneDriver (or another CCD virtual driver). Also, a patch for the game is included. Not required to play.

Game took ages to download then ended up not working.. No big surprise there..
FYI I used daemon tools aswell. Game is a dud.

I just want to confirm that this works just fine on my modern ass computer. Don't attempt intsalling an old dos game on a modern computer unless you know a bit about dos or want to learn. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to install and run it after downloading.
What you need:
1) daemon tools or equivalent
2) dosbox
Mount the virtual cd image, then copy the contents into a folder on your computer. I copied it to:
I:/games/bigredracing/cdcontents
Then install dropbox and run dropbox. Once it's running you'll be in dos. Use the 'help' command to figure out what to do.
first I did a 'mount' command to get dosbox to mount the contents of the 'cdcontents' folder so that dos would think it was a cd. Then I navigated into it using dos commands (again use help) like cd x (opens directory name x) and cd .. ( goes up a level) and once inside I ran the install.exe (I think that's the one) and then I typed video to watch the video and then 'racing' to start the game.
Also during initial setup, when it is configuring your sound card just keep hitting enter so it uses the defaults and you'll be good.
In hindsight it was actually pretty easy to figure out you just have to be okay with a challenge, and use google a bit if you are rusty with dos commands.
useful commands:
help /all
dir
cd foldername
cd ..
mount
Here's a link to some tips on displaying lots on one page:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000014.htm

also just know the window is going to be tiny if like me you have your resolution set to 1920x1080. If you want it closer to fullscreen, just change your resolution to something like 800x600.
Enjoy! I may check back here and paste an actual step by step if people ask for it. It's also quite possible mounting the cdcontents folder above isn't necessary, because dosbox is pretty smart and may just let you install it and run it right from the files you copied out of the cdimage. The trick is really to navigate dos to install and run the game. Install.exe installs and Racing.exe runs it.
