I disregard this guy though since I googled his "reviews" on other torrents and was sadly amused by his peculiar comments on verified good and functional _Green Skull_ uploads, such as : "it doesnt work m8" , "u need to make it compatable with vuze" (this odd comment was on a standard .AVI torrent), and so on...

I'm certainly no expert, though crf=23 has produced excellent results for my HD-Lite goal in the past, I even used crf=25 (higher=worse quality) on the following linked rip and got excellent quality reviews, some folks couldn't believe it...

I use CRF because my personal experimentation showed that ABR no only wastes space, but doesn't provide enough quality during rapid-motion scenes.

True, though this torrent is just your common .MP4 (h264+AAC) media file. I simply state that, optionally, one may use multiAVCHD software for easy AVCHD conversion; the AAC to AC3 transcode done by multiAVCHD takes very little time. The major plus is that the video does Not need to be re-encoded to true 720p (takes long time, reduces quality, etc.) because this torrent is already in the true standard NTSC 720p size.

You must be thinking about the keyint_min parameter, which I've set to 24 btw. I've checked other famous scene uploaders files and they use keyint=24 or 25 and keyint_min = 240 or 250.

Yes, I was considering raising this to 6 or 7 on future uploads of 720p content, although I recall reading that some cheesy hardware Players needed 3 max. I'll research this again...

This won't be expanded to high file size unless, again, one is converting to AVCHD with multiAVCHD software, which means you'll have an entire DVD-R worth of free space to burn (so to speak).

Excellent research, thank you. I'll likely increase ref from 3 to 5 on my next upload (non-tech translation: more starting points when the viewer chooses to rewind or fast-forward, which is good).

Quite right; I am referring Only to my Video stream, not audio or subtitles, and there's no misrepresentation intended. I will strive to me more specific in future descriptions. I chose AAC audio because it's the most space efficient and because most downloaders will be watching this on their computers, media centers or media players, not on BluRay players (avchd capable); so, the latter group, being in the minority, shall be content with the trivial effect upon audio quality from converting AAC to AC3.

Well, I actually don't have an intended target Size, just an intended consistent Quality; the resulting file size is inconsequential. Also, the number of movies one can fit on a DVD-R is of far lesser concern to me than the consistent Quality of my rips.
