La storia inizia con una bambina, Sheeta, che per scappare da un gruppo di ceffi intenzionati a catturarla scivola dalla sua aeronave e cade dal cielo su un villaggio. Durante la caduta una misteriosa luce avvolge la piccola e improvvisamente questa inizia a galleggiare nell'aria, fino ad atterrare dolcemente nelle braccia di un ragazzo orfano, Pazu, durante il suo turno in miniera. Maggiori info su http://colombo-reloaded.org The history of this alternate world is hinted at in various parts of the film: Laputa, in ancient times, once dominated the world in a hegemony, presumably of other aerial cities (suggested by a woodcut-like piece in the opening credits or scenes), and may have had a rotor on its bottom and other rotors on its side.
