About 8 months ago, I created a torrent of the top 125 hip-hop songs. It was thrown together quickly and from a small collection of mp3's. Over the course of the last 8 years or so, I have lost my music collection many times. After some praise and constructive criticism, I spent many hours creating the top 250 hip-hop songs. Thanks for the big ups everyone. I created this torrent so that people could get a taste of real hip hop. Not a perfect list by any means, and though I did not expect to... I am going to be releasing a Top 750 that I have been working on, and this list really is the shit. If you think this list is great, you will love the next one.

great effort! however a more appopriate title for your torrent would be "500 of the best rap songs" i'm not cool with one white dude putting together some rap songs and calling them the "top 500 greatest hip-hop and rap songs"

Good effort but you're missing ALOT. Where are: AMG, King Tee, Alkaholics, X-Clan, Da Brat, Too Short, Tim Dog, Kool Moe Dee, 95 South, 69 Boyz, Nemesis - it seems Florida was COMPLETELY forgotten - there was also NO ONE from No Limit on there and they banged the charts all through the 90s, Da Lench Mob, The D.O.C.??? I could go on for days about the stuff you're missing - most of which I suspect is a matter of your region and/or age...
Also, I love 2PAC but he doesn't deserve to have every track he released to single on here. I also disagree with quite a bit of your placement of certain things and/or artists but that's a subjective matter...it IS, after all, your creation and you're entitled to your opinion.
