Some movies have .idx and .sub files wich combines subs for different languages - you have to manually activate the eng./etc. subs. If the .srt/.idx/.sub file(s) isn't/aren't named exactly the same as the avi/mkv/mp4 file(s), it is better to rename them to match with the avi/mkv/mp4 file(s).

@vincevinceagashi if you knew HOW TO READ which clearly says ENG SUBS at the top you wouldn't be complaining
