the good and the bad:
the horace silver stuff is all great, well encoded and very listenable.
however, the cecil taylor record is really painful to listen to. it's probably because the record is sparsely arranged... a trio with all the members panned out, so joint stereo with a generic encoder kind of fucks things up... every time the drummer goes for the crash cymbal, it decays into this digital mess that distracts from the skill and beauty of the players.
so grab the horace silver stuff. avoid the cecil taylor record in this torrent unless you've never heard the artist and want an idea of what he's about.
