this movie was an extremely intense thriller. not that much gore for a horror flick and not a predictable ending, either. a/v 10/10 movie 8.5 (personal opinion and i'm very critical, so 8.5 is really hi for my ratings)

I gotta see this again. I saw it years ago at the dollar theater, I went in blind and it was a pleasant surprise. It's rare to see a mainstream torture movie that has the balls to show you something instead of leaving 90% of the torture off camera. Everything from Saw 1&2, Hostel, Grotesque, to Human Centipede wimped out hard. The Collector comes out of nowhere and pulled no punches, it was as close to exploitation or even modern underground horror as you can see in modern Hollywood horror.
