Sviatoslav Richter - Beethoven and Brahms

Richter's legendary 1963 recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 23 (Appassionata) and Brahms' 2nd Piano Concerto. This was the first recording Richter made when he was finally allowed to travel to the West. After you hear it you can see why it caused such a storm. The recording is very good for its vintage and the performances are electrifying.

Just noticed the 2nd movement of the Beethoven Appassionata... the last few seconds of the movement are missing, cut off, kaput. Shame, but still worth the download, even if only to convince you to get the CD.
The other six tracks seem to start and end properly.
Looking at the little spectrum analyzer on my Winamp. On the loudest passages of the concerto and the sonata, there is very ample headroom, audio-level wise. Clean.
No, but seriously, if you think Classical is for Sleeping, just try this CD. If there is a slow passage that seems to be making you want to pull out your hair, there is no law against skipping ahead a minute, or even jumping to the next track. Enjoy what you can -- you?ll be amazed.

i'd like here to aptly negate Nei1's comment;
the second movement of appassionata goes straight into the third. and saying Richter needs more practice? for serious?
