The Top 675 Hip-Hop/Rap Songs of All-Time: Here is my final attempt at putting together the perfect hip-hop collection. First off let me throw the disclaimer out there: I am a hip-hop enthusiast, not an expert... so of course there will be some omissions BUT give credit where its due and respect all the hours I put into this. I am a 21-year old east coast hip-hop head, and as I am growing older and more disillusioned with the current state of hip hop I began to dig deeper into its history. The past few months i have been researching other hip-hop collections, best-ofs, and top lists, and using Wikipedia to learn about a lot of great hip hop groups. As I was growing my own personal collection, I started picking out the definitive classic joints and beloved favorites. Within this collection I feel I have taken a slice of the best material from each region- East coast, west coast, down south, mid-west, etc., as well as from old-school, to golden age, to contemporary eras. So keep in mind all the work that went into this, and the simple fact that it is pretty damn challenging to put together a good representative torrent that covers an entire culture, 25+ years of music, and an entire country! Very good overall. It is quite apparent just how much work went into this. My one and only complaint: You are missing some serious gems by, for example, Common, yet you have a song like "Hey Ya" on there. This is not so much of a rap/hip hop list as it is a rap/pop list.

I'm an old skool emcee and this right here is a great torrent! I only wish you would have included E-40 and Mac Dre. What they have contributed to the west coast and hip-hop worldwide is phenomenal. Mac Dre gave us the hyphy movment and E-40 is a pioneer in ebonics, slanguage, or hip-hop dialect as I like to call it. Without E-feezy ther would be no fosheezy, fashizzle or any other variation thereof.
