For anyone having trouble with this one I recommend the larger 4GB dvd rip version, watched it last night and it was perfect, it also obviously has the proper subtitles hard encoded to the disc image too.
Good film, not as terrifying as some have made out, but it was something a lil different.

enjoyed this a lot. good scary movie. made me jump a couple times, even though it was obvious something scary was about to happen. the home camera style built good tension. i would highly recommend this.
the rip quality is great for both audio and video.
the spoken language is not English but the subs worked fine.

Very good movie indeed man. I love the way it was filmed and everything. I hadn't read the comments when I first downloaded it, so I didn't expect it to be a zombie movie at all. It's very original for a zombie flick though, but I can't wait until Diary of The Dead comes out.

never could get the subs to work but found a copy with the subs hard coded into it. I was very impresed. It was a really good movie. Scared me a few times and that is not always easy to do. I don't like to read my movies,ie subs, but this movie is more than worth it. Great horror movie and I recomend it to all who like the zombie type movies.

The American remake comes out in Oct. It's called Quarantine. New actors, but is a point-by-point remake. They aren't changing anything other than the actors.......somehow I still think they'll screw it up. This movie rocked. I'm glad I saw the original first.

For the record.....
Spoken language is spanish, there are english subtitles in the accompanying .rar file, there are no hardcoded subs.
You will have to rename the sub files, so that it's the same name as the .avi, so that your converter/media player can pick up the subs.

The sutitle file AND movie file must be in the same folder.

Then go to:
http://subscene.com/default.aspx
search the film
download the file
(you know what to do)
go under video in the 'toolbar' in VLC
click subtitles track, then load file, find the subtitles file. Play movie and enjoy...

CRAAAP! I just downloaded this by mistake. I searched for “rec 3” and looked for releases ~700MB and did not notice that this had “2007” in the title. I just wasted 700MB downloading the first one which I have already seen. Now I don’t have enough bandwidth left until the next billing cycle (which starts on Monday) to download the correct one (and who wants to/can watch a horror movie on Monday night?)
Why the hell did this show up when searching for “rec 3”, when there is no “3” anywhere in the title‽ :-|
