the game loads up to the options screen with sound and when i click new game the screen goes blank with no sound and just sits there, I met the system requirments for this game. will not be seeding until I can get this to work

I've got the same problem as Jimmyjock. Once the game loads and you press New game, the screen goes black and stays that way (I've waited for about 10 minutes and nothing).

I had the same problem with my screen going blank. I searche the developes page and found this patch. Then it worked just fine.

Norton's heuristic virus detector is calling it a high security risk? I'm not inclined to believe Norton, especially when it's "heuristic" ... but still.. anybody else can confirm?

Works great for me, using win 7. This is what game torrents should be like! Just download, install and play! Sure, I don't mind unzipping, mounting or cracking, but it's way better when it's quick and simple like this. Thanks for the upload!

The black screen is because it's default resolution is set to 1024x768 So another way to fix it if you don't want to patch it is after you install it go to the games into directory, mine is C:\Program Files\Games\A Vampyre Story, then open the other "Game" folder inside and you'll see a notepad file called "Game". Change all those default 1024x768's to your normal resolution and should work fine.

Same problem as in first and second comment (I am using Win 7). Click on 'New Game' and you just get a blank screen. Tried the patch, and changing the screen resolution. Still no joy. Never mind, there are plenty of other games to download from Wendy, and there usually isn't a problem.
