I just started the game to see if it works and it does. What this torrent does is unpack into the full game which is 15 gigabyte (how they crammed it into 5gig I have no idea). It seems to works so far but I haven't really tested it much so I'm not sure if bugs or crashes occur, I'll keep you posted.

I got the install done just fine. What am wondering now is why it crashes as soon as I start any Campaigns. My computer is fine..runs games like Fallout 3 with no probs. It took around 10-15 minutes to install.No need for any cracks , or fixes.

i just played your save game completed the fight it then went back to the map telling u u can change tax or what ever it was
i just skiped that bit a video started playing
then it went to a new fight starting the next level
so for me it worked fine i would just like to say that the loading screen did take its time to load like 5mins so just let it finish

Hi, i downolad it and when i try to install it (tried both your installer and unrar manualy then run ~unpack~) keep getting this error : "this application has requested the runtime to terminate it an unusual way".
Choosen directory for the game is created, so as subdirectories such as video/data etc , but there is nothing in them. Can anyone, plz, help ?

hi like anory 190 said it all worked well the your installer didnt work for me on xp, fully updated, but the winrar way did, perfectly, the game took 20 mins or so, and worked well, but during play the letttering goes missing then comes back all by itself, for the messages, dunno why a bug possibly, then sometimes when your trying possibly to do to much to quick it crashes, also when you target in the naval battles it crashes, but other than that it works fine, nice job guys

I have same problem as yegyyr. Cant use installer , so i done it mannually. I can go to main menu , chose nation , but when battle or a campaign starts loading , my game crashes. I am using pirated xp.

Fix hasnt helped me. installer now works , but when it unpacks data something seems to go wrong with data4. It tries to unpack models , and after some time message appears "this application has requested the runtime to terminate it an unusual way" and quickly scrolls back to the end of installation. I also noticed there are no models in my game folder it is only 11 GB.
How do i extract those files manually ?
Already tried universal extractor , but it gives me an error msg when i try to extract any of those files.

Finally managed to start my game and play.
For all other ppls having same probs with installer as me here is what I did:
1.Unrar archive
2. Do NOT use unpack , instead download FreeArc 0.5 alpha -> http://freearc.org/Download.aspx
3. Extract every arc file manually using FreeArc
4. Combine all extracted files together and enjoy your game !

@Bobsuga, from watching unpack (command window) doing its thing it looks like it rebuilds all the game sounds also. i would be suprised if your method works without running it at some point. freearc can extract .arc files using only 512meg of ram wile the one kaos uses needs 1gig sometimes more to extract, so that could be the cause.

Drivers are the latest (182.08 march 3rd). Not sure what else is wrong. Could try re-extracting everything again. To "reinstall", I just delete the files from the folder then re-extract?

Everything works fine for me, however, there is no text or numbers what so ever. And no signs for example when opening a diplomacy window, there are probably more faults, however i haven't recognized them yet. There were more faults from the beginning, and missing files seems to be the problem, because i combined my ETW files with ones from another torrent download which only kind of installed half the files, and it seemed to cover up for it because it run better next time i started it. Might something have gone wrong in the installation?

Strangest thing just happened... I copied the entire install folder elsewhere as backup before I re-extracted it... and it works from that folder now for some reason. The battles load just fine now. Well so far so good anyway. The only problem is apparently dual monitor setup.. my mouse goes to my other monitor when I move it to the edge -.- Oh well.

@enddodays i think u will find the problem is with your pc as most of us can at least extract the game. if you had read up there is a solution to your problem, the arc used in this rip becomes unstable on odd/unlucky systems. just replace the arc.dll with the one in the link and data4.arc should extract.

It fixed my impassable crash after the battle of bunker hill.

I had to manually use an extractor and extract to where I extracted empire and then ran setup.bat. The installer didn't correctly apply the fix.

manually extract the patch files. If I remember right there was only two inside the .rar.
Extract to the same directory where you extracted the actual game to. Then run the unpack.bat or setup.bat (whichever it was) from the fix .rar that you just extracted in the games directory.

Great upload ka0s. The game works fine - the fps isn't exactly what I was hoping for on my computer but other than that its all gravy. One more thing...You can't view the replays unless you are logged into steam. I wouldn't recommend doing this.

RAs86 .... I installed my version to my C: games folder.... just navigate to where its installed on your drive and right click to delete.....mine was 15gb and it just says too big for recycle bin ...so you permanently delete it. I screwed up my version with a mod.......so am dling again ...

When I first clicked on the "Install.exe" it popped up with a green box showing where it was going to install, but i wanted it to install in the appropriate place, I.e. program files>Sega>empire total war. so i created the two folders (sega, and epire total war) well now when i click on the .exe again it fuckin shows up with a little white box about 2 inches wide and a quarter of an inch high.... Saying "Executeing KaOs UnRaR" WTF?? I've tried turning of uac and all that jaz nope, i reinstalled the .exe.. nope still not working Please help??

I just registered last night but I was able to play this game for about 12 hours (yep pro no life) straight without ANY CTDs or errors. I'd hate to tell people this but if you really just use the auto-installer, let the installer sit there and then play it when it's 100% done (do not click at all when the command menu pops up (black box that installs the game) - you really won't have any issue.. unless your graphics card cannot handle it.
On another note, 219 seeders (on the description) yet I was stuck with 25/219 for over 2.5 days with an approximate 100~ k/b dl speed, yet I was uploading at about 500~ k/b speed. I plan to seed over the night as it is a shame that such a good torrent, and a good game, isn't really supported as it should.
O.T I control all of India right now and I make like 20k profit a turn (management is so much fun in Empire Total War than Rome Total War lol..) it's a great game, hands down.

Great upload. Installation was easy.
Game however gets boring eventually. Medieval2 had more action and variation in unit types( unit effectiveness, counter units), effective cavalry charges and overall better action.
Still its a good game if you like the total war series. Naval warfare.... meh

Hi everyone!Ive been using thepiratebay for some time, but only now i registered so i can ask/share some things.I've dl-ed this rip, since none of the other packs worked for me but i encountered the same problem:whenever i want to start a battle (in campaign map or just a custom battle) the game loads half way and exits with the white screen and send/dont sen error.The thing that bothers me that in the campaign map, my unit (an army or an agent) does NOT have any texture, it appears as if its made of mud (just a brownish form).I've searched and seems more people had this problem,and the most common answer was "Let STEAM update your game and restart!!".Because i was curious, i,ve dl-ed the steam demo,and well that one works like a charm.Now i'm trying to reinstall manually this one,maybe the installer missed something,since many people here can run the game.I just want to ask you guys: has anyone else had this prob?did you manage to fix it? I THINK i've found the problem:since i've kept my old installation i checked the pack files:the models.pack in the old one has 3.99 gb, but when i open data4.arc with freearc,it says 5.09 gb, so i guess here's where the missing textures got lost.i didnt manage to unpack it yet, i have only 1.5 gb of ram,as soon as i'm finished i'll let you know what happened. Apparently it's with any game type, starting battle always crashes. Isn't a problem with specs though, even reduced graphics to see if it would help... WHO, AoC and all other games run perfectly with maximum graphics though.

There are two things the installer installs:
-Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 Redistributable
-Latest directx
If you dont have the Microsoft visual..bullshit in your program files, then that means it did not get installed, hence the crash.
Download it from microsoft, and should have no problems.

Everything installed fine for me, but the game would crash every time I attempted to actually launch a mission. It didn't matter whether it was a tutorial or any other type of mission, I got the white screen crash with the Microsoft send/don't send error report screen.
I had the game in a subfolder of My Documents, so on a whim I tried moving the whole install folder to the root of C:\ and that did the trick.
So, if you keep getting crashes when trying to launch into a mission, try moving the installation folder.

Hey I cant thank you enough Bobsuga in the 2nd page, Finnaly got it working about about 5 hours of work.
If your having problems game crashing on start-up or kaos installer failing while in the prompt try this:
1.Unrar archive
2. Do NOT use unpack , instead download FreeArc 0.5 alpha -> http://freearc.org/Download.aspx
3. Extract every arc file manually using FreeArc
4. Combine all extracted files together and enjoy your game !

So I went to extract this piece of trash and first tried uisng their stupid ass program. The stupid ass program failed.
So then I went to unrar the god damn thing, which takes forever of course. Then I ran their installer thing or whatever, and the thing screwed up midway something about invalid command or something can't remember and I'm trying to forget everything I can about this worthelss torrent already.
Thing screws up my harddrive, can't be sure atm. It does half-assed install of the game that immediately crashes when I try to play it.

yoooo guys please somebody read my problem !
here it goes ::
1: at first i just installed the game and it went fine with no problems , but when i start the game it just goes fine till the main menu and i just want to start a battle ; so i clik play battle etc - the problem is that the loading screen just stops and then it says stopped working
2: second problem : when i open the campaign map it goes fine , but when i am in it every character or model on my campaign map is dark red or purple. And when i try to start a battle in the campaign it just loads till 40 procent and then crashes.
Some information to help me solve this problem :
- graphic card: Point of View 9800gt ddr3 1024 ram
- my ram is 2,5 gb ram
- proccessor : amd athlon dual core 3800+

I must be one of the lucky machines because it works for me. Haven't tested it for very long but so far no crashes or bugs. I guess only time will tell but here is how I got it to work.
- Unrar manually (extract to a folder specific to Empire Total War)
- Run the batch file called 'unpack' (it indeed will take some time)
- The game is going to extract to the folder you had originally extracted to (step 1).
- After it unpacks the .exe called 'empire' is your ticket to the game.
If something fails it's most likely your hardware or SOMETHING on your end; the torrent itself works. Try re-downloading the game or better yet just buy it.
I'm running Win XP SP3. Thanks gansuk for the upload and all who participated in cracking this game.

The game hasn't crashed on me yet and seems to run fine but for several sound issues. It seems like it skips during melee battles and 'pops' at other times. That ruins the experience for me.
I am aware of a fix for this but, on my machine at least, that didn't do anything for me. I tried other torrents as well but they all failed.
Updating is virtually impossible; the only way seems to be through to Steam which none of us can obviously do. Torrents are available that contain these updates but getting them to work is more than a headache. The version KaOs gives you is the very first release it seems; obviously this release doesn't contain any fixes so gameplay is affected.
Moral of the story? If you're THAT interested in the game, shell out thirty bucks and buy it. This way you can update at will and play the game w/out any problems. Unless you have lots of time on your hands this game isn't worth the trouble. I still appreciate the attempt though, so thanks to all who've tried!!

Ive noticed some people have alot of trouble with the installation.. I myself was quite worried when I saw all the different files and comments. However I've installed the game in 1 try and no problem with anything so far (been playing for about 5 hours now). Ive actually created this little account to explain in few simple steps so everyone can enjoy!
Step 1
Download:

Comment: Let me be clear; you absolutly dont need anything else then these 2 downloads! no hotfixes, no bugfixes no other vague rars.. nothing! These files together will give you a working version of the game ver 1.5!
Step 3
Load the iso's with Daemon tools (or any other image mounting software). Note however that the instalastion will ask you a few times to locate the mounted disk, do this every time and it will continue installing. After a while it will obviously ask for disk 2, if so mount disk 2 with deamon tools and again locate it when the installer ask for it.
Step 4
This is the one most people seem to forget.
On the first iso (empire_disc1) there is a folder named razor1911. Copy the content of this folder to your install path.
To clerify: copy not the folder razor1911 but all the folders and files inside it to the folder where you installed empire total war (example: c:\Empite Total war).
You will be prompted if you want to overwrite the files, press "yes to all".
Step 5
Now open the update folder (from the second torrent I stated here) and copy the rzr-etw8.exe file to your empire total war installation folder. Then execute it. It will now start to update your empire total war files.
Step 6
Now that you have updated, run the file install.redist.cmd this file will be in your installation folder.
Step 7
Final step! Now put the Empire.exe file from the update in the installation folder and overwrite the existing one.
(you can find this exe file in the second torrent I linked)
Step 8

This Rip didn't work for me. The arc files were always corrupted and didn't unpack properly no matter whether I unrared them manually or via install. It seems easier to just download the .iso. They probably messed up with the install configuration somehow and so the Rip doesn't work on all machines. Be advised.

But you need at least 20 gigs of free space

14.5 gigs for the game itself
I'll write down the steps in simplified form for the many pitiful idiots
1. Extract the rar files, just open 1 rar and extract to a folder that will hold 15 gigs
2. Open the unpack and let it list down the files slowly (Unpack is in the folder you extracted to)
3. And then.. wait for the unpack to finish, it will take a shit load of time 1-3 hours even
Also make sure the hard drive you are unpacking in has more than 15 gigs free
Or all that wait is put to waste
After that finishes you simply open the exe and BAM you've got it
If it gives you a black screen or flashing "black and white"
Well sorry but you dont got enough specs
Meaning you dont meet the requirements
So google the requirements before downloading
The requirements to this game is rather strong
Skipping this might make you hate Empire Total War for a long time

Hey. Any idea if this is corrupt? My PC is quite functional, and everything seems downloaded. But when I try to use the installer for extraction it always pop up with a Windows error message, and when I extract the game with the unpacker manually, it spits out a lot of errors (AND it'll finish the extraction in less than 10 minutes).
A lot of the final data is missing in the folders. In fact, everything but a few files in the "campaign ..." folder is missing.

hey falterfather813 all you have to do is google search the exact name of the dll file and it should come up with a download link. download it and put it in the same folder that the Empire.exe is in. It should be fixed now and if it asks for more dll files rinse and repeat till it shuts up. All you have to do to uninstall is to delete it. Since it is self contained it wont show up in the control panel. If someone is having problems unraring then just leave it up to the program already there. Even though it takes a long @ss time it should work and if it doesn't then Im sorry I dont know where to go from there. Hope this helps people

I think it's safe to say I will never use a KaOs torrent if I see one. I downloaded this and it took me an hour to get it working and when it finally started it froze on the title screen and I had to shut down my computer. I downloaded the Razor .iso version and it works like a charm. No freezes, no crashes, and the installation even went by faster. KaOs claims they are not noobs, but they sure don't know how to make a torrent the right way.

Wow, I just realized this torrent is only 5 Gigs and the working one is 11 Gigs (like every other Total War games). I have downloaded and installed many torrents and this is the third one that does not work, all of the ones that have never worked has always been KaOs torrents. I think all they did (and it shows with their others) that they just remove certain content to make it a smaller size so more people will download it because not many has fast enough speed to download the real 11Gig one; and of course the people being stupid download this and complain about the constant crashes. Mind you, I did download the fixer (made it worse) tried everything I could before I posted those comments. KaOs is rated one of the worse torrent providers for a reason.

For people having the problem of the "Empire.exe" file not opening again, here is a solution that worked for me.
1. After exiting the game, go to your Task Manager.
To find:
Right-click on the task bar ----> Click on "Start Task Manager"
2.Go to "Processes"
3. Find "Empire.exe *32"
4. End the process
Now you can click on Empire.exe and the game will run successfully.
Do the process again after exiting the game.

So i downloaded this. Unrared manually, (because my first attempt with the original "install" didnt work) and installed to the default location. I tried the game, and it crashed. So i downloaded the patch and patched my files. Still a crash. I then set my graphics as low as they could go. Still a crash. Ive run this game on this same computer and it ran fine, and ive downloaded torrents before so i know what im doing. Does anyone have any ideas on what i should do next? PLEASE HELP! This is my second attempt at installing the game. I use the built-in installer. Both times the same thing happened. I try and run the game, and a white screen comes up. After a while the cursor will come up as it should be in game. Then, still on a white screen, it will say that an error occurred and the game has to shut down. Could somebody please help? It works fairly well ... But several things left to be desired ...
- Sound does not work 100% fine. During battles in the footsteps of the soldiers and horses are not heard (while walking ... when they are running, yes, the footsteps are heard) ...
- The interface seems "stuck" in one place ... If you change the preferences (for example, if you choose NOT SEE flags in battle), you're going to battle ... and you can see the flags, as if her is no important you have chosen otherwise ...
- Also has some small graphical bugs after each battle, where nearby cities appear within square incomprehensible colors ... And sometimes, in certain areas, just click on a certain character for the game is completely closed. ..
- And finally, go pretty slow (even with intermediate graphs), when it should go much more fluid in an acceptable machine ... A pity, because the game is fairly complete, but that play tired, and it can be disappointing
