Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire: Contains the original Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, plus the expansion Alien Crossfire. This release does not need to be burned to CD. It is complete with all music/voice/movies and works flawless from the hard-drive. Manuals from the games are included as pdf files in the game folder. Have fun with this classic! Install notes: Extract the rar archive to a folder of your choice. You launch the game from axstart.exe. You can also run Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri from terran.exe or Alien Crossfire from terranx.exe.

Great game. As a sidenote, this cannot be used to install the Linux version of SMAC, since the installer checks for files in the CD packaging (be it actual cd or mounted image).

I have always been looking for Alien Crossfire for ever and now that I have found it it wont load. I keep getting a message whn I open the file that contains the download its keeps saying that it does not have enough memory to process or some shit like that. Help?

Dunno what's causing the problem... Running XP, have the needed computer stats, but SMAC gets a critical failure on launch and SMAX says I need the right CD inserted. Went and got the XP patch and the update for SMAX to the latest version, same results. Am I doing something wrong?

Great game and excellent upload. I've been running this on Win7 (x64) for 15 hours straight without any issues. No hack, no cracks, just double-click on terran.exe or terranx.exe and away you go....

Works good on a standard distribution.

If the game is launched from VirtualBox, enter the fullscreen mode for the game to work.
Otherwise it crashes during start.
My previous comment about the "winxp black edition" was wrong. The only thing that matters is the fullscreen mode.
