As with most Clone DVDs, this release does not include a modified exe with copy protection removed (aka crack) but does include a seemingly untouched image of the game DVD.
Although Bethseda hinted that the game will be DRM free, it does not appear that way. SecuROM DRM seems to be bundled with the install process of the game (which is similar to that of Oblivion?s) but in a much less intrusive scale than other DRM enabled games such as Spore or Mass Effect. Perhaps Bethseda had a change of heart when the XBOX360 version of Fallout 3 leaked around two weeks before the release date :p
The inclusion of DRM however means that pirates who download the Clone DVD will not be able to play the game unless a scene group such as RZR, RLD, VTY or an individual such as DarkC0der releases a fix that removes the protection.

There is nudity, you just have to have another version than the US and Aussie one.
Oh and yeah it's using SecureROM, so you have to wait on a NoCD path or crack or this game will not play, at least you will have the game, but you can install it or play it without a crack.

The US version of Fallout 3 is not censored. There is no nudity in any of the versions as Bethesda didn't think it added to the Fallout universe and such. They only censored the drug names, changing them from real life drugs and they made this change to all versions.

There are only 3 seeds for this right now and 4577 leechers. If you don't have any seeds connected, the download will stop around 11.1%, because that is all most seeders have.
Look at the Availability bar in uTorrent: if it is at not at 1.0 or above (mine is currently .112 or 11.2%) then you will not get it fully downloaded until a seeder has connected.
Be patient. Those 3 seeders will eventually get it fully downloaded to more people and hopefully those people will be kind enough to seed it.

The reason that you get to about 12% right away if you start downloading now, is that those you are connected to have downloaded that much. Since there aren't any seeders available to most of us we can only get what is available atm.. As soon as the amount of seeders increase we'll all get good DL speeds again.

Someone bought the retail version and here's what he said:
"It has been confirmed that on the retail-DVD release of Fallout 3, it contains an aggressive form of SecuROM. (Aggressive in the sense that even the INSTALLER must pass the disc authentication check, which failed on my fathers machine, even with the original disc in place.)"
So we'll also need a crack for the installer :(

Well I'm at 71.2% and crawling with 0.1KB/s-1.0KB/s. Up to this point I have seen the torrent run at 600KB/s to 30KB/s but now It's just crawling.
I also have the Reloaded release torrent running and it is at a steady 15KB/s - 50KB/s.
I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong but this is taking ages. I have my Utorrent program using a port that is forwarded properly, I don't use a firewall and so I'm wondering if anyone has something that can help.

well there is fallout3.exe but its termed as a "security catalog" not as an application... after i mount the iso, double clicking on the launcher tells me that the wrong disk is inserted, plus wen i double click the .exe i get a load of weird security files :S

There is no setup.exe to in order to run the installation. If you use the reloaded launcher you can get to the installation screen, but since the setup.exe is missing you cannot continue

Well GBW have a crack on there with a Fixed Fallout3.exe so im gonna try that first and then tommorow im buying the X360 version which i originally planned to do anyway.
And as regards pirating games then perhaps if the money grabbers didnt charge so much for there warez then maybe more people would be able to afford them.
A game like GTA IV sold millions uppon millions and i doubt that 100000 or so illegal downloads will hurt them that much after all 90000 of those people wouldnt have bought the game anyway. Think about it.
I do agree though that supporting companies like Bethesda is a good idea because they make quality games and we need them to keep creating quality games.

Here's how to get it working.
1) Copy the contents of the .iso to a directory on your hard drive.
2) Create the registry key HKLM\Software\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3\
3) Create the registry value "Installed Path" inside the Fallout3 key.
4) Set the value of the "Installed Path" to your fallout3 directory, i.e. "E:\Games\Fallout 3\". No quotes, and it won't work without the trailing backslash.
5) Download the reloaded cracked FalloutLauncher.exe from GCW and overwrite the old FalloutLauncher.exe
6) Download and install the Microsoft Live redistributable from here:
7) Download and install this DLL and put it in your Fallout 3 directory:
Congratulations, this will work now :)

Ok kiddos, here's the way to make a candy out of this shit. :)
1) open regedit, create this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3
Add this string value there: "Installed Path", put ".\" in it.
2) Download and overwrite the "fallout3 english nodvd" fixed exe (the launcher, google it). No need for any image files.
3) Run the hacked FalloutLauncher.exe
4) ????
5) PROFIT!
^ that to your registry.

The "specific" "driver" is part of your usual fresh DX distro, I last updated it in August... Also you can simply look it up online, in case DX distros killed your hamster before or something :)

Im off to play :) Just a quick note. I needed the launcher crack from reloadeds crack and also the fallout3.exe from the crack from trivium.
Ill post detailed noob instructions later on the registry part if people have problems still.
Just make sure you use those 2 files and if after you get the launcher to load and it wont continue then try just loading the Fallout 3.exe. Goodluck and ty for the help guys and BooRabbit. Weldone mate and you almost gave some of us a heart attack :)

Just getting off work so I'll make this quick, I may have to finish when i get home.
click run, type regedit, hit enter, HKLM = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE keep hitting the folders until you get to a point where you can't find and add it yourself (example /fallout) right click the last folder you got to (example software or something, im in a hurry :>) then go to "new" then hit "key" then once you get to the end of the folder list in tha folder hit "new" DWORD value, name that w/e he said and if you have to add a value double click the DWORD and type 1, I don't have time to check what he posted, hope this helps despite the half-assness of it.

I had the same problem, delete the directory My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 (it stores your preferences and saved games) then try again. Worked for me!
Directions for creating the registry key:
1) Start->Run->Type in "regedit"
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3) Right click on the Software "folder" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and select New->Key and name it Bethesda Softworks
4) Right click Bethesda Softworks and do New->Key Fallout3
5) Double click the Fallout3 key you just made
6) Right click anywhere in the right panel and do New->String value and name it "Installed Path" (no quotes)
7) Right click the new Installed Path value and set the value data to "E:\Games\Fallout 3\" or whatever your directory is, no quotes and don't forget the trailing backslash.

Well just got home, I'll see if I can get it working on my machine once its done transferring from my laptop to my main computer. I'm kinda glad I had been simultaneously dling the Reloaded version that is about halfway done now.

Ok did everything right with the registry as well as pu tthat .dll file in the fallout 3 folder, I also installed the microsoft live .net framework or whatever its called. Ive tried using multiple variations of cracked .exe files and im still getting "Fallout does not appeared to be installed and the installer could not be found. Try exploring to your DVDrom and clicking setup". Also when i try the fallout3.exe file it shows it to be loading (Cursor Timer) then that dissapears and nothing happens.
Ive quadruple checked everything with the registry and its all correct, im running xp i believe 32bit

Holy shiesser! It brings up the play button now! Ok so anyone having the problem I had try downloading that pack that flickflackbay so kindly provided us with and like the other copy the fixed falloutlauncher.exe over to your game folder. Then it looks like he made a registry file for 32 bit and 64 bit users so depending on what you have copy that file into your main game folder then double click and it will add it to the registry destination you created. I did notice that under the Value he set it as .\ instead of the destination path of the game. I didnt change it I just made sure that the registry key made it into the fallout 3 folder. Good luck to anyone else having this problem, and thanks again flickflackbay!

@anonymous57 use the Cracked Exe file from the trivium crack thats posted on Piratebay. Just use Fallout3.exe from the crack. and backup the original just incase. I had the same problem btw if you read back in here.

I did ur toturial (flickflackbay)...i had the problem where my fallout laucher said:"cannot find steup.exe obn the cederom plz try exploring ur cd and run the setup.exe"
after ur tuto the laucher detect my compu specs but the game have never been installed and the laucher just write:"play".....
whenever i want to install it the game ask me for my e-mail and whenever i write it and submit the "status bar" stop a three squares and jam right away.....
i close the e-mail shit and then he either returning me to the launcher or its closing it!!!!
any genius idea on how to ****ing install the game????

I would also like to note that looking at the startup of the game (when you are born), and the doctor says "Now are you a boy, or a girl?". I have noticed that it's a male voice and yet in game there is a female nurse in front of me. This leads me to believe that for some reason the animations of the NPC's are not loading properly, or for some reason are delayed in movement.
So far I have...
1. unpacked the ISO into C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3
2. created a registry for fallout allowing me to launch but not play the game (details on how to do this in previous comments).
3. downloaded flickflackbay's fix.
4. flickflackbay's fix includes a fix for xlive DLL issues, I had to use that and also had to find the dll (xinput1_3.dll) and place it in my folder for fallout 3 (C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3)
5. Lastly I added flickflackbay's crack launcher for the game.
Some help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

yo guys, in the beginning of the game it used to freeze after choosing gender, but then i got a savegame from a friend exiting the vault, and that way it worked perfectly. until now at least, cuz when i'm in the citadel asking paladin gunny how to wear power armor, nothing happens, i can no longer move, and i cant do anything, but it doesnt crash.
please help me. I think the patch might help, but it doesnt work with this version!

Ok, so I have downloaded many copies of this...Skullputura's etc. I have tried all working cracks and fixes and I have even gotten a very clean install (basically legit install) with mounting RELOADED's ISO in DAEMON tools and I have tried different drives....but still it stops after picking Girl/Boy...registry is fine, .NET 3 and LIVE installed....game works great up to that point (I am referring to the basic unBethesda patched, torrent versions only) but I CANNOT GET PASSED THE F'n Girl/Boy part at the start...I cannot even play to figure out if I wanna throw down 60~70 bucks on this.
On the 'clean' install I did, the installer reported that Menuvoices.bsa, Textures.bsa and Meshes.bsa are "to large" compared to what the installer thinks they should be and further stated "file may be corrupted, contact your software provider"...yeah of course this is gonna happen if someone changed the file size when ripping or editing/cracking, but I think this is what is causing the Boy/Girl hang....something in the sound files or one of those files is not reading out to the game right or the game can't find whatever file "Dad" needs, so it just sits there..it could be an internal bug but EVERY install I have tried that has had the Boy/Girl bug trouble (no version has gotten past it for me) has the same file sizes and thereby the same issue.
If Skullputura's latest 'non-ripped' torrent wasn't corrupted I could see the 'non-ripped' file size of those .bsa's and compare. I think the original .bsa files are needed for this and other ISO's of the Eng version to work..then apply crack. I should mention my version of windows is not GA certified at this time because it was compromised sometime ago and I have not gotten it fixed...but I doubt this is the reason the game is not working; if the proper install method (running setup.exe from a drive) doesn't work and says the files are to big, that sounds just like what would throw the game off from locating the correct files to use while running...and that the cracks out there right now aren't working around that.
While it may be a bug in Bethesda's code, I rather think it is the ripped/corrupted size of the .bsa's that are the problem.
Anyone know of a work-around for this Girl/Boy issue? Someone able to seed a saved gamed right after the issue..pretty please ;)?

OK retarded people this works perfectly. I have been playing for the past 3 days on it already beat the game. It has the dlc but it dosen't work :/ so just download the dlc from another torrent. But it never crashes on me.
I gunna tell you what to do. you need Utorrent, Daem tools, and this torrent. First download all those things, second go to daem tools should be a white circle with a blue lighting bolt in the middle, then hit Device O: [H:] No Media on daem tools, then search for the fallout 3 file, after that click it then go to my computer, when there click on fallout 3 it should be there, then go to the downloading, when the downloading is done then go back to my computer and click it again it should open there you have fallout 3.
