ignore what i said above, i figured it out, its because i had nero 6. something installed, anyway a more appropriate question would be how do i know if this "activator" really worked and in 15 days ill still be going and it wont all of a sudden let me know my trial has expired?

Ok, so I d/l the trial of Nero 8.3.6 and installed. I then ran the Activator (which went so quick it almost seemed like it didn't do anything). Restarted the PC and booted up Nero. All seems ok, however it crashes within a few seconds of opening the 'Launch Nero Applications and Tools' menu (the little red and white flame symbol in the bottom left). Just a standard Windows error message saying Nero has encountered a problem and must shutdown etc. - Anyone else had this or know what causes it? I'm thinking it's more to do with the trial download or installation on my system. Selecting any of the options on screen (create audio disc, create data disc etc.) seems to work fine though. Very odd.
Also, when I check the 'About Nero' info, it says I'm running version 8.3.7.1, but then below that (under Name and Company) it states Nero 8.3.6.0 - is this normal?

What's wonderfulI also had the same situation have been where my smart start center stopped responding but overall it works wonderful because I don't even use that I just use the Nero vision for making movies without having to reformat a file with another video converter

I've had Nero 8.3.6 for a year plus and this fixed it.
I'd talked to lots of people, they were all out of ideas. Tried many fixes. Nero Vision was busting My Chops, dragging along daily. "No More" , This works folks. No more slow program. You are the Best. Damn Man, Thanks.

I created an account JUST to comment on this torrent. This thing is AMAZING! Not only did it crack the activations, the programs are actually FASTER than they were before!!!
Here's how I did it:
-Installed version 8.3.6.0 of Nero
-uncheck NBKEYSCAN in MSCONFIG and rebooted.
-Used Windows Firewall to block Neropatentactivation.exe ( I would have blocked Nerohome.exe and Nerosmartstart.exe but I don't use either one of them, hence, they weren't installed)
-Then the final step I got from a buddy.
::C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
Edit the HOSTS file with notepad and add the following line.
127.0.0.1 activation2.nero.com
I was able to use everything accept Nerovision. So I ran this. Flawless copy, no reboot required!
