When you copied the request code into the Keygen you missed the last four digits, the copy paste function wont copy that last part for some reason. Don't worry, just manually type it in and your good to go. If you need a serial number to change it to, use 666 12345678

i have encountered the same error as zeek2freak
with as wel the trial as the retail version.
During installation you can't enter any serial nummer.
when activating it shows a to be replaced serial number (wit request for confirmation) of 000-00000000 wich can't be activated.
than entering any of the suggested serial numbers in the keygen or anywhere else doesnt change the given request number :

Finaly got rid of the "REQUEST CODE ERROR!" some people must have thought it's something only happening to dummies.
Once you got it, you must remove all references to old 3d max versions and autodesk in your registry (both keys and values) also references to the viewer and backburner.
Than when you reinstall you must change your country references during the instalation to the USA.

Hey no problem to everyone who commented. A couple of things to clarify for some questions.
A) If you have having trouble getting the activation to work make sure you try to type in the whole code, a lot of people missed my first comment and it is giving them a headache.
B) There is no need to post both files separately: download the torrent and select which files you wish to download, excluding that which you do not!
Anyone having any trouble or needing some help can shoot me off another comment or and I will do what I can.

4) Select register product
5) Choose your country

11) you will now see at the top the serial is 666 12345678 and the request code will be there.
12) Launch the keygen you downloaded
13) !IMPORTANT! TYPE IN THE REQUEST CODE THAT IS DISPLAYED AS IF YOU CUT AND PASTE THE LAST SECTION WILL BE MISSED OF GIVING YOU AND ERROR IN THE KEYGEN!, click calculate
14) Copy the Auth code the keygen gives you and paste it into the registration code box provided my 3DS Max 9. Click next.
15) Congratulations you are now the proud owner of 3DS Max 9 fully functional.

you shouldnt get the request code error, just alot of ppl miss of the bottom 4 characters of the rquest code meaing you will get the error thats the problm when you cut and paste it doesnt cut the last for characters. but at least it worked in the end

I have a completely different problem though guys. Max was working fine for ages then when working in it a few days ago it came up with a random error regarding the software lock, then it keeps telling me I have to reactivate. Then it just continually asks me to reactivate and I'm completely unable to use the program. I'm able to bypass it for varying amounts of time by importing a license from my old laptop but that means repeatedly reformatting the laptop and reinstalling max. Anybody else had this problem?

Hi there, I am having some problems. I got these files from a friend who downloaded this torrent, and in the file list was a Crack and directions to use it. The crack is Autodesk 3dsmax 9.0 -X-Force, and the directions included a serial code 666-66666666. When I put it in, it gave me some BS about it being a popular pirate code, and wouldn't let me use it. The problem is, I can't go change the serial code anymore, it remains 666-66666666 at the top with a bogus Request Code, and anybody help me or tell me how to change the serial?

This works perfectly.
If you bell ends are getting an error in the keygen make sure you have spaces seperating the character groups.
There might be a newer registration screen than what the instructions here say but don't worry about it. After I entered 666 12345678 for the serial the next screen asked for my name, email, phone; I just cancelled out of that and restarted 3Dmax, then when I got back I selected 'enter authorization code' and used the 'paste' option because I didn't know how many characters to put in each box the other way. It worked fine the first try.
Also, some of you seem to have problems with the materials, when you first install and get to the tab with what you want installed make sure you click each tree node and select 'install all' (some shit like that, it's the second item from the top), that will get all your materials in there.
When using this product try not to spend much time creating models of dildos.

Thanks for the awesome torrent - can't wait to use it but.......
I use the 666-12345678 serial, restart, type entire request code into keygen, generate auth code and paste it into max - no good!!
I select the "paste" option and then control+v to paste in the code. I press next and get an error message. If I go back, my code has been split into 8x4 blocks, and switching to "type" instead of paste puts the code in the first 8 boxes (4 digits each) but leaves the last 6 boxes empty.
What am I doing wrong here? Is there a better paste method or is my system just screwed!?
Any help much appreciated.

after 2h of diffrent combination . reinstaling (registry clean etc.)
probably solution : (works on my pc)
domcument n settings / all useres / app data / autodesk / Software Licenses / *.dat - DELETE IT.
after run max will generate diffrent activation key.
use classic keygen. and wow!. :)

dedo- are you able to find the folder that the dat file is supposed to be in? the -application data- folder is a hidden folder, if you navigate c\documents and setting\all users\ and then click tools up on the top bar, then folder settings, in there is a "view" tab, click on it and scroll down to find the "show hidden folers" toggel
also, to activate, you must put in a serial other than 000 0000000 in, i used 226 19791979 from vektorjunkie

To get it to work on a 64bit System you need to install SP2 for 3dsm from here (download the 32-bit service pack)
when you type the Request code in the Keygen make sure ALL the numbers (copy and Paste leaves off the last few digits) then when you activate use 666-12345678 as the New serial code, and Paste in your Authcode from the keyen in the Activation code section of the form.

For some reason the copy and paste function don't work so you need to type it in instead, then press calculate and you will get the Auth Code.

So there you go: delete
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Software Licenses\*.dat
Restart Autodesk3DSMax9 so it will ask you for serial after it prompts you that you've deleted that file :D and it will ask you only for country (you should put US there!!) and the auth.code witch you'll generate using max9keygen.exe :D
and remember to submit a 7 group of digits/letters whent generating the auth.code! :D Good Luck ;)

1) Download both the Keygen and the trial version of 3DS Max 9 from meltdowns torrent.
2) Install 3DS Max 9
3) Launch 3DS Max 9
4) Select register product
5) Choose your country

9) close 3DS Max, then relaunch it
10) Select register product

-Go to 'Customize' menu at the top

Vista users download the 3ds servicepack 2 at autodesk website(its a free download!!).
First install 3ds9 then service pack 2
then run 3ds
start 3ds9

choose country

then enter a activationcode you made up
3ds says it has a invalid activation code
close 3ds9
start 3ds9 again now your code 666-12345678
is showing at the top and the reguestcode is showing to.
Write down your requestcode (dont copy and paste it because that wont work because the regkey program gives a error!!!)
start the 3ds9regkey generator
type in your requestcode!!!!!!(no paste remember!!!!!)
now you get a activationcode
copy and paste it to the registerscreen of 3ds9

i just upgraded my harddrive and uploaded an disk-image from my previous system-partition.
windows and all other programs work fine, only max gives me a licence error now and says i have 7 more days to use the product. i tried to authorize it again with any code it gave me, but it won't work anymore. uninstall and reinstall didn't help either.
then i read in the autodesk-forum that the max licence is so deep inside the system that it even refers to the original hard-drive when it was installed, which is not the case now, because i upgraded my harddisk to a larger one.
does anyone know which registry-settings should i kill or other files, so that i can intall it again without having to reinstall the whole system?

ok, i found a solution.
as soon as you exchange your harddrive your licence will void. so before you change anything export your licence with the portable licence utilty to another computer. be careful to use the right hardware-ids, otherwise your licence will not work. then after installing your new harddrive you can port your licence back to the first computer, using the new hardware id.
this is the only way i found so far. you can also always create a new licence on another computer and port this one to the computer where you need it. of course max will not work on the computer anymore where you created the licence.

If your getting the Request Code Error in the keygen your not adding the last four digits. The spaces are taking their place so just delete them out and add the last four digits.
Also if your getting the Actvation error its cause you didnt select United States as your country during installation. I reinstalled picked the US and everything worked fine for me

The instalation and registrating part is ok but I get alot of bugs after that. first it wouldent start, missing .dll file. when I had that one taken care of, 2 new problems began. missing .bmi file(that one I have solved) but now I have only one left. al the viewports are F.u.c.k.e.d. they take the pictuare of whatever was the last piture behind them. so I cant create anything. the prog runs, and I can use all buttens and stuff, but as the viewports are showing the piturare of the prog laying under it, or the desktop its useless. I am running XP pro s2. anybody got an idea?

I'm having the same problem as jayfenney!
"Max was working fine for ages then when working in it a few days ago it came up with a random error regarding the software lock, then it keeps telling me I have to reactivate. Then it just continually asks me to reactivate and I'm completely unable to use the program."
I can succesfully install it and activate it, but after some days (or even hours), the license voids, and asks me for reactivation.
The weird thing, is that this one works fine on my desktop, but in the laptop, the license fails randomly, somehow. I'm guessing it's a dual-core issue, perhaps? I've done it all, tried different keygens, formatted, reinstaled, deleted license files, followed guides, instaled updates (Service Packs), etc. But the license keeps on crashing. It ain't fun to reinstall 3Ds every week.
Anyone got this working? I reaaaaaaaally need this to work!!
BTW, got the same problem with 3Ds 8. Weird, huh?

Hey you guys struggling out there with this - it is EASY - TYPE your activation code into the keygen and TYPE the activation code using the serial number 666-12345678, oh and the 14 boxes for activation codes are just a clever ruse by Autodesk to convince you that you need more stuff than is provided by the keygen...seems to work well with some of you teehee. Seriously - don't stress - also I have found that using the first activation code offered by any keygen is not always a good idea - try pressing the calculate button 5 or more times and using the latest code it gives you. 2) Install 3DS Max 9

guys, If you have any problems regarding the license and activation use the following:
1. go here "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Software Licenses"
and delete any .dat file (you'll find more than .dat file if you have more max versions installed)
2. run max and activate again
3. be sure to copy and paste the whole request code to the keygen
4. click on calculate button on the keygen
5. copy the auth code from the keygen and paste it in 3dsmax dialog box.

I don't have a 2 lines request code... Is a fully one line request code !
However, I've tryed to copy, manualy copy, delete and retry but I got the same error :

I've tried pasting so many times too, I succeeded only in typing, no problem with 14 boxes, you don't have to fill them all up, just what the keygen gives you.
But first I would delete the dat files from "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Software Licenses", there are two files there. After this, your request code will change, enter his new code in th kg,comment right away for the result,br

Stand Alone. I forgot to tell you that it is a hidden file , you have to go to Tools on your computer, it's right above your monitor ( not in Iternet mode) click Folder options, View, show hidden files or folders, then go out again ( hope for success!!!)

I go the authentication code, but everytime I open up max it asks me to activate - and gives me a different request code which means a different authentication code.
Any ideas?
Why doesn't it just remember the first time I activated it with the 1st request and authentication code???

you forgot the beginning, the serial number is 666-12345678, and the request code use two lines, so you must take care when copy, and space well the serial code, the activation that the KG gives you always work fine.... usefull

Ok, I've been trying this for the past 3 hours.. could anyone -please- help. I installed it several times and entered in the serial "666-12345678" and also set to "United States." Afterwords, it says "Verifying License" and has been deleted.(due to trying to get this to work) I selected request activation - which is the only option - and then my serial is set to "000-00000000." Which is odd, but I just shrugged off as of now. Next, I've tried over hundreds of Request codes and NONE of them have worked. I've tried ctrl+c and ctrl+v (Copy and Pasting) them into the keygen, and making sure it was 24 letters/numbers long. This did not work. I've tried writing it in manually, hoping it would work... this did not either. "REQUEST CODE ERROR!" was the keygen's favorite line towards me. Having a headache now, and just wanting this program to work so I could begin working with it, all I ask is that could someone, ANYONE, please help me with this problem? My current settings are:

i downloaded everything, installed it, but the guide says that upon entering a registration window should pop up. it doesn't. when i go to "activate product" in the help drop down there is no space to type in the serial key, therefore i can't change the number on top. it's default is 666-66666666. furthermore i also get an error about failure to backup save or something like that, so i always have to save manually or close it, and the animations refuse to render, it says there's an internal error. my system requirements are fully supported. if you have the patience to read all this please help me =)

I used the serial code 629 12382931, and went through the walkthrough that randevengfulx74 posted, and all his further posts.
After a couple of days using 3Ds MAX, when I tried to open 3Ds MAX a licensing error appeared, so I reinstalled the program and once again I used the serial code 629 12382931, this time I used the activation code that I gained from the keygen when i first installed the program and ran it through the keygen for the second time, and successfully activated the program.
There is also another serial code 666 12345678 that revengfulx74 suggested to rideru.

I found that the 629 12382931 code does work. When you're given the request code, type it all into the keygen. Don't copy and paste. -went insane figuring this out- And I was given this code: HUH6NCFC247XFH59 VPC1GGCQKZFYV7Y4.

For those with the activation problem. Make sure when you copy and paste the Request Code into the KeyGen that you have it all in the box, the last part of the code cuts off. Put anything like "666-12345678" into the Serial boxes then paste whatever Activation Code you receive from the KeyGen in.

Ok, I've tried everything and it still doesn't work. Every time I start the program a VERIFYING LICENSE window start up and it tells a License error has occurred. So I have two options, run the program before the license expire (a couple days) or Activate the product.
When I choose Activate the product, I have two options, I can either Get an activation code or I can Enter an activation code. So, when I write down the Request code in the keygen and paste the code in the Activation Code back in 3ds Max, everything appears to work, the Activation is confirmed. It looks like there is an issue with BOOTCAMP on MAC that NO ONE has been able to solve. The KeyGen instructions don't work, it always check for new licence.
I had to install 3ds Max 2010 to work because it has a different crack, not a keygen based but a DLL based, i only had to replace the adlmint.dll file on the root folder. The issue is that no one had developed an DLL crack to 3ds Max 2009, just a stupid keygen engine that doesn't work on BOOTCAMP !!

I did have an issue with it stopping in the beginning with error that says says 3d max has stopped working the application failed to initialize properly(0xc0000005), for those of you that get this error, right click the icon; go to properties; compatibility; click run as administrator; apply; and close. Now seccond thing is that i have Windows 7 64 bits.
and i have managed to install this and make it work and everything. I even managed to fix the DLL error by downloading an update.
NOW the main question is when i start the 3d now it dissables the windows 7 desktop bar from Aero to Windows 7 BASICS .... is this harmfull for the windows ? and is it possbile in any ways to convert the 3D s max to 64 bits or fix this problem ?

I had just one problem during registration so I want to share my xp... it can't harm anyone, and something that can't harm can be useful :)... I launched 3d max, I chose activate (register) product and blank register today window appeared so I couldn't continue. Next day I solved the problem. Download and run MicrosoftFixit50195. With that tool reset internet explorer setting and next time when you launch 3d max register today window will not be blank.
BTW the register tutorial below works 100%

If you're having trouble with your Material Library being blank, go to:
C:/Program Files/Autodesk/3ds Max 9/MaterialLibraries
and copy/paste all those files to:
C:/Documents and Settings/USER NAME/My Documents/3dsmax/MaterialLibraries
Then restart 3D Studio Max and all the materials will be there.
(I think you can also assign to a new Material Library folder from within the program, but this way was simple and it worked for me so I thought I'd pass it on.)

It worked after some effort (I have Windows 7 Ultimate-64bit) Here is how I did it:
1) Download torrent and then extract to a folder on your desktop (this is what I did and it worked like that).
Then do as here:

2) Install 3DS Max 9
3) Launch 3DS Max 9 (For this to work properly you will need to select task as system administrator and set compatibility to "Windows XP Service Pack 3", you can do this by right clicking on the 3DS icon, then go to properties --> compatibility etc)
4) Select register product
5) Choose your country
6) In the serial key boxes enter this 666 12345678
7) write anything into the activation code box.
8) click next, you will be told it was invalid.
9) close 3DS Max, then relaunch it
10) Select register product
11) you will now see at the top the serial is 666 12345678 and the request code will be there.
12) Launch the keygen you downloaded
13) !IMPORTANT! TYPE IN THE REQUEST CODE THAT IS DISPLAYED AS IF YOU CUT AND PASTE THE LAST SECTION WILL BE MISSED OF GIVING YOU AND ERROR IN THE KEYGEN!, click calculate
14) Copy the Auth code the keygen gives you and paste it into the registration code box provided my 3DS Max 9. Click next.
15) Then it will open, but, will likely come up with Error 998. If not your version is fine. But if it does just download the 'Autodesk 3ds Max 9 Service Pack 2' from this link:
16) Install this as well, congratulations you now have a working copy of 3DS Max 9 ^__^

I downloaded this torrent nearly 5 different times now, hoping that the problem was just misdirection or something.
Well, going through the 22 pages of comments, I didn't find a single one with this particular problem so if someone has the time, I'd like help.
The keygen that is downloaded with the torrent doesn't work.
It doesn't open, doesn't copy, doesn't move. It can be selected but other than that, it's almost as if it doesn't exist. Of course, without the keygen, I can't finish the directions.
If nobody knows how to fix this, perhaps someone with a working keygen can just give me the code.

hello all just a note as this was happening to me if the welcome screen freeze's on you just do a Google web search for * 3dsmax9_sp2_32bit * and download and install it will fix it I'm running windows 8.1 64bit hope it help's any one that is running in to this ...
