I had to convert from AVI to MPEG and i can watch the film with no problems.
Excellent Quality.

Maybe your player need some codec. Try with BSplayer. I use only Windows media + K-Lite Codec Pack and have no problem watching movies.

just use VLC to watch it.. it can read pretty mutch every format
