To the guy that's confused… When this show started, the TV season was almost over (it ends in June and begins in September). So technically, only the first seven episodes are considered to be season 1. See the Family Guy episode list for example. Either way, I agree with the Cartoon Network and go by the "Production Seasons" as the true order.

yep confirmed, from season 2 - 5 american dad torrents mostly everywhere r all labeled incorrectly, when it says its says s.2, actaully 3 n 4 is 5, 5 is 6.
not sure about the last 3 seasons. this all happened due to season 1 being cut in half to make season 2 we know today. season 1 was only 7 episodes. u have to dl some of the torrent files first before working out anything, very annoying, anyways. enjoy
