Sigh* so im guessing it was hacked? "Trusted" my ass.
The file is a Virus, it works right up to the load screen where a "Warning" box comes up and reads:
"Unknown Excretion Occurred. Something has gone terribly wrong. Attempting to crash gracefully. Hopefully a file called_crash.sav will have been saved."
But nothing happens....sigh* epic fail, much?

Coagulation, a crashing application is not the same as a virus I believe... Anyway I'm downloading the game now and I'll let you know my experience.

I'm using Vista, and it crashes like you mentioned. I did get it to run in the safety mode or whatever, but I quit before actually playing it because I want sounds and good graphics.

I can run the game on the highest graphic settings, but I can't have sound. Enabling sound causes a crash after the title screen.

I was able to play with only the music disabled. The sound worked fine. The music is not very exciting anyways. If you want to hear it just play it in the background or something. The files are in the \gamedata\sound\music
The problem seems like a music file is missing, so when the game trys to load the music it crashes.

this game works perfect ok its a straight 1:1 copy from my original cd done with alcohol120% burn to cd and play get a grip people if u a noob and just learning dont bad mouth my torrents they all good u guys just need to learn more thats all

I take back everything bad about this File it does work and has been scanned with 3 diffrent virus scanners it is not a virus and works great

Works fine on 7. Just got to disable the untick the box for "No Sound" under configuration, otherwise it crashes on load

If you're running this in Windows 7 or Vista, Be sure to disable music.
