I got it to work never mind. Thank you SO MUCH. I had to use the link provided in the start menu to create the new shortcut for some reason because the one I was making was pointing at the wrong executable I guess. Try that if you have the same problem I did.

Need help...without applying the crack the app opens as unregistered version... with the crack I get error as the app is outdated and closes. Ok, so here is what to do if you have windows 7. This wouldn't work for me, and I tried and tried, drove me nuts but I got it.
Steps:
1: After downloading HDD Regen turn off wireless assistant to ensure no internet signal (disconnect from internet), Install, but do not launch at finish. Next go to the start menu in the bottom left corner and type this in the search bar, type "firewall" and hover over Windows firewall with advanced security and double click it. Once there hover over outbound rules on the right side of the box and click on it. On the top right side of the box after clicking on outbound rules there will be an option to add a new rule, click on it. Once there check program and hit next, than click "select program path" and than browse. go to "My Computer" and click on C drive, go to "Program Files (x86)" and than find HDD Regenerator, in the file double click on HDD Regenerator exe. You are now done ensuring that HDD Regen will not call home for updates. Now for the next step.
2. Go to the crack file from the download and copy the 2 "exe" files. Go back to the C drive and find HDD Regenerator again and paste the 2 "exe" files and copy and replace both files. After this DO NOT delete the shortcut on the desktop and replace it with the cracked shortcut. DO NOT do this because the cracked shortcut will not open consoles.
3. If you have set up the firewall properly you may now turn you're internet back on. You are done.
Because I replaced the shortcut on the desktop every time it would never work and it became very irritating to find the problem.

By the way, if you fuck up and leave the internet on, you have to close HDDRegen, and than Ctr+Alt+Del and go to process and end all HDDRegen.. and Shell.. processes, than you go to the file HDDRegenerator and rename it to whatever, preferably "hdd" and than delete the whole file. Than you can reinstall it, the first try it will ask you if you want to repair it or whatever, just remove it, and than delete HDDRegen shortcut on desktop... after this you can retry downloading it again making sure you're internet is not connected

What a circus with all these gimmicks. Is it to hide the silly cracker who took essential parts of the installer off? Why did he deleted the screen with the choice for the install location? WHAT FOR silly boy? To correct this stupidity, I installed with the original installer and dropped the cracked files afterwards. The installer did not need to be modified this way.
And it is not necessary to do anything to the firewall. What for, after the program is installed? And not before because it is enough to cut the PC from the internet during the installation.

It does work, you have to go to C:WindowsSystem32DriversEtcHosts , open it in notepad and paste this in a new line: 217.112.40.112 www.dposoft.net # Regenerator
Then the program will probably run instead of just giving update messages from the tray. You still have to block it in windows firewall (I couldn't, the 'advanced security' has some error) or keep internets off

The torrent works fine.
Key points the ip address used in the host file to block internet access for the app has changed. The newer ip address to use is "217.112.33.19".
Secondly, if for whatever reason you can't get the program to work and you need to try to reinstall it be sure to use the program "hr2011.exe" program to remove/uninstall. Using control panel to uninstall will not always work. Provided the HDD Regenerator is already installed, Run "hr2011.exe" and you will see options to "Modify" "Repair" "Remove", select remove to completely remove the application.

Ok, so here is what to do if you have windows 7. This wouldn't work for me, and I tried and tried, drove me nuts but I got it.
Steps:
1: After downloading HDD Regen turn off wireless assistant to ensure no internet signal (disconnect from internet), Install, but do not launch at finish. Next go to the start menu in the bottom left corner and type this in the search bar, type "firewall" and hover over Windows firewall with advanced security and double click it. Once there hover over outbound rules on the right side of the box and click on it. On the top right side of the box after clicking on outbound rules there will be an option to add a new rule, click on it. Once there check program and hit next, than click "select program path" and than browse. go to "My Computer" and click on C drive, go to "Program Files (x86)" and than find HDD Regenerator, in the file double click on HDD Regenerator exe. You are now done ensuring that HDD Regen will not call home for updates. Now for the next step.
2. Go to the crack file from the download and copy the 2 "exe" files. Go back to the C drive and find HDD Regenerator again and paste the 2 "exe" files and copy and replace both files. After this DO NOT delete the shortcut on the desktop and replace it with the cracked shortcut. DO NOT do this because the cracked shortcut will not open consoles.
3. If you have set up the firewall properly you may now turn you're internet back on. You are done.
