first time I runned the program I forgot to unlog from internet I think because I am getting error 16. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it after deleting everything I got relating to virtual dj on the computer...but its not working. Now I've looked at the comments and people seems to be talking about reg entries that need to be deleted before reinstalling but I dont understand...I must be newbie to this kind of language because I really dont know what to do..

Hey, RH, thanks for the torrent, you always provide great stuff.
I disabled updates and internet connection just as instructed (and I had my internet shut off the entire time). All was running fine until I changed the skin I believe. Now I'm getting a Protection Error 16 just like a lot of people and haven't been able to fix it. I've tried deleting all registry entries. I've tried doing deep scan uninstalls with Revo Uninstaller program. Nothing seems to solve it. If you know of something else I can do aside from reformatting, any help would be appreciated.
Either way, I appreciate all your efforts.

Ok, So I was pulling my hair out over the protection error xx issue and how to reset it.
I am a competent PC user so logically I removed all installation files, removed the Virtual DJ profile folder, and then scoured the registry for all references to Atomix and VDJ and removed all the values.
THIS DOES NOT WORK! (a good idea though guys)
I never found out where the file protection was stored, BUT I did discover that
IF YOU DO A SYSTEM RESTORE BACK TO BEFORE YOU FIRST INSTALLED VDJ it WILL reset the protection. I recommend you first uninstall VDJ completely.
Once the restore is complete, just reinstall VDJ
BUT...
This time don't do whatever it was that triggered it. For me relying on windows firewall to block internet access ;-)
I'll repeat as I'm sure this error is gonna annoy many people
TO RESET THE PROTECTION ERROR SYSTEM DO A SYSTEM RESTORE TO BEFORE YOU INSTALLED IN IN THE FIRST PLACE

Remove The registry entry--

Uninstall Virtual DJ
1- Delete C:/Program Files/VirtualDJ
2- Delete "C:/Documents and Settings/*Owner* /My Documents/VirtualDJ
-3 Delete all other VirtualDJ folders
- Delete these Registry Keys :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDJ
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VirtualDJ

If it works for you as well....spread the word. :-)

One more thing.
Before installation - disconnect.
After installation prevent VDJ from accessing the internet using firewall.
