yea, im new to this myself. I have previously downloaded 3 files.
1.rosetta.stone.v3.german.level1.iso
2.rosetta.stone.v3.patch
3.rs.3.0.57.update.exe
so anyways, im not quite sure if i was supposed to download all of those just to run the german level 1 program. thats as far as I got. i am so lost.
i tried following the directions- and i got to the point where it says mount the file.

I don't have it installed yet but for all the newbies I believe here is how to do it. This is like an addon for the Rosetta stone software. You need to download a copy of the Rosetta Stone application first,
Once you have that installed then download this german addon pack. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but hopefully it helps all the people out there that don't know what they're doing.

Ok I to am a newbie. I downloaded the german level I, II & III iso's and used MagicISO to burn them to disc. I installed the V3 app, updated it and did everything that everyone is talking about but yet the program does not recognize the language CD's.

For those that are new to this....
I've spent the last couple of hours getting all this up and running on my PC, so I'll do my best to explain how to do it.
1. First you need the Rosetta Stone v3 application:

Install the program, and remember where it is (should be in C:\Program Files\Rosetta Stone\Rosetta Stone V3).
2. Then you need the NEW patch for Rosetta Stone v3.2.11 :
GO TO: rapidshare dot
(just make sure you substitute the word dot for an actual period, with no spaces before or after).
Sorry about the craziness but the spam filters here would probably junk this comment if it has an outside link....
Anyways, download that file unzip it and drop it into the folder that Rosetta stone is installed in. double click the patch file, then click the patch button in the open window. It should say everything is good. And then you are done with getting Rosetta Stone installed and also getting around the product key crap.

Now for the language files...
3. Download and install the free program DAEMON Tools Lite, explanation of what is does below.

once you have any of the language files downloaded (preferably .iso files) you will need a way to get Rosetta Stone to "see" them. An .iso file in this case is basically an exact copy of the Language CD. DAEMON Tools is a program that acts essentially simulates a cd/dvd drive. By that I mean that with it running and pointed to an .iso file (called Mounting), it will look like you have another CD drive in your computer. When installed you can mount the language files that you downloaded so that Rosetta Stone thinks that you have the proper cd in your cd/dvd drive.
With DAEMON Tools installed you should run the program, this will put a small red lightning bolt icon in your system tray (normally in the bottom right of screen). Left click the red icon, then click on the empty device. A dialog box should pop up asking you to point it to the .iso file that you want to mount. once you have located that file and clicked ok your computer will show an additional drive and once you start Rosetta Stone you should be able to select the add a language option and it will install all the necessary files.

If you're having trouble with this, you need to download the actual application, this is NOT the application, these are just the language files
to use these, you must load the actual .rar that you download with daemon or whatever else you're using, then simply add a language inside the program, and it will auto install.

Alright, I'm on a Mac, but as far as I know Rosetta's ISO's work for both Mac and PC.
I'm having trouble getting Rosetta Stone to read the mounted ISO, for any language.
I've downloaded the main Rosetta Stone application, the patch/update, and am using Toast to mount the language's ISO file. But Rosetta Stone's not reading it. I've even burned the ISO to a CD, but still no luck with getting it to recognize the file.
Help plz?

You get every language in an iso file. No Extracting, all you have to do is burn it to a disc with PowerISO or Alcohol and it autostarts when you load it. You can also mount it to your virtual drive. It comes with all the help files, language sheets, and even a bonus language program. Works perfectly. I got this about a year ago and I love it.
Oh, and only 3.62 GB, so it fits perfectly on a DVD, or takes up as little space on your HD as possible. Trust me, this is the easiest way to go. I tried torrents like this, and the set up and installation alone was the biggest pain in the a...With this, no installation is needed.
The file is in ISO format. You don't have to install the program to your computer. You can use PowerISO to burn it to a disc, and it will autorun on your computer anytime after you put the disc in. Or, if you don't want to burn it, simply use the "Mount" option in PowerISO and choose to mount image to drive [E]. It should then open up the file folder with RS in it. If it doesn't, go to "My Computer", right click on your new (E) drive, and click run. That's all you have to do. Rosetta Stone will run on its own, no installation needed, no extracting files, it is all self-contained. You will see every language, all you have to do is choose one and off you go.

I don't know if anyone else has had this issue...
When I installed this language pack (it was the first language pack I installed after installing Roestta Stone v3.4.5) I chose a different directory to the default as the location to install the language. This stopped the speech recognition working as it did not install the files. I received error 1129. If anyone else is having this issue, this might be the cause. You must use the default destination (this can only be set on the first language install).
