The Cossacks series has always been noted for having a large number of units on screen simultaneously, and that all are controllable at the same time; this game is no exception. The limit of soldiers that can be used at the same time is 64,000, a large number, compared to other real time strategy video games. Only Rome: Total War or Medieval II: Total War can come close to this number, with ten thousand being the maximum number of soldiers usable at a time. In the game, there are two different modes, single-player, and multi-player. In single player, three different modes may be played: campaign (tutorial), Battle for Europe (turn-based, much like Risk), and Skirmish/Historical Battles. After installing 1st part on 52.9% it says insert cd 2. What should i do? First burn cd 2 files on dvd and then insert it when its asking to n press ok?

Hi all.. Can some one please hep? I have downloaded and installed this game and patch 1.2.
I have a vista home basic service pack 2 os. After installation i changed the compatibility mode to run as admin. Now when i start the game with/without disk mounted on demon tools nothing happens a few secs of black screen and then it says color system changed to vista home basic.. After that whenever I start nothing happens not even a black screen..

guys i installed the game and the patch v 1.2 but i have a problem
when i run the game it says something like "engine.exe detected a problem. ur agp aperture size is too low. it has to be above 256mb" or something like that
how do i fix this?

For all of you having issues like AGP aperture size or anything on 64bit, these french guys made a fix.
Go to:
Click on: "Télécharger le fix"
unzip the file to your Cossacks II/Data folder.
run: startengine.exe

I used WinCDEmu for mounting the iso files.
During installatin when asked for Disc 2, just eject the first disc and mount the second disc with the same drive letter as the first.
After installation, don't run the game. You need to apply the patch first. Found the patch here:
