VirtualDub Release build -- 1.7.7 (stable), 32-bit version

Start up VirtualDubMod, click "Video" at the top and
then click "Direct stream copy".
Now go ahead and click "File" at the top, then
"Open video file..." and select your first .avi
file you wish to join and then click the
"Open" button. (Click "NO" if it asks you
if you want to rewrite the header)
After it is loaded, click "File" at the top, then click
"Append segment" and select the 2nd avi file or the file
you want to join to. Repeat this step for each
avi file you wish to join.
After selecting all of the files you want to join,
go ahead and click "File" at the top, then click
"Save As..." and type a file name for the final
.avi you will produce. Then click "Save"
and wait for it to finish. Done!

When trying to play the movie in Winamp or WMP11 - message appears in video: Warning HD codec not detected! please get the correct codec from:

That is not a pop-up error message or anything but the actual video is just a black screen with this text at 20kbps video bandwidth....
This seems suspect. What seems more suspect is re-zipping the file compresses the 700MB to 1.5MB.
I call shenanigans. And trojans. And maybe MPAA loading fakes....
