You have to enable h264 in ffdshow or install coreavc to play AVC codecs.

I have the same problem, and H.264/AVC is enabled in ffdshow

Yes VLC works fine otherwise install klite mega codec pack that will let you play pritty much anything i media player and other players you have installed in some cases
