once you have installed hard spl you can always reflash from bootloader mode anyway

Note: if you ever mess up your diamond flashing a new rom! just swich on the diamond and hold the volume down button and the red reset button simultaneously, this will enter tri-colour bootloader mode, you can then connect your fone to active sync and flash another rom :-)

OK. From my understanding flashing GSM to CDMA, or vice verse, will brick the phone permanently.

your understanding is wrong then lol even if you do flash a gsm rom to a cdma handset or vice virsa you can still enter bootloader mode and flash a new rom lol
