Virtual PC for MAC

Microsoft Virtual PC is a virtualization suite for Microsoft Windows operating systems, and an emulation suite for Mac OS X on PowerPC-based systems. The software was originally written by Connectix, and was subsequently acquired by Microsoft. In July 2006 Microsoft released the Windows-hosted version as a free product. In August 2006 Microsoft announced the Macintosh-hosted version would not be ported to Intel-based Macintoshes, effectively discontinuing the product as PowerPC-based Macintoshes are no longer manufactured. Virtual PC virtualizes a standard PC and its associated hardware. Supported Windows operating systems can run inside Virtual PC. However, other operating systems like Linux may run, but are not officially supported. Plus there is a sweedish version . I think Intel Macs can run PPC code using ~Rosetta. You may have to download it, but i think it's built-in to the Intel install of OSX.
Btw, Virtual PC is extremely cool. Good way to take care of viruses--you can just have a backup disk image w/ XP or whatever installed, and whenever you want, just trash the virus-laden image and start w/ a fresh one!
I am talking about VPC6, though--haven't downloaded this ver. yet.

i install this one in my G5... and believe me, comparing both OS... damn, the X is unbeatable! Windows XP SP3 took about an hour to install, and i finish making 2 virtual machines, one with the XP, and one with Linux.

i know this comment is 2 years old, but of course it took an hour to install XP in this on a G5. Windows is an X86 OPERATING SYSTEM! you are running it on a PowerPC chip which is an ENTIRELY different architecture and Virtual PC has to convert the x86 code to PowerPC in REAL-TIME and then emulate the other PC components for you to be able to run it.
that takes a LOT of CPU power, and your G5 is old and slow to begin with. argh. i wish people would learn how computers work before making ridiculous comments. that would be nice.

@mikedongs: Your comments was just as ridiculous--it takes 45min to install XP on an actual Pentium 4, so an hour in VPC on a G5 isn't all that bad.
@1codyh98: Windows 8 sucks balls. So does Win7. Both are bloated, slow, and icky. Looks like someone sprayed sperm on your monitor screen. XP was the best OS ever created, but Micro$ux realized their income had dropped, so they came up with Win7, then Win8, next Win9.... Sick.
