No this isn't the alternate ending. This is the Original ending where the hero lives at the end.
If your looking for the alternate ending, then download anything but this one.

I downloaded a dozen 1408 torrents and this is the only one with the original ending. Sound is a little out of sync but you can fix that with vlc. Just speed up the video by half a second or so.
