Anno 17.000 A.C., degli uomini primitivi intenti nella caccia vedono un' enorme macchina piramidale e gigantesche creature cibernetiche, i primi Transformers, intente a costruirla. Una di esse, accortasi di loro, li attacca uccidendoli. Passati due anni dagli eventi del primo film, Optimus Prime comanda, insieme al Maggiore Lennox, la NEST: una squadra d'assalto di coraggiosi soldati, Autobot e umani, che collaborano insieme per sconfiggere gli ultimi Decepticon nascosti sulla Terra.
