In early June, while in Japan promoting E=MC², Carey stated that the song would be released as the third single. After her promotional activities ended in Japan, Carey flew to Hawaii to shoot the music video. It was a 3-Day shoot. It was directed by Chris Applebaum ("Umbrella," "Unwritten"). The music video for "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" premiered on BET's 106 & Park on July 3, 2008 at 6:00pm ET/PT and on Yahoo! Music at midnight on the same day, and premiered on TRL on July 7, 2008.
