His reason for returning is his sister's wedding. The combination of family members and the conflicts that come along with them spark memories of the reasons why he left, as well as visions of alternate realities, including one in which he hung his fifteen year-old self from a tree in the backyard of the family home.

This was unusual enough to hold my interest, tired as I am of coming out stories and the like. While I was, at first, amused by the depiction of the trashy Irish-American family (reminds me a lot of my mother's clan), the characters were overall too thin and horribly cliched. The script faltered most when it resorted to pop psychology - something it did far too often. The acting and direction were above average.

I wonder: how about who cares about that? meanwhile ..... there are so many other interesting movies(and so called ..movies)
