YES, Top and bottom black bars, this is known as "letterboxing". i am loathe to hear from someone i watch a film with, when presented with a letterboxed film, "wheres the rest of the picture?" i suggest you read up on this as you will see that you are actually getting more, not less, of the picture with letterbox than with fullscreen. thanks and godbless
