The resolution is as advertised but the video quality is horrendous. Major interlacing problems (combing?).

at the top of vlc go to video and then deinterlace. choose blend and you fixed the problem

this show was filmed in 480i. every episode is interlaced. most dvd/media players should be able to handle interlacing.
