The Last Broadcast (1998)

Bristling with equipment, two enthusiastic local access cable TV producers recruit an assistant and venture into a forest in search of the mythical and horrifying Jersey Devil. Explain all of those .rar files to me. What are they for and how do you use them?
Also, I'm completely unable to fast-forward or rewind the video. I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I made the mistake of trying to rewind a section to hear it again, because I didn't clearly the first time. Picture froze and now I can't get back to the time I was on previously. It sucks because if I want to get to that point again, I have to start the whole film over.
