The A/V isn't too bad on this, but I definitely agree with my friends on this one. This series is horrid. The only thing that makes this related to The Dresden Files books is some of the character names. They've changed everything, and none of it for the better. Do yourself a favor and just read the books, because this show is a complete bust.
