Description:

A movie that only true horror buffs could love, Army of Darkness is officially part 3 in the wild and wacky Evil Dead trilogy masterminded by the perversely inventive director Sam Raimi, who would later serve as executive producer of the popular syndicated TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Raimi's favorite actor, Bruce Campbell, returns as Ash (hero of the first two Evil Dead flicks#, a hardware-store clerk who is magically transported--along with his beat-up Oldsmobile and a chainsaw attachment for his severed left forearm--to the brutal battlefields of the 14th century. He quickly assumes power #who else in the Middle Ages packs a shotgun and a chainsaw?#, and unites his band of medieval knights against the dreaded Army of the Dead. Raimi gleefully subverts almost every horror-movie cliché as he serves up a nonstop parade of blood, gore, and vicious sword-bearing skeletons--an affectionate homage to animator Ray Harryhausen's classic Jason and the Argonauts. The frantic action is fun while it lasts, but even at 80 minutes Army of Darkness nearly wears out its welcome. You know that Raimi can maintain the mayhem for only so long before it grows tiresome, and fortunately this madcap movie quits while it's ahead. How is this movie a "non-stop parade of blood and gore"? There was hardly anything in this movie at all. For that matter, I'm not sure where everyone gets this whole idea that the Evil Dead movies are the goriest thing ever created. I'm sure 99 percent of the people who constantly talk about them have only seen a fucking shirt at Hot Topic and figured it would be cool to pretend to know about something that is twenty times the level of awesome they will ever achieve.
Either way, which ending does this have? Wondering before I download. I'm trying to get each copy of this movie. Is this the one with the cave ending, where he sleeps until the end of the world? If so, I'll seed for a week or two once finished.

You've gotta consider when this was made. The original, in '81, was censored in Germany and rated NC-17 in the US. Sure, it doesn't really hold a candle to the stuff in today's movies, but it's still fucking awesome.

This is awesome. i have loved this movie since i was little. Thanks for bringing the classic back.

I haven't seen this movie in a while but I'm pretty sure that this one specifically isn't a nonstop parade of blood and gore, yes there are hundreds of skeletons. But the 1st and 2nd Evil Deads were full of blood, gore and kickass monster costumes. So shut up, donavon_bray.

I concur w/Norvine, donavon_bgay you suck moose balls, "it would be cool to pretend to know about something that is twenty times the level of awesome they will ever achieve." eh what? like your awesome? you sound like one of those retards that made being into A/V and/or computers akin with being a loser. I mean it's nice that you have a opinion and all, but really just STFU.
