You will notice that two part movies are always in two 700mb files. These were originally created in programs like Gordian Knot who (pre DVD's) had this option to rip a movie into 2 files that would just fit onto two 700mb CD's. This was also before codecs that could rip a movie in decent quality under a gig.
Though these movies are often posted more recently, they are most likely movies that were ripped pre DVD's or in the transition. I have many and like others would be likely to post in response a request without necessarily joining them back into on file.
There are free programs like HJSplit that will easily re-combine them into one movie if this is important to you. For many, they play just fine as they are.
