Half-Life 2: Episode Two (NonSteam Version) This is a nonsteam (extracted) version of Half-Life 2: Episode Two. It is a clean rip that doesn't require the Steam Client in order to start the game. In addition, as many unnecessary files were removed as possible. The original Steam version includes several shared GCF archives that contain files used by multiple Steam games. Thus, once all the necessary GCF files are extracted, there are unused files included with the game. These files were removed to the best of my ability. THIS WORKS! ! !
I have tried many HL2 ep 2 and orange box torrents and every single one had some weird problems. Unleashed very buggy. Detonations orange box version of HL2 EP2 were ridiculously buggy because of gordon moves up&down like walking over the rocks all the time.
But this really works! I have ATI 2900XT crosfire and I haven't seen that problem mentioned previously posts.

using the "F:\Program Files\Half-Life 2 Episode Two\Episode Two.exe" -game ep2 -mat_dxlevel 90 -window +mat_softwarelighting 1 +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 command I see rocks and trees and barrels and fences and Alyx(without her eyes, CREEPY!) and trains and such (AND Im getting afterimages like crazy), but no ground or water or sky or any other important textures. Im using a NiVidia GeForce FX5200 PCI w/ 256MB DDR, so idk why the gfx are buggy. Will the fix be soon?

I first played the Orange Box version, which had a bug causing it to freeze at some point in the mines (happened at the same spot on 2 different configurations). This one worked flawlessly. No white screen, texture problems, freeze-ups or script errors.

Does this work fine on Windows 7? Im not sure if i should download or not. Im seeing comments about the white screen but im noticing that its happening on 2000, XP, and Vista. But so far, when ive downloaded something like this, its worked fine on Windows 7. Someone give me an answer please.

Fix for White Screen Issue
If all you get is a white screen and audio when you load the game, you may be able to fix the issue by changing your shortcut to the hl2.exe to look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Half-Life 2 Episode Two\hl2.exe" -game ep2 -dxlevel 81 +mat_forcehardwaresync 0
The "C:\Program Files\Half-Life 2 Episode Two\" part should of course be the folder to which you've installed the game.

Fix for the white screen (checked and it works)
1. go to:
And download it and open it but dont touch any thing yet in it (The problem is the shaders)
2. Go to program files (located in your "computer" area where you can in the start up... after opening that go to you're hard drive and find program files)
3. Look for "Half-Life 2 Episode Two" and open it
4. Then open the file named "hl2" Then open the file "shaders"
5. You should see three files named "fxc", "psh", and "vsh" delete all three of them
6. go back to the .rar file you downloaded and open the "hl2" files then the "shaders" file (you'll notice they are the same)
7. Drag those files in the .rar into the shaders file (the one that you deleted the files from)
Let them paste and what not and TADA! No more white screen!

This does not work. It starts up allright but when right in the beginning the game loads (after the video) the loading bar gets stuck on the last one... 95% I think.... It stops working and says"not responding" on the Task Manager...
