Description:

________________________________________________________________________ eXPerience Presents... Windows TinyXP Rev09 ________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for trying TinyXP Rev09... To install Windows TinyXP from this CD, set your PC up so it will boot from the CD-ROM in the PC's BIOS. You cannot install TinyXP as an "upgrade" from within Windows. This TinyXP now has a "Repair Option" (Option 9) where you can install Windows the way you want, your own username, regional and language options etc. One file was hacked in this untweaked "attended" version so that you can see the product key on the actual installation screen as you install Windows. The hacked file is for installation purposes only and never ends up on your system. This #9 option in the boot menu for XP is the same as option #2 except in #2 it is an unattended installation and in #9 it is a standard install where you need to click next, etc. Or you can choose any of the other eight different flavours of TinyXP. Options 1 to 8 are all unattended and vary in size and whether they install with the added drivers or not. Only install TinyXP onto a freshly formatted partition or hard disk. There is no upgrade option available in TinyXP, because the option is removed. You do not need any product key in this release - the installation of TinyXP is unattended, once you choose the drive or partition on which to install TinyXP. Even on option nine, the product key is filled in for you on the screen, you simply click next without having to type a key in. All installations are set to US English. ________________________________________________________________________ When you boot from this CD you have the following options: Choosing #1 at the main menu, gives you the following menu: 1 - TinyXP With IE/OE/WMP (With Added Driverpacks) 2 - TinyXP With IE/OE/WMP (Without Added Driverpacks) 3 - TinyXP Without IE/OE/WMP (With Added Driverpacks) 4 - TinyXP Without IE/OE/WMP (Without Added Driverpacks) 5 - TinyXP BARE With IE/OE/WMP (With Added Driverpacks) 6 - TinyXP BARE With IE/OE/WMP (Without Added Driverpacks) 7 - TinyXP BARE Without IE/OE/WMP (With Added Driverpacks) 8 - TinyXP BARE Without IE/OE/WMP (Without Added Driverpacks) 9 - TinyXP With Repair Option (Product Key Already Filled In) Choosing #2 at the main menu, gives you the following menu: 1 - Acronis Backup + Restore (Safe For Vista) 2 - Damn Small Linux v4.3 3 - Hiren's BootCD v9.5 4 - SpinRite v6.0 Abbreviations from above: IE ---> Internet Explorer OE ---> Outlook Express WMP ---> Windows Media Player ________________________________________________________________________ Installations 1 to 8 of TinyXP include the following items, which are all automatically installed along with Windows: Service Pack 3 Final (Build 5512) All Hotfixes Up To May 2008 DirectX DLL Libraries (24 to 36) Flash Player v9.0.124.0 (IE) - / - Plugin DLL v9.0.124.0 (Firefox/Opera) Royale Theme (Options 1 to 4) - / - Classic Theme (Options 5 to 8) ________________________________________________________________________ Here is a breakdown of the twelve options: Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3: For Microsoft fans... Options 1, 2, 5 and 6 all include Internet Explorer Web Browser v6, Outlook Express Email Client and Windows Media Player v9. These older versions of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player are what would install with Windows XP by default. If you want to install the later versions of these programs (Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11) its no problem, those installers are in the EXTRAS folder on the CD to be applied after Options 1,2,5 or 6 have been installed. The IE7 and WMP11 installers are silent (just double click the file once to install) and they even install the post IE7 and WMP11 hotfixes! Windows XP is completely up to date and as Bill Gates intended. For people who don't like Microsoft programs... Options 3, 4, 7 and 8 do not include Internet Explorer, Outlook Express or Windows Media Player. Mozilla Firefox v3.0 is included to replace Internet Explorer. There are no replacements in these options to Outlook Express or Windows Media Player. You can just use your own programs like Mozilla Thunderbird to replace Outlook Expess and Winamp/VLC/MPC to play audio and video files. For people who want the most features... Options 1, 2, 3, and 4 are as full as this Windows XP could possibly be made, while still fitting everything onto a 700Mb CD. You still have System Restore, games, almost every single service. The only removed services are removed because they are annoying, not to save space, all functionality is still there. All services are set to their default settings. This is the recommended installation, the first option, because it is the most complete one - with added drivers too. For people who want a smaller faster leaner BARE installation... Options 5, 6, 7, and 8 are as stripped as Windows XP can be made without losing vital functionality like local networking. Bear in mind that a lot of components are removed from these options! For example, games, themes, even Windows Firewall is removed. These BARE options still support printers, scanners, cameras etc and these installations still include MDAC, Jet Database, COM+. These are smaller installs but they are still reasonably functional, 99% in fact! Automatic Driver Installation... Options 1, 3, 5 and 7 include drivers to cover the following: Broadband Chipset CPU Input (Mice, Keyboards) LAN Ethernet Monitors SATA & Mass Storage Scanners Sound Cards TV cards Wireless LAN No Drivers Included... Options 2, 4, 6 and 8 do not contain those drivers - this is in case you have SATA problems with options 1, 3, 5, or 7, or if you just want to install your own drivers. Repair Option... Option 9 is the same TinyXP as option 2 but option 9 is not unattended. You will need to click "Next" and "OK" a few times whilst it installs. This is here so you can boot into the "Repair Option" from the CD. When Windows is unattended like in options 1 to 8, you do not get this "Repair Option". You might need it one day. ________________________________________________________________________ Live Rescue Options: Acronis Backup + Restore... Option 1 on the rescue menu allows you to backup your existing partition(s) before installing Windows, or you can quickly restore a backup made previously with Acronis. Damn Small Linux v4.3... This has to be one of the best things ever created in the world of computing! Option 2 is a 50Mb live Linux environment with the ability to connect to the internet from within the Linux environment. Includes Mozilla Firefox web browser and many other tools. What would you do if you totally lost your Windows install and had to get online to troubleshoot the problem? This is where Damn Small Linux comes in. NOTE: You might get an SCSI problem when booting into this Damn Small Linux, if this happens, type "dsl noscsi" (without quotes) when you are loading Linux and it will work. You may need to type this command to boot Damn Small Linux in VMware. There is a Damn Small Linux text file in the DOCS folder on the CD. Hirens Boot CD v9.5... Option 3 allows you to boot into Hirens Boot CD version 9.5. This is a massive collection of more then 200 tools! Including Partition Tools, Disk Clone Tools, Antivirus Tools, Recovery Tools, Testing Tools, RAM (Memory) Testing Tools, Hard Disk Tools, System Information Tools, MBR (Master Boot Record) Tools, BIOS / CMOS Tools, MultiMedia Tools, Password Tools, NTFS, Ext2FS, Ext3FS (FileSystems) Tools, Dos File Managers, Dos Tools and Windows Tools. You can boot into Hiren's and have access to Norton Partition Magic, Paragon Partition Manager, EasyRecovery... please see the Hirens text file that is in the DOCS folder on the CD for the full list of tools included in the Hirens Boot CD. SpinRite v6.0... SpinRite attempts to recover data from damaged portions of hard disks that might not be readable via the operating system. When it encounters a sector with errors that cannot be corrected by the disk drive's error correcting code, it tries to read the sector up to 2000 times, and tries to determine the most probable value of each bit by comparing the results. The data is then saved onto a new block of the same disk. ________________________________________________________________________ EXTRAS folder (CD) This folder contains: Internet Explorer 7 Silent Installer Windows Media Player 11 Silent Installer eXPerience Registry Tweaks 2008 ________________________________________________________________________ ISO folder (CD) If you want to make standalone ISO's of any of the nine Windows XP installations, you can do this by running one of the batch files included in the ISO folder on the CD. You can also make a separate ISO with the four rescue options (Acronis + Damn Small Linux + Hiren's BootCD + SpinRite) See the ISO folder for more info. ----------------------------------------------- HOW TO MAKE A SEPERATE ISO WITHOUT BURNING A CD ----------------------------------------------- You can use any of these programs: Daemon Tools (free) Alcohol 120% (not free) UltraISO (not free) Lets use Daemon Tools as an example - install Daemon Tools and mount the main ISO file of TinyXP_Rev09. Now open the virtual drive and open the ISO folder. Simply click any BAT file to make an ISO. This is also especially useful if you downloaded a DVD but only have a CD player, as long as the DVD in question allows you to create standalone ISO files ;) ________________________________________________________________________ OEM folder (CD) If you want to install the drivers on this CD independently of installing Windows, this is now possible by running one BAT file. In the OEM folder on the CD you will find a file called: INSTALL DRIVERS.bat Run this INSTALL DRIVERS.bat file and sit back whilst the process unpacks the drivers, then tries to find any drivers you might need installing, then installs the drivers, then removes the initial drivers that were extracted, because they are not needed afterwards. You can run this INSTALL DRIVERS.bat file anytime, on any x86 Windows XP. Do not move the BAT file from the OEM folder. If the BAT file is not left where it is inside the OEM folder, it will not work. ________________________________________________________________________ eXPerience folder (Desktop) Most of these folders contain quick solutions to things that otherwise would be buried away in the Windows GUI or require DOS style commands. E.g. "control userpasswords2" will open the screen to change your Windows XP login password, or "intl.cpl" runs the "Regional and Language Options" from Control Panel. FOLDERS: Desktop Icon Layout - Allows you to save your icon setup on the Desktop. Hibernation - Turns Hibernation on/off with one double click. Keyboard Settings - Quick way to open "Regional and language Options" Program Links - Download links to many great programs, all freeware. Registry Backup - Easily backup your registry in one double click. Services Configuration Files - Configure Windows to use less RAM. ShrinkXP Scripts - Removal of components whilst Windows is running. User Password - Easily change your password for Windows. ________________________________________________________________________ Removed Items: The breakdown of items removed is far too long to list here. Instead, think about which option you chose (the number) for example option 3. So then go to this folder: ROOT003$OEM$nLite In that nLite folder you will find a "Last Session.ini" file for nLite. This file lists every component that is removed. If the item is not in the list then the feature is still present in Windows. ________________________________________________________________________ Statistics: OPTION 1/2 (With IE/OE/WMP) RAM Usage On First Installation............ 85 Mb WINDOWS Folder............................. 561 Mb OPTION 3/4 (Without IE/OE/WMP) RAM Usage On First Installation............ 75 Mb WINDOWS Folder............................. 517 Mb OPTION 5/6 (BARE, With IE/OE/WMP) RAM Usage On First Installation............ 60 Mb WINDOWS Folder............................. 488 Mb OPTION 7/8 (BARE, Without IE/OE/WMP) RAM Usage On First Installation............ 50 Mb WINDOWS Folder............................. 459 Mb ________________________________________________________________________ Don't forget To Join The Forum @ SnipeR's Redemption Network: http://www.retestrak.nl/Board/ Enjoy this fine release from eXPerience Build Date: 22nd May 2008 Release Date : Spring 2008 ________________________________________________________________________

dejulez (2008-05-27)

Excellent release man. It's padawan here btw.

LysergicZaibatsu (2008-05-27)

Best tinyXP ever. not to mention best XP release ever.
If you have a BSOD when installing try restarting, it will probably continue fine.
For people having issues installing :
1. Burn with imgburn at 1x on good media and verify the burn.
2. If you are still having problems then create an iso using the batch files in the "ISO" folder and burn that.
3. If you are still having problems then create an iso with no driverpacks. Then use the "INSTALLDRIVERS.bat" in the OEM folder to install drivers from the cd.
4. Further problems would indicate that you have hardware issues and probably should run spinrite(found on the cd) to check for bad sectors on ur hard drive.

 liluser (2008-05-27)

shame this dont fit on a 700MB cd..
but a good xp..

mattchazz (2008-05-28)

liluser -- are you smoking crack again? Dude, we told you not to do that.
Of course it fits on a CD -- this is a CD ISO, you idiot.

ntoskrnl (2008-05-28)

This sounds like the best TinyXP ever! Downloading now.
Huge thanks to you eXP!
BTW, why was your old account (eXPerience33) with all the torrents deleted?

Lusanagi (2008-05-29)

lol I just downloaded, burned and installed TinyXP rev08
guess I'll download this one and wait till a windows failure or get a PC to install to :P

mattchazz (2008-05-29)

ntoskrnl wrote "BTW, why was your old account (eXPerience33) with all the torrents deleted?"

You ready for the answer? Because of noobs who don't understand how UNattended installs are made.
With UNattended installs you hide command windows so it's a seamless process. Also, you have to kill a process when it's finished, because otherwise the owner would have to click "close" several times.
To do all that eXPerience uses tools to hide command windows and to kill processes. These files show up as FALSE POSITIVES in some AV programs, because those same TOOLS can be used by virus writers. Again, they are tools, just like a knife. You can cut a piece of brea or open a package -- or you can stab someone. noobs reported "trojans" because their AV gave a false positive.
One guy on another torrent site did it maliciously because he got kicked off the site where eXPerience posts (the forum at SnipeR's Redemption Network). He wasn't a noob -- he knew there's nothing wrong with eXPerience's releases but he was mad.
But we don't know for sure -- they just all got deleted one day and that's the best guess. noobs kept writing "trojan warning!" and others who kniow better would explain, then it would happen again on the next page of comments because noobs don't like to read either. :)

 eXPer1ence (2008-05-29)

I wonder if the user "eXPerience" would give up his account?
:)
I also dunno why all my torrents were deleted, but TPB is not my website and I have no control over it.
Its not just my account though guys, "modemho" who upped all the Alex Jones shows is also gone and was here.

BellesFesses (2008-05-29)

Thankyou very much eXPerience. TinyXP Looks very nice :)
I'm a noob (no one is perfect) and as you have described earlier: "not one who doesn't read" ;)
I would like to have some information (that I didn't find reading here) on how to burn ...
Should I set Nero (Nero 6.6.0.8 in french) to make a bootable disk ? If so, could you give us a tiny little guide or instructions please. If not should I burn as a data disk.
Thanks in advance for those who have the knowledge :)

mattchazz (2008-05-30)

to burn in NERO, make sure you are in CD mode. Then go to the file menu and under "Recorder" dropdown menu, click on "Burn Image". This opens a location windows so you can show show NERO where the ISO file is located. (wherever you downloaded it to) Click on the ISO file.
Now a burn properties box appears, so you can choose how many copies and what speed. CHOOSE THE LOWEST SPEED POSSIBLE. NOT the maximum.
If you can't do this in Nero -- if it won't let you burn at 2x or 4x, then go download the free ImgBurn. (google it). On that program, choose "burn image file to disk" and choose 1x!

mattchazz (2008-05-30)

also with either Nero or ImgBurn, ALWAYS check mark the "verify" box. This lets you verify that the disk you burned matches the ISO. Many errors are caught at this stage. It's important.
also the reason you should burn at the lowest speed possible is this ISO covers every available bit of CD space. It fits on a CD but goes to the very edge. You want to burn SLOW and VERIFY because some blank CDs might be poor quality and not let you write to the edge. The companies cut corners in quality control. So, burn slow and verify!

BellesFesses (2008-05-30)

Thank You mattchazz for your time :)
I Tried burning as data option showed him the iso file and nero sort configured himself
Haven't tried booting on it yet. I started with TinyXP AppzXP CD but doesn't seem to want to start on it.
I'm googling to find out how to change Bios for a Cd boot. I'll post if I find out how

Xero_Xenith (2008-05-30)

Very nice! I've seeded as much as I can, but I can only manage 20kbps up. I've installed this in a VM; it runs very nice, and I'm going to install it on my grandpa's new laptop when he gets it. (Going to have to do a bit of post-install configuration, though - like putting the bar back on the left-hand side, and installing Flash.)
Definitely feels a lot zippier than a standard XP install, even in a VM.

BellesFesses (2008-05-30)

Starting on CDrom
It's quite simple really. No need to go in Bios just hit several times "enter" when DOS message trying to boot on CDrom appears ... and there you go CDrom takes over

bootyologist (2008-05-30)

Thanks for uploading! :)

bejko (2008-05-30)

sorry if i sound like a noob> can i install this on raid0 without connecting those floppy drives? (this is my first raid system.) thanks.

b00gie_n1ghts (2008-05-30)

I am having a problem with my install. During the initial install I kept getting a BSOD which referred to the file NVENETFD.SYS. I think it has something to do with the Nvidia graphics driver. Anyway, I tried another install minus the driver packs, which installed successfully. The problem now is, I don't have an ethernet device installed. It doesn't show up at all in the device manager so I can't install the drivers for it. It is onboard, like my graphics and sound. Is it possible I need the driver for my mainboard?

gansobomb420 (2008-05-31)

What a great release.

mattchazz (2008-06-02)

b00gie_n1ghts :
You can install all drivers after the installation by clicking on "installdrivers.bat" in the CD folder called "OEM".
Go to the CD, go to the OEM folder, click on "installdrivers.bat"

mattchazz (2008-06-02)

you can also use that trick to go update drivers on OTHER computers that aren't even running TinyXP.
It's a new trick eXPerience and a couple of others (scrooloose and jimmyjames) cooked up together. You can find them at the forum on Sniper's Redemption Network.

MeanorDljato (2008-06-02)

can i add chinese keyboard for the using the restore function or something like that???

voyeur66 (2008-06-03)

I will have a mirror up soon :)

b00gie_n1ghts (2008-06-04)

mattchazz:
Thanks for the reply. I did run the driver install script after installing XP, but it still wouldn't work. It turns out I have some obscure motherboard with onboard nvidia etc. It took a while to find the right drivers myself, I guess TinyXP didn't include them - but thats understandable. This is a great release, thanks :-)

Fauxy (2008-06-04)

Great release. I would love to see a tinyxp version of Pro x64.

MeanorDljato (2008-06-04)

can anybody answer my question with the chinese keyboard???, can i add it in nlite again or something,, i like the tinyxp relaese, but i need chienese keyboard.

mattchazz (2008-06-05)

Yes, you can change the keyboard. There are several ways.
You can do that in the Control Panel, under "Regional and Language Options".
Here's another way that also changes stuff in the registry just to make sure:
http://support.argogroup.com/article.php?art=313

People have used this to change to Portuguese and Dutch azerty.

rockmetal69 (2008-06-05)

bullshit!!!! i cant install this on my Pentium 3 comp, i burned the image in 40x speed in Nero, does this has something to do with the burn speed? coz when i try to install it shows an error whenever it reaches 39 minutes of time remaining! has someone have the same problem as me?
im fucked up please help

 Antje14 (2008-06-05)

@rockmetal69
40x ? Are you crazy?
Try burning it at 1x

mattchazz (2008-06-06)

Here's my comments from the 1st page because noobies can't read:
CHOOSE THE LOWEST SPEED POSSIBLE. NOT the maximum.

I installed TinyXP With Repair Option (Product Key Already Filled In), but cant get wireless connection to function .. anyone else had that problem?

rockmetal69 (2008-06-09)

fuck!!! after installation i surf the net and i dont know what happened but theres an annoying message every time i open disk drives!!! it says you are infected with trojan horse please download antispyware(recommended)!!! and when i click yes it directs me to a website to download a software that costs 69 dollars!! what the heck is this shit? even kaspersky and spyware doctor cant detect this kind of virus, trojan, adware or whatever it is!!!!

eblivion (2008-06-10)

http://talkingincircles.net/2008/06/09/thoughts-on-tinyxp/

Fast download, worked out of the box, tiny memory footprint... perfect! Be sure to burn it at a low speed, and always set nero to verify the data.

saviorx (2008-06-10)

thanks. ill be trying this tomorrow. hope the mtp bug finally got fixed :)
any plans to include media center in the future?

devanz2008 (2008-06-12)

If this is you baby glad to have you back, keep up the astounding work!!! Thanks you

greace (2008-06-12)

Very Nice Work.
I still use TinyXp Rev 02, have done since it was released. Never found anything better than that (for me anyhow).
Just out of interest, WHAT VERSION OF XP DOES eXPerience HIMSELF USE?
I would love to know.....
p.s - Your work is really APPRECIATED - THANKS

trs667 (2008-06-13)

This install seems to have rpcnet (Absolute Software Inc. tracking system) embedded.
Check your system32/ directory for rpcnetp.exe, rpcnetp.dll - Comodo firewall detects this, but NAV, Adaware, Spybot do not.

christianpeso (2008-06-13)

TRS667:
Thats your pc dude! Not in TinyXp Rev0.9!! I have installed on a desktop and laptop and I get neither of those files in my system32 folder. That program is embedded in system bios so my guesses if u happen to have those files on your pc are you got your pc from a friend/dude off the street/pawn shop, something other than a reputable retail or online store. If u have those files you can take them out of your bios by running a program. By studying your bios with a hex editor u should find "optromg.rom". Follow the link for how to:

Either stop fucking lying about this release or be more fucking careful with what programs u install and/or websites u visit. I AM 100% SURE WHATEVER PROBLEM U ARE HAVING REGARDING A SO-CALLED TROJAN HORSE OR POP-UPS IS NOT CAUSED BY THIS TORRENT, TINYXP REV0.9!!! It is caused by your own ignorance and stupidity, or u are just flat out lying for some odd reason! DO NOT BELIEVE THIS GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anarcher (2008-06-14)

This came out ot Avira Antivir:
F:\ROOT\0008\$OEM$\$$\system32\cmdow.exe

[DETECTION] Contains detection pattern of the SPR/HideWindows.I program
Repeated for each 000x directory.

anarcher (2008-06-14)

I see... so its just a tool program that kicks stuff around a bit weirdly and that trips the alert with antivir. All good, nice release. Props to the uploader :)

trs667 (2008-06-15)

OK, so the RCPNET thing is not part of TinyXP!!! I apologize for suggesting that it was part of this software.
It was installed by my Gateway P-6860 FX laptop - weird. Apparently Gateway computers have some kind of anti-theft/tracking software that is installed by the bios at boot - freaky. Anyway, I prevented it from running/installing itself at every boot by creating 0-byte files with the same name in the system32 directory and setting them to read-only.
Aside from the cmdow.exe thing being flagged, this thing seems to be clean.
The only annoying thing is that it keeps coming up with all my previously open windows after a reboot.

anarcher (2008-06-15)

I suggest you install Blackbox/BBLean so you dont even have to use explorer.exe anymore :)

AnticsTheHanyou (2008-06-18)

eXPerience, I've always loved your releases.
My media center just kinda crapped out on me, so after replacing the OS hdd (Of course I don't keep my music/movies/etc on the same drive as the OS ;P), instead of going back with Vista, I decided to see if there are any new versions of your work.
Indeed, there is. And as always, its brilliant. My net held a constant 970-100KBps for all of the 15 minutes it took to download this. Ahahaha.
So as always, thanks eXP, and also a huge thanks to all the seeders. =]

There are some problems with computers built by HP. After the first reboot to start the actual install. It would stop and relay an error message: "STOP: 0x0000007e(0xC0000005, 0xF6AD690C, 0xF78E21F0, 0xF78E1EEC)" and name a file : "NVENETFD.sys". Formating and then choosing an option WITHOUT the driverpack. After the reboots you can manually install the driverpack. NOTE: This happened on my HP Pavilion a1630n and I used option 4 to successfully install.

Thanks, Ive herd so many good things about this! I cant wait to give it a shot!

MarkKub (2008-06-26)

I tried option 7 but desktop PC was left with no options for WLAN. After 30 mins of fiddling I gave up trying to find out how to show WLAN (it's not in the tasktray). Also it failed to enable the button to let you change the display driver or monitor type.
So I tried option 3 but that freezes after selection (I tired 3 times).
I tried option 4 but that again failed to show me any means of attaching to a wireless network and again had the buttons disabled for changing monitor and display card driver.
I've given up on this one and have started to download a SP3 Windows Corp that was uploaded yesterday instead.

Hello
Does anybody know if I can add language pack to this release? I tried and install works, then it asks for xp cd and after I insert it in, I starts uninstalling... does it have anything to do with tinyxp sp3 and my sp2 on cd..

koala101 (2008-06-29)

People, this is the same as the original vanilla XP SP3 CD, except that drivers are attempted to be installed post-install, and second that this time it's YOU who have burned the media. That being said, data verification should be performed after writing.

JacksonT (2008-06-30)

First off I would like to see great release. Though I am missing the eXperiance folder from my desktop. Could someone tell me where on the CD it would be located or direct me to a direct download of the folder ?

Works great for me.
One problem though. After installing the os the user i administrator. I want to create a limited user for daily work. I cant do that without having created a new admin acount with a new name.
So on the login screen to windows 3 user acounts appear. 1. administrator (automatic one) 2. admin (my created) 3. Limited user.
I only want 2 users on the login screen. 1 admin and 1 limited user. How do I do. I cant delete any of the admins.

I've uploaded the change-desktop-wallpaper fix.
eXPerience is welcomed to use these changes in future versions.

henryspencer2001 (2008-07-06)

First I would just like to say this is the best and easiest xp install I have ever had and I must have done about 50. I got this dl'ed in 1 hour thanks seeders. It is much more responsive and faster than any XP nlite you could do yourself and eXPerience has mastered it. Just a few quirks that are probably my fault but nothing big. I had the same problem as obell in that the admin keeps showing up on the welcome screen, and occasionally I get some window lag but other than that it is perfect. Thanks again!

kungenavkungsan (2008-07-06)

I'm trying to install on a HP Compaq nx6125 notebook.
I'm using an AMD processor w/ latest bios upgrade avalible from HP.
Since reading about the problems with SP3 on HP w/ AMD notebooks I was thinking that maby my problems are in relation to this.
The problem; During install the notebook shuts down, very unexpectedly.
- Using AC adapter during install.
The install starts as usual, runs in "dos mode" for a while, it goes to the point where it says "starting windows" and then it shuts down.
I don't reach the part of the install where it asks about the partions.
- Have tried all the options, several times.
But, the fan simply revs down and then the notebook turns off.
When I boot up again my current windows works just as before attempting re-installing.
Could the problems be related to the SP3 issues on HP notebooks w. AMD processors?
Any thoughts or tips?

followed by "[", 16 rectangular blocks, a large number of

Also when i goto do the checksums, i've tried this multiple times, and get the same result. All of the checksums don't match the listed one, but they are all the same as each other(downloaded the same torrent from multiple locations) i'm at a loss for what to do

anyone know how to install this over vista as it loads up on the initial screens where you choose your install but then cannot detect any hard drive

@ Kaikallon
FFOX.exe isn't firefox.exe and probably is a virus.

whitefang_razorblade (2008-07-09)

Correct me if I'm wrong, the description said that
"ISO folder (CD)
If you want to make standalone ISO's of any of the nine Windows
XP installations, you can do this by running one of the batch
files included in the ISO folder on the CD.
You can also make a separate ISO with the four rescue options
(Acronis + Damn Small Linux + Hiren's BootCD + SpinRite)
See the ISO folder for more info."
meaning if I double click the option let say 3 then it will create a new ISO file???
It says stand alone ISO file so I'm assuming it 's the case. I am also assuming that the ISO file should be smaller in size compare to the original ISO. And I wonder if the ISO is bootable.
Guys any idea???
thanks

whitefang_razorblade (2008-07-09)

Well I just answered some of my question and it create a new ISO file around 300 MB but I'm not sure if the ISO is bootable.

whitefang_razorblade (2008-07-09)

FFOX.exe is probably a virus, I also encounter it when I created an ISO using option 3. I let my anti virus delete the file and continue with the ISO creation. Anyway firefox 3 is out in a few MB of size, not a big deal.

 eXPer1ence (2008-07-11)

If you're letting your antivirus delete FFOX.exe how the hell is the installation going to be able install Firefox?!
I don't put viruses in my releases.
Oh well, enjoy the halting installation, its not unattended without that file because the bat file will not find it, halting the entire installation at that point.
Seems to me these anti-virus programs create problems, not fix them, but then isn't that what the anti-virus program supplier relies on - there being "problems" in the first place - in other words your crappy anti-virus is giving fake warnings.
Its caused by the QBFC compiled batch file "install.exe" inside the FFOX.exe. You can get Quick Batch File Compiler and decompile that file if you want, open FFOX.exe with WinRAR and drag the install.exe out, then decompile with QBFC and you can see whats in the batch file.

First, THANKS! my computer is flying now.
so here's my prob: i installed option 3 (no IE/OE/WMP, w/ drivers) and all is good, but i can't then install Windows Live Messenger (craps out on install). don't want all the IE/OE/WMP stuff, but would like msn still. any ideas or help?
THX!

JacksonT (2008-07-12)

@ kmb24k
What exactly do you mean by "craps out" ? Is there an error message ? or does it just crash ?

kmb24k (2008-07-12)

it gives an error msg.. 0x800somethingsomething... so i looked around. the WLInstaller.exe and WLsetup.exe were the same... registered a bunch of DLL's, installed "windows installer", tried installing some other crap following M$ help posts... no go. but i was able to download a stand alone "install_messenger.exe" file from M$ that got version 8.1 running no problem. (apparently there are at least 3 version of install files u can download from M$) all's well now, and again, thx eXPer1ence

SyDoX (2008-07-12)

hmm.. just wondering. I always select option 3 when i install tinyxp. and always i get the same problem. some of my programs won't install because of a "mapi32.dll" is missing. and as far as i know thats a part of outlook, right? i've allready placed a copy in my system folder as well as turning on the service thingy. but still no luck i got, master.
any experience here ppl ?

hspank (2008-07-15)

here is an idea: at the moment you cannot install tinyXP without a bootable (usb) cdrom. there are people who can only boot from HDD or floppy. wouldn't it be great to have a tinyXP version which works like the OEM restore partitions, once you want to clean, just go into dual boot and restore to the latest release? or at least a 2 step install, where you can boot from floppy and then continue with the second part, (WINNT.exe ...) please, this might sound weired at first, but consider this... no CDROM needed..

I have installed TinyXP on a Dell Latitude C840 and on a Dell Optiplex GX110 and works like a charm, great job!
However I get an interesting error on a clone PC; when copying the files from the cd, during the installation, it says it cannot read shell32.dll (I already burnt it at 4x with Verify on) - but a regular Windows XP Pro with the OEM key will install just fine.
It's funny because I tried those same cds on my C840 and that's how I ended up installing it on my laptop, no errors, no nothing, they just worked.
Thanks experience! And if anyone has any ideas regarding my error, let me know~ Its kinda frustrating that my main machine is the one with the crapy OEM XP and my old machines have much improved XP

any suggestions?

dockular (2008-07-24)

DinoBotPrime, burn the ISO with imgburn (google it) and try using a different brand of blank CD media. Burning with default ISO settings of some burning software will a lot of times cause certain CD drives to encounter problems (saying that the a file is corrupt, when actually the drive is the problem)
Another solution is to update your CD/DVD reader firmware. lots of times that fixes it

DinobotPrime (2008-07-31)

Dockular:
I burned it at 4x from the very beginning using imgburn; like I said, the problem is unique to a single machine - perhaps the motherboard?
I've used those cds on other installations without a hitch, swapped hard drives and cd-roms and still the exact same error on the exact same file; yet those hard drives and the cd-roms(yes, the hardware) work just fine during TinyXP installation on other systems.

It's like getting a tattoo. Don't get one unless you know you can live with it every day. Sure you can get expensive, painful laser removal but it's easier to just not do it in the first place.
You said you didn't want IE, so you don't have IE. Now you WANT IE? Then reformat your hard drive and choose Option #1.
On the Sniper's Redemption Network we see a ton of people like you -- I don't want IE, OK I changed my mind, how do I get it back? We roll our eyes at people like that. Install IE to begin with. You don't have to use it if you don't want to, but you never know when you are going to need some component -- oh like this messenger program?

whazzzzzup17 (2008-08-01)

I'm sorry I thought I wrote the reason why i needed it.
First off, I hate all those programs, ie, oe,wmp.
The reason i needed ie was to update through windows update.
Noticing that the firefox update, is a bunch a crap and doesn't really work properly.
Also i thought it would be better and easier to not install them all and install the ie later.
Any help would appreciate it, since only you responded to me :d(

coolboi: I think I figured it out. You were buring too slowly. You were probably using 52X CD-R media. Try burning another one at 40X, or if your drive can read DVD, burn a DVD-R. This worked for me.

taosk8r (2008-08-07)

Experience: Have you ever thought about making a 'DVD Edition' of TinyXP? That is, same stripped down deal, but with a bunch of programs able to be installed off a menu; kinda like a tinyxp version of something like BlackXP.. That'd be cool, cause someone wouldn't have to track down and install all that stuff separately. Maybe you could also build in something like Partition Magic 2.1 for that needed function. Assuming Experience isn't interested/doesn't see this, perhaps someone else who knows how its done might be interested in taking it on?

For those having problems downloading IE7 with this release...Have u all tried using the silent installer that is in the "Extras" folder on the cd? Open your CD drive with TinyXP 09 in it and find the "EXTRAS"folder. In there u will see a silent IE installer and a silent "wmp" installer. Use that instead of trying to download IE7 from MS website.

The ISO file is 699 mb, but when you mount it, and then copy the files in to a new folder on your harddrive it becomes 3,18 GB?! can someone explain that to me?? is that the reason why some people are having problems burning it on a CD? (including me)

For those who choose eXPeriences OS's without WMP/OE/IE - There is a way of viewing "All Videos" within Firefox without any rubbish Media Players. All you need on your computer
is the K-lite Codec package and MPlayer-1.0rc2-gui.If you install the Firefox plug-in "MediaPlayer Connectivity" you will be able to watch
all Videos in your browser, including WMV files, without Windows Media player installed.
When you install MediaPlayer Connectivity plugin it will go through a configuration wizard. It will only see Media Player Classic in the Wizard - choose this to play all media types - Then go into Mediaplayer Configuration and set it to use gmplayer to play Windows Media files - you will have to manually browse to the Mplayer-1.0rc2-gui folder in Program files and select gmplayer. It works a treat !

I cannot get this to install. I've burned 5 copies now including a version of the #7 option .bat file, at varying speeds including 1x and verified. They all do the same thing on both a laptop and a desktop (which both have been working fine before running XP and Fedora9).
I select any option from the install menu, I get the "Setup is inspecting your hardware.." message then the screen goes black and a few seconds later the cdrom stops spinning and even after a few hours nothing else ever happens. No blinking cursor, just a black screen.

GN85 (2008-09-13)

Weird, can't get a mouse to work on my PC. Windows detects the USB drive that I plugged in, but I've tried two mice, and none of them worked.

N-E-0 (2008-09-14)

I could not wait to get this. I downloaded as fast as I could. I had finaly gotten it. I installed it. And I was crushed. It lagged like hell. But don't get me wrong its not because f the system. Its because of the graphics card drivers that it installs. If you lag while scrolling, while opening programs, etc. Update your video card drivers!

rudreshsj (2008-09-17)

sorry but does this version of windows support windows auto update?

intelliq (2008-09-18)

I only recommend this release if you are installing it on an older gaming rig if you are trying to squeeze out as much ooomph from it as possible, and if you have alot of time to fiddle with getting things working correctly.
(Think of setting up an obscure hybrid of Windows 3.1 and Win95)
Have a disc burned and ready with all of your drivers handy, with Firefox and Winrar on it.
Winrar is missing from the installation, even though the installation tries to find it - it says it's missing. (of course, I looked at the disc i burned this release onto, and sure enough it's not there)
The browser that comes with this is horrible, he should have just implemented Firefox as there is no one on the planet who will keep this browser - it wont show most pages correctly nor navigate links very well, instead the page just refreshes. This, in the end, just causes you to go to another computer and burn firefox onto a disc and install it on whatever machine you're going to install this OS.
Same with Winrar.
Also if you have a home network you will need your original XP disc and copy a bunch of files over to this machine to get networking to function.
Lastly, SATA drivers would not take, so I was unable to access my other hard drives which contained all my back up drivers and utilites and games.
BUT - Like I said, this is a good OS for someone with an older machine and has the time to tinker with restoring a few basic functions.

trebor_709 (2008-09-21)

great up. works fine
but my music file details no longer show, how do fix this?

ScopeLoc (2008-09-26)

it's quite funny to read this stuff under tinyXP or any of his work. 1ST to the egghead that made the comment about tiny being same size as reg xp. Have you not seen the extras he added besides XP and the updates and the extra boot options and better performance, ahh forget if you have figured it out by now, your not going to. To everyone else I have used his stuff for 3 years now and I can tell you 1 its works and 2 it's clean. He thought highly of at a many of web sites check for yourself. just burn slow and use a little common sense. I work in the hospital where I install this and other tiny or micro or some version of his work on a daily basis for people I work with and have no problems so take that into consideration.

ScopeLoc (2008-09-26)

So many people are so scared of viruses. If you are installing this then you must have reformatted and backed up your CPU. If thats so then what do you have to loose if you don't like it just redo it with plain windows again. If you read you will realize these are false positives as told by everyone else. But like he says he is not forcing you to use this.

rh128592 (2008-09-26)

Color me a shameless eXPerience fanboy, but these installs have always worked flawlessly for me. Rev 9 is even better: fewer extras, more install options.
Having just come off a 7-day Vista binge, I was eager to install a svelt yet capable eXPerience build of XP. I can't quite wrap my head around how a small team managed to kick Microsoft's ass with their own product, but they have.
Bravo. Truly the only reason I keep 1 Windows box running in a house of Macs. Why Bill himself doesn't knock on your door and hire you is beyond me.

inAcrysis (2008-09-26)

I tried options 1 - 3 - 9
None worked
They stopped at xx% and refused to continue
Had to install my own Xp again :-(

Here's my comments after doing a few installs with this version on an HP Laptop (DV6000) and my ASUS/AMD dual core machine.
The installs without IE/etc. with and without driver packs went okay on both. HPs are proprietary bitches and there were a few glitches that I won't attribute to TinyXP.
The Asus/AMD install went fine. No big issues.
This morning I needed to do an IE install with driver packs on the HP and it just shit the bed. It wouldn't find the sytem driver although I'm reinstalling now without IE or driverpacks and it works fine.
In short, when it works it's better than anything MS ever gave us. When TinyXP gets its panties in a bunch over a driver it's STILL better than MS but not as seamless as Rev05.
Definitely worth the download, but keep your Rev05 install handy just in case.

ae34 (2008-10-08)

can someone help me out please?
i've installed rev09, on two computers and want to synergy them together
i use bare w/o ie/oe/wmp and everything works great!
the only problem is that all my ports are blocked, and i can't synergy or do similar programs anybody have a solution to this?
is there any way i can unblock my ports?
i just use this for gaming, so viruses/hackers are not a concern

Skyline969 (2008-10-11)

Well, this is my first review and my first comment as well. Here goes nothing....
TinyXP Rev09 by eXPerience is definitely a great OS. It has helped breathe new life into two of my computers now ? one which I will be using as a server for my online game (400 MHz processor, 256 MB RAM, 6 GB HDD... but believe me, for the size of my game that's plenty) and another is my media laptop (700 MHz processor, 256 MB RAM, 11 GB HDD). For this review, I will discuss the effects of TinyXP on my laptop.
I was a little hesitant about installing TinyXP on my laptop because I had heard it may not be fully compatible with my laptop specifically. However, I was seriously wrong. After using the Hiren's Boot CD that comes with the torrent, I wiped my hard drive clean and installed TinyXP fresh. I was tired of Windows 2000 and I needed an upgrade so I could also play games on this thing. Yes, I am writing this review from the laptop!
Once installed, I came across one thing I did not like ? the icons, although my color depth was 16-bit, looked like they were in 256 colors. However, I just downloaded all the specific drivers for my laptop, installed them all, and everything was 100% perfect. I even discovered that my laptop didn't have the best drivers for its hardware when I had Windows 2000 on it!
When I had the drivers on and everything looked sleek and was performing to my preferences, I decided it was time to customize a little. By default, help balloons are disabled in the installation, so I enabled them with Tweak UI. Yes, Microsoft Powertoys still work on this version of Windows XP! Once tweaked, I noticed one more thing I didn't like about the OS. It looked like Windows XP. I never did like the looks of Windows XP, but I did like the looks of Vista....
What I did was download the Vista Inspirat 2 Bricopack from www.CrystalXP.net and installed it. Despite TinyXP being a stripped-down version of Windows XP Professional, the transformation went off without a hitch. Before I knew it, I had the look, feel, and sounds of Vista on my laptop!
So, in conclusion, if you need a powerful OS that uses peanuts of your RAM and installs on your hard drive under 600 MB, then TinyXP is the way to go. If you need to breathe new life into an old computer, you guessed it ? TinyXP is it. Thanks, eXPerience, for the great torrent!
NOTE: Your antivirus may say that this download contains a trojan in the file FFOX.EXE, but it's what is called a false positive. The virus does not exist. That file is a modified installer for Mozilla Firefox. Basically you double-click the file and Firefox is installed on your computer. No windows to skip through. Because this happens, the antivirus thinks it's a virus trying to install itself without you knowing so it tries to shut it down. Do not delete this file as it is essential for TinyXP to install properly, provided you choose to have it installed.
Thanks again, eXPerience, for the great torrent.

Flawless and beautiful all in one. Have done 4 installs now, 2 on sepereate HP desktops, one on a Dell laptop, and 1 on an old PII mutt I just won't through away. #5 install on all machines, not a single flaw or issue. Been using all systems for months with my own software, did I saw this is flawless. Great job.

THANK YOU eXPer1ence !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would be nice to have TinyVista64.. ;)

jpeni (2008-10-21)

I wish Microsoft would hire the eXPerience team and all people involved with creating TinyXP so their skills could be put to legal use creating fantastic unbloated software like this.

MikeTn (2008-10-21)

question: how does option 7 compare with microXP? I am currently using microXP and would like to know it if has any extra features that microXP does not have. If there is no difference, I will wait to DownLoad (dial-up connection)

smartghost911 (2008-10-24)

yes what is the difference between that MicroXP & TinyXP ??

omgwork (2008-10-25)

First of all, thank you eXPer1ence for putting the time into this. Thank you also to all who contributed to helping us out. I have a couple problems I'll lay out now. I am a novice at this kind of thing, but I knew enough to backup my data before I lost everything :)
I chose BARE install with ie, etc, without driverpacks (and many others, but I read that driverpacks in some BSOD instances are to be install after to avoid that problem) and encountered issues. I used partition creation software and formatted with FAT, FAT32, and NTSF and tried the install, and nothing worked. "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer"
Installed? really? What? Since when do you have to 'install' a hard drive? It just is. Help!
Upon install after windows was booted, I get finished with the 39 minutes and receive a fatal error "E:/ROOT/0001/i386/asms"
I read all the comments and I can't seem to find a solution in them for this problem. I burned at 4 or 16x and track-at-a-time and verified. I also get "C:\DSPdsblr" something or other is missing...
Right now I've royally effed my PC to the point of upon startup it says NTLDR is missing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.
If someone would be willing to help me out by walking me through this process I may paypal them some cash ^^
There's something to be said for learning on your own, and I realize I was in for a fight when I reformatted... but I can't even reinstall my original windows. I'm losing money by not having this laptop in operation. I need some help. Please.

Only thing missing in OS-world is TinyXP x64 (64 bit).
The WinBorg x64 version from Bart is way too big. (Who needs Office 2003 if there is OpenOffice.org?)

Hi eXPer1ence, first of of all, i'd like to thak you for your releases. They are awsome. I'm a computer technician and use your releases in old computers. MicroXP works like a charm in old p3 computers and TinyXP Rev0.9 is excellent for Duron an Celeron pcs. Well, i have a question and i hope you can help me, is it posible that you tell me how do you handle te msactivation for sp3 in your releases. I'll leave you my mail, hope you help me. ctsplaya (arroba) msn.com

Thanks - this really rocks. Though I wish that it didn't had auto-login to administrator account. I cannot turn it off.

JoeSmo (2008-11-03)

I've already installed this on three different PCs and went successfully. The latest computer has a Dual Core 2.2 GHz processor and 3 GB of RAM. I expected this to run much much much faster than it has been loading up and shutting down. Everything works fine saving a few bugs. You cannot use Jpegs as your wallpaper; moverover, it must be a Bitmap file in the windows folder. There must be a workaround. When you go to the System Configuration and deselect startup and services programs, you get an error message saying you may not be authorized to edit such commands. I just close it and changes DO apple anyways. I have also found that some portable software I use cause registry errors that I do not receive on full versions of XP. A small feature I like that is missing is that I cannot see recent documents from the start menu. If there are any suggestions to fix these bugs, let me know.

sdmbist (2008-11-04)

It works in vmware with the source set to iso file... but after i write the iso file to cd ... xp instalation stops at 39 min with "incorrect function" error. What i am doing wrong ? i used nero to write the iso to cd ....i tried two different computers ,two different nero's..same error.

frozenCat32 (2008-11-04)

I have a fix for the wallpaper issue:
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/4486960
eXPerience was missing a line that screwed the wallpaper thing up.

Drifter101 (2008-11-06)

When I make an ISO to burn to CD, it comes out over 700 Meg and therefore I can,t make an installation CD.What can I do. Perhaps remove some of the files?

jackyl420 (2008-11-07)

Ok, I have to take some of it back. I have been teying for a couple weeks now, but using TinyXP has stealthed all my ports. I can't get any form of port forwarding to work. I've played with UPnP services and nothing works there either. I can barely hit 100kbs on uTorrent now when I used to get 800kbs or more. Any suggestions guys? I've used some port detective stuff, and no matter what program I use, they all report ports are stealthed. I do a dual boot OS using either Win2Kp or WinXPMC and have no issues on opening/forwarding ports and get great speed so I know its not my programming or issues with ISP blocking, or router setup. Port forwarding is one of the most simple networking issues you can setup. What is TinyXP lacking services wise that could be causing this?

jackyl420 (2008-11-07)

drifter-Are you using an 80min? I am using Nero 6 Ahead and had no problems, slight overburn but i had no issues and did a REALLY SLOW burn.
Anyone else buring iso I can tell you, BURN SLOW. You will find with .iso files it makes a difference with all the install errors I keep seeing you guys post. I did a 4x burn, and have used the disc more than 20times without any error with missing files and such.

KayossZero (2008-11-07)

What's this problem with Wallpapers I'm hearing about?

Drifter101 (2008-11-08)

Jacktl420,
I found the problem, I was using a CD-RW which had to be formated and I guess that must have used some of the disk space. When I used a new CD-R it worked ok ,thanks.
Drifter101

diegugawa (2008-11-13)

Does anybody know if i can install WIN SP3 on tinyxp platinum edition? This one only has SP2 but I like it much more than tinyxp V9

JoeSmo (2008-11-14)

I don't know why so many people are having trouble with burning proper CDs and DVDs. I have used MagicISO to burn the DVD a few times already and haven't had one bad burn. I've also made individual CDs of TinyXP versions to use in old crappy PCs and they have all burned fine and I've burned everything at 40x for CDs and 16x for DVDs.
Also, I've preformed many download/upload tests using programs and dslreports.com and haven't seen any slow speeds. Also, I've checked TinyXP's TCP open connections and the the maximum number of connections are already opened compared to Windows XP's default of only having 10 open connections. I'll check the ports and let you know my findings later.

irishfriar (2008-11-15)

This version contains Antivirus 2009 registrations after install. Shlwapi.dll, WINinet.dll, both infected. After you intialize internet explorer or run a program that accesses the internet through ie or on its own, you will be infected. It's a dirty version. I don't know if this is really eXPerience's release and they accidentally included bad drivers. Or if someone altered the original iso being circulated. Hash check, checksum, and validate. I speak the truth. For those of you receiving a red x in the taskbar, you've been infected and there is virtually no way to clean this OS. If you don't believe me, try your best to remove those two drivers - bet you can't.

irishfriar (2008-11-15)

And for those who mysteriously have brastk.exe or karna.dat on their computer after a reboot, I bet you'll think twice before downloading from this user again. This is not eXPerience, or eXPerience goofed up, or is intentionally bundling it. Run far far away from this torrent. You'll thank me. I'm not the type to holler "OMG VIRUZEZ" all the time. But this is really infected...

irishfriar (2008-11-15)

I don't really know if eXPerience is aware of what's going on with this copy. The size I'm getting from most user's is inaccurate per byte count. Maybe eXPerience has an explanation, it's possible that there is a security problem or an unforseen element here. From what I have discerned, upon first boot... Several runonce programs alter the registry. After accessing the internet, or installing codecs, machine group policies are changed. Perhaps I could be wrong, but drivers are not supposed to be located in certain areas they can be found in TinyXP Rev09....

irishfriar (2008-11-15)

I hope for good news from eXPerience. They've never really been cruel or malicious. Why would they be? I'm sure they have a reasonable idea of what's going on. I'm hopeful it's just a strange incident.

irishfriar (2008-11-16)

Mike you are wrong. MalwareBytes won't even initialize when this thing starts altering your system files. You can delay it, but it will happen due to the fact it's such an infected iso. MalwareBytes won't even initialize when the Antivirus 2009 starts its mutation. Leave your computer running. Don't install anything at all. Just click around for a few hours. Chances are your start button will disappear, your spyware programs no longer run, and anything with spy or virus in it's name will be deleted if you try to launch it. I am trying to save you people a headache, this is not the right iso!!!!!!
I'm not an AVG freak. I hate AVG, I am telling you scan the fucking ISO! Malware Bytes can't remove all of it because the drivers are all infected. IT CAN'T CLEAN THE DRIVERS IN YOUR WINDOWS FOLDER.

fuwad84 (2008-11-16)

Irishfriar,
Honestly, these types of virus are like in 90% of the shit you get off of any of these torrent sites. There usually the disabled, harmless remnents of actual mal. I wouldn't worry about it - its very likely that you have these types of files on your computer already, even with a legit version of windows. What!?!? Did you honestly think a once a month update is gonna protect you from what hackers work on 24/7 no. But worrying about this is the equivalent of worrying if youll get toxoplasmosis just like the other 2/3rds of the worlds population.
Thanks for pointing it out - but none of the anti-virus programs i used picked up anything. That doesnt mean its safe, but safe enough. Don't connect to the internet if your that paranoid.

fuwad84 (2008-11-16)

I also want to add that this is the version that Ive put on a dozen peoples computers, that ive had since may. In my opinion its the best free OS that you can have on your computer. If a few harmless but suspicious files is the price you to have to pay to save $200-$400 for an actual legit version(mind you its very likely you have these files on your computer anyway) so be it!
Point is, FUCK THE OS MONOPOLY - SEED BITCHES!

fuwad84 (2008-11-17)

BEST FREE OPERATING SYSTEM YOU CAN HAVE ON A COMPUTER PERIOD! CLEAN AS A WHISTLE AND PURRS LIKE A KITTEN. MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT I DID'NT FIND IT SOONER. I Like how geek friendly the extra options are on it. For example being able to get to the device manager just by right clicking on 'my computer icon' GENIUS! IF IN NEED OF OS, OR JUST WANT TO FIX OTHER PEOPLES COMPUTERS - BINGO!

fuwad84 (2008-11-17)

Also, I'd like to officially Rat out Isrishfriar for being a microsoft plant. Don't feel bad, you may be outta a job but your boss is still FILTHY RICH!

irishfriar (2008-11-18)

Fuwad, you're a noob dick. You swear praise up and down for this FAKE experience account. They won't even respond to those who have already figured out the virus problems earlier in the torrent's history. ME? A MICROSOFT EMPLOYEE?!!! Ha, go fuck yaself. I love Linux more than I ever would Microsoft. Expose me? How? Cmon seriously fucknut, prove it. This is a fake experience account, and the isos have been changed, the real eXPerience would never upload an iso that had incorrect byte information that showed drastic changes between the authentic and non-authentic versions. Suck a nut, you're done......

 eXPer1ence (2008-11-22)

It is the real eXPerience one and I am the real eXPerience. Just because I tried to register "eXPerience" and it was taken everyone says its some sort of fake account? Why!
Don't grab it then - but do you see any others here huh?
How come if you go join SRN like it says in the NFO and check the MD5 hash posted by eXPerience, its the same hash as here?
How come?!
This is the real deal, if you think otherwise, don't download it FFS.

irishfriar (2008-11-22)

You personally infected people. Wow, eXPerience you are low. How could you? I mean cmon, you're supposed to be fighting for whatever it is you're fighting for in the world of piracy and you're infecting people. That hash is off. I just checked it, either something is in this iso that you're unaware of. Or you're perfectly aware of it. Tell me, do you get paid by Antivirus 2009 for bundling them in the registry and drivers? Did you cut some kind of deal where you got a fatter wallet? You still haven't said a thing about it because you know it's true. You infected these people. Look back, you ignored all of the people who encountered problems because of that trojan you even REGISTERED in the OS.

irishfriar (2008-11-22)

And for you to fucking lie about it, I'll ride this torrent until others see what you've done. I'm not crusading some stupid "omg viruzez" crap. You actually embedded it. No matter what anyone does you embedded it in the registry, in the drivers, and even tucked some files away in places they aren't supposed to be located. I even checked Rev 04 and Rev 06. You masked those files. I'm not some babbling idiot, because I'm the only one whose smart enough to figure out a computer with no internet connection left unattended has to be infected by something. Can you guess what it is? It's called eXPerience.

irishfriar (2008-11-22)

Somewhere along the way you either picked up some nasty files while you were building this iso, or you just decided it'd be funny as hell to plant them. Because you earned everyone's trust with those other releases, like rev 04 and 06 you broke this baby out but didn't tell anyone about the beast underneath it. You see you still won't admit what is IN THE ISO. You can go cry at SnipeR's for all them to come running and testify for you. But you know it's there.... And everyone whose installed it and encountered it knows all too well. So if you're the real eXPerience, I'm not hollering prove it. But you're peppering people easy enough for them to piece it together and figure out you infected all of them.

irishfriar (2008-11-22)

Don't post a shack image on pirate bay. It gets banned immediately.

 Antje14 (2008-11-22)

@irishfriar
One word for you: Idiot

 eXPer1ence (2008-11-22)

irishfriar, you failed to mention one single nasty file. Put your money where your mouth is and start naming some file names.
Normal people post the AV they scanned with and the name of the suspicious file(s).
Also, you're the only one saying what you're saying, wow you must be this genius who found what no one else did, oh but its a secret, you won't list any of the file names, nice.

glamster (2008-11-22)

Here we go again with the "virus in this, virus is that" scaremongering bollox, dont you guys get bored repeating the same old crap?
The only virus i see is yourself but sadly these torrent sites will suffer with two bit trolls like that pos, so people download or dont download. Its your .choice.
David back to you.

irishfriar (2008-11-22)

Alright, fuck it. You download it, you support it, you distribute it. eXPerience, you've done nothing but avoid the previous pages WHICH I'VE ALREADY SAID TO CHECK. You keep saying I'm not mentioning anything, explain why brastk.exe is in this OS after install. Ooops, there's one fucking file you asked for. For those claiming I use Avira, you cheapen the world. And no, I did not identify cmdow or anything of the sort. Antivirus 2009 works several ways, biggest way is to infect WININET. Which is yes, a critical windows file. Now for those who don't believe AV2009 is in the OS, run all your little NOD32, Avira's, and AVG's. Point is this, I'm not the first one whose indentified it on this torrent. And I certainly won't be the last. I don't troll, hell I download more than any of you probably. It's dumbass ,"piracy protectors," that roam torrents and claim there's nothing wrong with them that destroy torrent sites. Tr3 if you can't properly discern imageshack's tos and you hotlink banned images, how the fuck would you even know what a hash check is. And the trojan is INSTALLED AND REGISTERED WITHIN THE OS. So no, you can't fucking scan it before installing it fucknut. It's hidden through runonce, startups, group policies, and system services.
NOOB'd.

irishfriar (2008-11-22)

Oh shit, and would you look at that. Seeders dropped by 40 since yesterday. Oh goodness, it seems more and more people are learning to check out what's been obvious all along. Play your little games eXPerience, claim nothing's wrong. But I'm pretty sure you've got a big fuckin clue as to why these things after WITHOUT AN INTERNET CONNECTION ENABLED AND NOTHING INSTALLED after one reboot. Cmon man, just admit you might have made a little mistake. See it's when you're honest people respect you more. Until then, all people have to do is click on the previous pages and find the comments you're avoiding and all your extra accounts and little buddies from your forums keep denying exist. This is a stable OS sure. Until you compromised this "revision," by using outsourced drivers. Some pretty mad wicked system changes after playing around in the OS man. And you still won't explain them. No matter, I don't use your cheap hackware anyways. I'm smart enough to disable what you say you,"removed and improved." Same XP, same fps.

irishfriar (2008-11-22)

You didn't do anything special, you're not some coding genius and you didn't develop a diaper bag full of shit. You cherry picked the OS. And that's ALL YOU DID. You get no kudos from me, or from those who know Windows. And you can cry all you want, you got famous by providing a no validation required scrape plate lunchbox. I don't work for Microsoft, fuck Microsoft. But I don't pretend to revolutionize a dead OS. Kiss my ASS.

Maybe you should have a nice cup of shut your fuckin hole? :)

sappy20000 (2008-11-22)

Hi there,
I am trying to install Japanese on it. I know eXPerience had remove the extra language. But I try to go to regional setting, checkbox the install asian fonts, copy the font files from a XP CD, but I still can't read Japanese.
Is there a reason why?

ntoskrnl (2008-11-22)

irishfriar, all I can think of you is that you're either a 10 year old kid, Gaymerman or SirWhitey.
And you said you love Linux... Now there's another point. Usually people who 'love' Linux are some kids that think they're 1337 when they use Linux and not "Micro$oft".
Also... You keep arguing about seeding of this. Do you understand that the amount of seeders varies? Do you understand that not everyone has their computer on 24/7 seeding? Do you understand that people live in different time zones? Do you understand that you're wrong in everything? Do you understand that you will be flamed hereafter all the time?
Have a nice day, pus pus.

irishfriar (2008-11-23)

You think I give a shit what a group of euro babies thinks about me? Most of you are WoW freaks who never take showers and chew on your bad teeth all day. And AV2009 isn't recent. It existed before this torrent was uploaded. 05-26. I did download it, otherwise how the fuck would I encounter some gay ass shit like this crap???

irishfriar (2008-11-23)

AV 2008 existed in 2007. Take your moms 2 balls and put them in your mouth.

skyfalcon (2008-11-23)

Oh my. I do not understand why you guys are arguing so much over this.
First of: irishfriar is just stating her opinions/comments about this torrent which he/she has a full right to do so seeing that this is the "comments" section. This person is just fulfilling what they think is right and informing people on her own ideas. Now, it is up to whoever is looking at this to use it or not.
Personally, I plan on using it. Heck, I'm burning it to a CD right now. Currently I'm using Micro XP by eXPerience. The only reason why I am going to switch is because I want to try something out that concerns my wireless card.
Now, ntoskrnl, you said " Usually people who 'love' Linux are some kids that think they're 1337 when they use Linux and not "Micro$oft"."
I don't think that really applies to a lot of people. Sure many do feel that way. But, I say that I "love" Linux. I don't feel 1337 or anything. I happen to like the environment that Linux provides better than Microsoft. If games were ported to Linux, I would not even think twice about getting rid of Windows. But, I love games. Hence the reason why I am going to use the tinier version of XP.
As for virus and malware. Like I care. If there is, oh well. If there aren't, yay! Either way, as long as it doesn't give that much of a significant impact on me, I don't care.
As a final note, many thanks to eXPerience for making these trimmed down versions of XP and Vista. I tried making my own version, but I can't do as much as you did on your versions ^^

irishfriar (2008-11-23)

James1o1o I want you to go fuck yourself. Undeniable proof. Wtf. It can't be done, I could show files all day long that got handpicked from driver websites and aren't even signed and registry alterations that aren't used, aren't worth anything, and perform shady cleanup and alteration of system information etc etc and all you boys over at your little forums would scream " LIAR DON'T HAVE THAT FILE ON MY XP!"

irishfriar (2008-11-23)

All of you are some happy ass anal-pirates tongue kissin each other. eXPerience got famous doing what everyone can do. Streamlined, programmed, revised, decompiled, assembled, bullshit. That mother fucker sat around, sucked alot of dick and wouldn't even answer my genuine question of what the fuck was goin on with brastk.exe after nothing was on the computer and why his drivers were different from SP3's which HE CLAIMS HE used. There's a bad IP in the torrent, a handful of people reporting problems directly related to AV 2009 and Brastk, and you got some dumbasses thinking burn speed has something to do with this iso. If your drive is more than 8 years old, you shouldn't even think about using it. And if you were burning with a decent application that wouldn't do it either. eXPerience is a tutorial reading lame duck that couldn't even offer support for his own release.

irishfriar (2008-11-23)

Shame on my ass for thinking he was doing something for the community. And shame on you dick riding homos at the SRN forums trying to win his fight for him. It wouldn't have even been a fight if he answered what's going on with these drivers, the AV 2009 problem, the fact that not only me but other people have reported it from the same torrent, and his bitch ass didn't run and tattle like a 4 year old to his "release groupies." XP is dead anyway, and I can't believe you dumbasses think this is a better client. IT'S THE SAME OS. HE DID NOTHING. It's not for gaming, you can disable all the services he merely "broke," and validation isn't even an issue nowadays! All of you are suckers, and he's nothing but an internet fake. He doesn't even know where his drivers came from. He's ate up like a shit sturred curry.....

irishfriar (2008-11-23)

Oh yeah you guys are real gangster saying "eXPerience would never do this and that," how would you know? You stickin your finger in his ass? Just download this shit and shut your mouth. You'll believe anything that's handed to you on tpb if you can't find anything else conveniently. eXPerience is no hero, he's a chump. And now everyone knows it.

ntoskrnl (2008-11-23)

irishfriar, make a modded OS that is as good as this one and I'll use it and take everything I've said back. You say eXP hasn't done anything strange, but try modding XP to these levels and come back. Or maybe you shoulnd't come back.
And how come doesn't anybody else have these viruses in their copies of TinyXP? You're the only one who complains.

irishfriar (2008-11-23)

Bitch how many times do I have to say read the fuckin pages on this torrent. I bet if you read them, your ass would get dry mouth from the dick you just filled your face with.
He didn't ,"mod," anything. He just stripped it and ,"broke," programs that are still hardcoded in the OS. He just didn't include the critical files they run on, and decided to "skip out on somethings." Mod an OS. Man get off that wannabe's dick....

irishfriar (2008-11-24)

Quit spacing all your crap out and quoting me you fuck, it just makes you look like you can't defend yourself.
And don't call me your mate you ass fucking faggot. If you say you read the whole fucking comments section you're lying. ChristianPeso noticed the problem with this torrent first. All the programs bundled are way off normal size, you dumb mother fuckers keep defending him saying whatever you can to save his rep, and in short. He does not know where he got these drivers from, he collected them from 3rd party driver websites thinking they all worked the same. And the drivers he ,"used," from SP3? They're from SP2. He BROKE HALF the things that were included in XP. He didn't recode a goddamn thing.

irishfriar (2008-11-24)

Look man, I don't have anything against gays. And I don't have anything against eXPerience for trying to do something new. I actually supported him, I believed in him a little. But he won't admit where he got these drivers from and one of them is signed by DLL-Files? eXperience why did you lie to me? And why can't you see MORE THAN ONE PERSON IS SERIOUSLY ASKING FOR YOUR HELP ABOUT IT. ADMIT THE DRIVERS AREN'T SOLELY YOURS.
If eXPerience admits it is possible someone hijacked his torrent, and that some people ARE ACTUALLY INFECTED. I will take everything I said back. That is all I am asking. Because truthfully, he knows what's going on. There's no way more than one person, from two seperate ip's, two seperate continents would say something about it - if there wasn't something suspicious. I'm waiting on the real eXPerience to admit, it is possible at least people are receiving an altered file through the bad ip in the torrent or through a hijacked torrent.

irishfriar (2008-11-24)

So how can you say this torrent is clean when it's not James1o1o if I have to check every download, reinitialize the download if it's not right and hope I get the right iso etc.... Fuck that. ChristianPeso got infected, bi20 got infected, I got infected. The torrent is dirty. I'm not up against any wall, because you TinyXP freaks are screaming,"OMG NEVER GONNA LEAVE XP NOW," I'm saying he did not test each one of these drivers, and I think he should have at least acknowledged three of us who were infected by his newest,"revision." I held off on this version for a reason, now it's even clearer. I was finally able to find a solution to get rid of this brastk crap. And it wasn't MalwareBytes cause the bitch couldn't even find it.

smackedme (2008-11-24)

This one is definitely the way to go. No viruses. ISO file. Not compressed in frustrating RAR or ZIP. This is just the best torrent for Tiny XP. Thanks for the upload

coolboi (2008-11-24)

This is Home Edition! How can we install IIS? There is no option...

 eXPer1ence (2008-11-24)

People are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory again I see.
LMFAO - So its the "Home" version, just because you "can't install IIS", right then... did you not think IIS might be removed?
Hey man you can't see the sun at night - that means it "does not exist" until next morning?

meowing (2008-11-24)

eXPerience, since you seem to never create a Tiny XP x64, I will steal some basics and make my own.

ntoskrnl (2008-11-24)

"Quit spacing all your crap out and quoting me you fuck, it just makes you look like you can't defend yourself."
Hahahaha, thanks! That definitely made my day!
Also, it wasn't christianpeso who first noticed that "the torrent is infected". He just quoted somebody. Maybe YOU should actually read all the comments as you suggest us to?
And yes, AFAIK, SimpleXP has no eXPerience approval.

ntoskrnl (2008-11-25)

No he hasn't created it. Definitely. And he hasn't given permission to make it either.

fuwad84 (2008-11-26)

IrishLIAR,
Wow I can't believe your STILL on babbling a whole week AFTER i owned your ass. Microsoft must REALLY be paying you over time or something mr "i love linux" than go use it and leave us alone!
Ok friar, so I took your advice and installed this OS on an old computer i have running in my basement, installed the 1st option and just let it run with out anything else on it, for a whole week...I wasted my electricity for you! Week goes by and nothing has disapeared, ran process explorere on it, found nothing out of the ordinary. so than I hook up the network cable to it and went to Esets free online virus scan and guess what it found? Nothing. Just like your arguements.
Since your such an expert programmer please enlighten us as to where exactly are these super duper secret (imaginary) mals?
I want locations not just some made up horror stories about how some secret program is gonna turn my computer into a toaster.
I expect some links, either that or please redirect us to a better virus free(as according to Irish friar) version of Windows
So heres your options as of now
A. Post the locations of these bin-laden like virus'
B. Post a virus-free version of Windows we can download
C. Shut the hell up and sit on my fat stinky Arab cock!

fuwad84 (2008-11-26)

Oh and one last thing since you so into virus's and what not....why dont ya come out over to where i live...Ill show ya a few virus's that NO software can fix and unlike you Im willing to name locations...Right on the tip of my COCK! You should be feeling it ripping up your insides any second now- yeah ya like htat? Its ok Anal penitration always hurts the first time...dont worry bout the spotting, itll clean right up = )

Rewey (2008-11-26)

I'm afraid I have to agree with Irishfriar here - there is definitely something going on with this version.
Don't get me wrong - I love eXPerience's work, and have just upgraded from TinyXP Rev06, which I found the most stable OS I've ever used.
However, I've installed this version 9 times now on the same computer, after each time getting infected with brastk.exe and karna.dat (all part of XP Antivirus 2009), and also the VRT1.tmp, VRT2.tmp series. The thing is, after the first 6 reinstalls, I unplugged my internet connection, and did not install any other software. Sure enough, the red cross in the taskbar shows up and I've got XP Antivirus 2009. Before anyone suggests it, I format the HD before each install.
I've run Malwarebytes, and SDFix, Threatfire and Spyware Doctor Antivirus, amongst other things, and none of them can do anything about it, hence why I have to reinstall each time, trying to work out where it's coming from.
I only found this thread by typing 'problems with TinyXP Rev09' into Google. I'm not here to cop all this friggin' crap from people - just want to share MY experience with this file. If you don't believe me, and want to call me a friggin' liar, yada yada yada, well... there's nothing I can do about that - all the best to you...
I'm either trying to find a clean version, or finding a copy of Rev08 and see if that works.
Rewey

coolboi (2008-11-26)

so, it is still possible to install IIS? How? Thanks.

coolboi (2008-11-26)

so is it still possible to install IIS? How? Thanks

ntoskrnl (2008-11-26)

Okay. There are two people that claim this has viruses. Then there's 2000 people who don't even have those files on their version of the download. Who to trust?

Rewey (2008-11-27)

James1o1o - I think you misread what I've said. Please don't misquote me...
I'm not saying Rev06 had XP Antivirus, in fact I said it's the 'most stable OS I've used'. I only updated to Rev09 because I'd been using Rev06 for a year and a half or so, and wanted to upgrade with all the hotfixes, updates, etc.
It is THIS version, Rev09, which keeps coming up with XP Antivirus, which is why I said I'd reinstalled THIS version 9 times - every time it comes up, I can't get rid of it, and do a format and reinstall. I'm just saying it's funny that it would also appear on the three times I've done a reinstall without having a physical internet connection, or without installing other software.
The VRT1.tmp is known by a number of scanners, like Prevx, as malware. When you delete it, it comes back as VRT2.tmp, and so on.
Ntoskrnl - I'm not saying you have to trust me. Like I said, I'm just pointing out my experience with this particular version.
I just think it would be great if people could do that without having to cop all the sh!t that some people do, like I'm trying to slander eXPerience, or something. It's called having the capacity for independent thought.

sappy20000 (2008-11-27)

@Tr3bG0D
Thanks dude, I will try your link and see if I can restore Japanese to display.
Take care.

fuwad84 (2008-11-27)

Rewey ,
If you are being honest than thank you very much for that.
My experience along with the experience of many of the people who'm ive installed this OS on differs signifigantly from yours and there for i am skeptical and curious.
Because of that I have some quick questions that you should have no problem answering.
Where did you find the components of AntiVirus2009 on your copy of TinyXP Rev09? From what folder was VRT1.tmp operating from on your hardrive? Where was brastk.exe and karna.dat?
Surely you know of them because you are using something besides just the task manager as these files are GREAT at hiding themselves. Either process explorer or that free system analyzer from Eset.com orsomething. Please run that same software copy and paste both the file name and location please.
I will not reply to another one of your posts untill you do that.

fuwad84 (2008-11-27)

I would also like to add that a major tenet to independant thought in any field of human knowledge is the ability to question and cross examine.
Lets say for Example I proclaim that the sky is blue and present my evidence for it, mabe a color chart.
Someone is free to come along and examine that color chart or other relevent evidence. If they find something that they feel disagree's with my idea than they are free to express those arguments.
However in order to have credibility in any argument you need to present facts as your evidence backing up your claim. Or else I could just as easliy fire back with "NO YOUR WRONG" and present no evidence as well.
What was a plesant orderly debate has now become a shouting match...noone wins.

fuwad84 (2008-11-27)

Hey!
Think about this.
Ok lets say there are virus' and what ever in Rev09 - I mean hypothetically, lets just say there are.
Ok well your getting an operating system that would otherwise cost you like $150 so you could do one of two things.
Either imediatly install your favorite security suite OR go out and BUY(yeah I know we all hate that word) Norton 360 or Kaspersky or Bit defender from wallmart youll spend like $70 at most and have a legit version of the best security software out there and than scan the whole computer
IF it turns that this virus is soo secret and illusive that it cant be cleaned/detected and no windows update exist that can fix it...well than don't use this OS as a banking commerce server.
Hows that sound?

irsihfriar (2008-11-27)

Hey guys its me again
Ok so you wanted proof huh, HUH!
well I gots it right here!
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j193/fouad84/ImageBG.jpg

See I told yall youll get a virus, and heres further proof
I took these photos myself mind you!
http://www.mdconsult.com/das/pdxmd/media/0302/7030201/large.jpg

So becarful when downloading this or any pirated version of Microsoft ware - mabe you'd prefer Apple Leopard instead?

Rewey (2008-11-27)

Fuwad84 - the VRT files were showing up in the windows\temp folder. Threatfire or Spyware Doctor was picking them up. Every time you quarantied them, another would show up minutes later, but with the next number (ie. VRT1.tmp, VRT2.tmp, and so on). I don't think these are related to XP Antivirus in any way.
Brastk.exe and karna.dat were in the windows folder, and karna.dll was showing up in windows\system32. From what I understand about XP Antivirus 2009, these files aren't actually malicious, but they are being reported as malicious, and directing you to a website where you can buy this so-called XP Antivirus 2009 to get rid of them. Even though they are not malicious, if you simply delete them, they'll sure-as-shit be there again next time you start up.
Right now my computer is rooted. It doesn't come out of standby, and when you start up, it the desktop appears, but you can't use anything (no keyboard shortcuts or mouse control). The ONLY way I can get it to work is to hit the reset button, restart in safe mode, run SDFix, which then reboots after scanning, then it finishes its scan after reboot in normal mode, and then I can use it. I have to do this every time I turn the thing on. Hence why this is my 9th go at Rev09, and I'm seeing if anyone else is getting the same thing (thus my original google search I mentioned) or I'm trying to find a 'clean' version.
I downloaded two more versions of Rev09 to try (one of which was blatantly ripped off by someone calling themselves TheReids). I will probably try these two...

Rewey (2008-11-27)

And Fuwad84 - I've got no reason to bullsh!t anyone here. I don't know eXPerience from a furry turd (although I would like to think I could guess). I love his versions of TinyXP, and think that Bill Gates must sit up at night wondering how someone could make his own baby THAT much better.
I don't care if anyone does or doesn't download this - it means nothing to me. I just want people to use SOME version of TinyXP, because I will never go back to a legit version since a friend put me on to it some time back.
Never, never, never, Bill. Stop calling me.

fuwad84 (2008-11-28)

Rewey,
Thank you very much for the specifics, although I myself have never detected any of these files with the numerous anti-virus programs I have.
For the next week I will be taking a very close and intimate look at my ISO of TinyXP Rev09 and I will be asking all of my friends who have this OS on there computer to run a very deep anti-virus scan with the various security suites that they have.
If I find nothing than I will re-download this ISO install it on the old computer downstairs and see if anything shows up.
Thank you again for informing us.

Rewey (2008-11-28)

And there we go. Like I said, what's the point of having an area to add comments, if the only ones people like to read are those blowing sunshine up people's asses?
Like I said, I'll try the other two Rev09 iso's I downloaded.
Yeah, yeah, this is the most awesome thing on the planet. I'm going to name my first child TinyXP and my second one Rev09.
In all seriousness, eXPerience - the TinyXP releases have been groundbreaking stuff...

fuwad84 (2008-11-29)

Ok, I'm back with a verdict as to the cleanliness of TinyXP Rev09.
Although I said I'd take about a week its only taken me one afternoon to scan deeply threw all the driver packs and what not using every anti-everything software from Avast to Eset to NLight to Zonealarm and now for my verdict...
If you are going to install TinyXP Rev09 on your computer than make sure you have the drivers you need on hand and ALWAYS pick option 1 or 2 ALWAYS - trust me its such a pain in the ass when you do it anyother way - Also your computer will actually run FASTER(Right, I dont know how to explain it mabe I mean smoother) with Option 1 or 2.
Now as for the virus's malware what have you...there were none that I found, HOWEVER if you have an old Matrox 16MB graphics card(like really 1998 old) get the driver from the internet the one on here is messed up.
Heres another reason why I like option 2, because the way they update is soo stream line that you can actually get most of your needed drivers from Microsoft - because your shit will pass WGA REMEMBER!!!!
Yep folks that verdict,
Pick option 1 for a computer with 512MB or more Ram
Option 2 for an older computer
EITHER ONE OF THOSE TWO, IGNORE ALL OTHER OPTIONS(cept 9 for when your shit crashes)
Also i recommend you get your own drivers ahead of time rahter than wait for the super driver pack - ALSO
THIS SHOULD BE THE FIRST PROGRAM YOU SHOULD EVER INSTALL ON ANY COMPUTER
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/4257661/ESET_Smart_Security_B.Edt_v3.0.667_(32-bit)_10years-HeartBug

ESET SMART SECURITY BUSINESS ED.
Just click the exe
and choose the typical install option
when it asks you for user name and pw leave them black and click on "set up user name pw later"
check the threat sense box, check the enable bad software detection button and thats it
And let it update on its own, dont manually do it - itll never work that way.
PEACE and again NO VIRUS'S FOUND ON THIS ENTIRE ISO - NONE
STOP CLAIMING THERE ARE ANY - I JUST DOWNLOADED THIS ONE YESTERDAY FOUND NONE!
ARGUMENT SETTLED!
Now wheres my sandwhich you WHORE!

ntoskrnl (2008-11-29)

As you all see - we've been saying that^ forever.
Irishfriar turned up to be a childish liar who just wants attention and fuwad's case was a virus from somewhere else, not from the ISO here.

-RENEGADE-SOLACE-X (2008-12-07)

Call me a n00b, which im not, its probably just another vistax64 glitch, but why does the iso state that its 700mb meanwhile its 33303mb???????????

-RENEGADE-SOLACE-X (2008-12-07)

btw ive dl'd this torrent 4 times from 3 different sites and im still geting the SAME FUCKING ERROR:-)

proliffix (2008-12-08)

can i install this on to a SATA drive?

proliffix (2008-12-08)

I think I'm being really stupid. Which of the files/folders do I need to put on the bootable disk?

proliffix (2008-12-08)

but its far to big to put the ISO on a CD?

n3v3rm1nd (2008-12-09)

Anyone got checksum for this? Need to verify..

JoeSmo (2008-12-11)

I found the fix for Recent Documents not showing up in the Start Menu.
http://billjr.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!28CBD6442F406227!774.entry

ntoskrnl (2008-12-11)

MD5 is on the first comment page...
@JoeSmo: It's not a glitch, it's a tweak... Most people prefer having an as small as possible start menu, and remove unnecessary stuff from it like the "Recent documents" menu.

Trashdiggers101 (2008-12-11)

i downloaded this and put it on a cd but while it was installing windows a couple of the files didnt work and windows wouldnt boot....any suggestions

JoeSmo (2008-12-12)

Yes, I know the eXperience team did a very good job of reducing the registry but I found another tweak. For those you want to change their desktop, this is how to get the wallpaper working. Go to the Group Policies (run -> gpedit.msc), click on Adminstrative Templates in User Configuration. Then expand Desktop and then Active Desktop. In the right pane double Disable Active Desktop to change its settngs. Change the bullet from Not Configured to Disables, Apply and OK. Now you should be able to change your wallpaper to any jpeg in any directory.

JoeSmo (2008-12-12)

Oh, if you want to change the registered name from exPerience to yours, change the Registered Owner and Registered Company subkeys to what you want in the registery by navigating to the following key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\Current Version

Mordar (2008-12-12)

When I try to install this it asks first for the "Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2" CD. If I click Ok, it goes on to request the file "asms" from it. How do I solve this problem?

ntoskrnl (2008-12-12)

@Mordar:
ASMS errors are because of bad burns. Did you do what the NFO says? It tells you to burn with ImgBurn, at the slowest speed, and remember to tick the "Verify" box.

Mordar (2008-12-12)

ntsokrnl: Actually, that wasn't the problem. The problem was that it was trying to run another windows installation I had started earlier, but quit because I lacked a serial key. It simply didn't boot from the CD, and instead went on to try and continue the previous installation.
It seems to be working fine now, when I mounted in Daemon Tools and simply copied onto an empty CD (using my normal speed). Maybe I was lucky, but I haven't encountered any problems yet.

Scwr22 (2008-12-13)

Can this function like an x64 OS?

andrew0184 (2008-12-14)

I have installed the previous Rev can anyone look and help me at my question:
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/4155785/Windows_TinyXP_Rev08_-_Windows_XP_Professional_Corp_SP3

thank you

katarinen (2008-12-18)

Could anyone direct me to a tinyXP support forum (or any place to discuss tiny)? Searches didn't provide much help... Or could I post my problem here (though it's not directly rev09 related)?

FoxtrotV (2008-12-18)

katarinen, if it's not related to tinyXP why do you want to post it at the tiny xp support forums???

ntoskrnl (2008-12-18)

@katarinen:
Go to SRN. http://forum.retestrak.nl/
The NFO says that.
However, remember that it's not 100% a TinyXP forum. And you might not have access directly to the right sections.

katarinen (2008-12-19)

@FoxtrotV: I said it's not directly rev09 related. ;) I have TinyXP rev06 (and planning to switch to 09) and would really like to get to know the distros a bit better but most boards refuse to discuss modified OS...
Anyway, thanks ntoskrnl for the link, I missed it somehow in the nfo. Cheers!

katarinen (2008-12-19)

Thanx Jarllax, I'm new to TinyXP and could use all the help I could get.
Anyway, the combination of windows media player and the famous last.fm player/scrobbler crashes the system. A complete standstill. I removed the wmp and sort of fixed the bug but fuwad84 recommended choosing the options that include wmp so now I'm pretty confused about what to do... I only found that that combo crashes win2k as well. Everything worked flawlessly until recent fresh install and would like to know what's wrong. Now, from time to time it shows cpu usage of 50% and more without any programs running or visible process strain.. Everything lags of course and the only fix is a restart. Could be a virus, but I still need to troubleshoot that...
And to think I was loading it with bunch of programs just a week ago without any trouble lol..

katarinen (2008-12-19)

Thanks a bunch for the link :)
I'm in for yet another reinstall so I might as well test this one..
I do have all the programs I need, I just need them all to work together lol
By the way, praise to eXperience, I ran some more demanding software on rev06 without a glitch.. The shit started when I got cocky and began bloating it with unnecessary features. I need spanking...

@katarinen
Hey can you post up the specs of your pc? The reason I ask is cuz ive installed this iso on a number of pc's even a buttload of older ones(like this pos that was built a day before 9/11) and for the most part they would work ok. Anyway my suggestion is to get process explorer you can get it here
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

It will list all the processes running and when you go to view>select columns>process memory tab>and check the private bytes tab
Now arrange all the listed programs by how much private bytes there using, that should tell you of the bloatware your installing what n the heck is taking up so much realestate.

katarinen (2008-12-20)

@fuwad84:
P4 2.8gHz (hyper threading on), 512mb ddr, MS-6788, GeForce FX 5200.
It's a grandpa but can still manage everything I'm asking it to, thanx to TinyXP....

fuwad84 (2008-12-21)

probably something you installed than...like I said use the process explorer and find out - best of luck BTW! OH and if it turns out that its your security suite giving you shit, may I recommend....
ESET Smart Security the greatest security suite ever ...and also the lightest, strangely enough!?!
Its so good that I would actually buy it if I had the money.

Is it just me or has anyone else had probelms installing Adobe products. I have tried to run CS4 but when i click the setup.exe nothing happens. help!, btw im not a noob

coolboi (2009-01-03)

hi, unfortunately your windows xp doesnt work on Compaq Presario CQ40-107AU.
It gives this error:
STOP: 0x0000007B
(0xF741B84C,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

What should I do? Or can you direct me to an XP that will work on CQ40-107AU? Thanks

leon_a_d (2009-01-06)

I have used TinyXP platinum edition 2 in the past and thought it was great! I have since lost the disk that I had it burnt to and thought I would give the rev09 a go. I am not sure if this is the same as the comment above, but unfortunately I get a blue screen of death after choosing option 1, the installer has loaded the initial set of drivers etc... and before I am asked where I would like to install to etc... I have a dell xps 710 which has a nvidia nforce 590 motherboard with a raid0 disk as its primary. I get the same behavior when trying to install tinyxp Christmas Edition. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Many thanks for your help and for the continued effort in these tinyXP releases.

irishfriar (2009-01-07)

Hey fuwad, want to know what's funny? The difference between your fake account and mine is one letter and a job. I never worked for Microsoft and in fact, it is against Microsoft's creed to even register on a site like this. It breaks their employment policy. So now.... You look like a bitch for registering a fake account when you thought I was ghost. And two, you're getting your boy exper1ence spitroasted from both ends by fakin shit with your cheap foreign interweb tactics. Shut your mouth you illiterate shit. I've never even been married so swallow balls and eat a dick. You haven't seen a pussy since you fell out your mom. ..:.

fuwad84 (2009-01-07)

Wow irsihfriar,
For someone who supposedly never worked at Microsoft you sure know alot about their code of conduct.
So which irsihfriar am I talking to anyway?
Is this the fake one or the real one!?!?
Did you ever get that Hepatitis outta your penis?
And if that's not your wife I've been boning than tell your hot Mom that I left my watch on her nightstand.
So where ya been? Did that super massive trogen virus that hidden on TinyXP eat you alive and you just now were excreted from its anus?

fuwad84 (2009-01-08)

Hey I'm not the one posting photos of my herpi infected penis and claiming I got it from my computer. If thats not spamming than I dont know what spamming is!

@Fuwad, man you're lame. Your comebacks are gay. You gotta be euro.
@ntoskrnl Actually, I haven't even touched the quality rating. ;) It's cause your boy eXPerience has been neglecting support. And instead of helping people, he blasts them.
His shit is getting haters on its own.

ntoskrnl (2009-01-13)

@irishfriar: I'll tell him that he should help people with trouble, I've grown him up badly, I'm a bad father.
But seriosly, why doesn't he come and answer here? Because TPB is full of shite like you, nobody wants to read this. If you want answers to problems, read the NFO:

By the way is this going to be faster than rev05 which is what im moving from, or is this info on a wait and see basis ? ;)

wipeout22 (2009-02-06)

Can anyone recommend a program to save all your original drivers,so it makes it easier to install.I thought I had most of my drivers backed up in a folder, but ran into a couple snags with some audio drivers.Tiny xp is going to be installed on a HP pc. I need some strategies on driver installation.Should I use option 2 without driver packs, and try to install all my original drivers.I have 93 drivers,so this gets confusing.

wipeout22 (2009-02-09)

why bother not worth the hassle

Burchill (2009-02-11)

Anyone who's installed this week having trouble with WGA?
I've installed this loads of times and this is the first time it's given me bother.
wipeout22 - Drivermax is decent, you have to register but it's free
http://www.drivermax.com/
Oh, and I wouldn't restore your graphics drivers, get them fresh.

mcleod9 (2009-02-15)

My question with this release is whether people use it on their everyday desktops.
Namely, do ppl have trouble installing or upgrading any apps?
Would you use this in a work environment or only for an older machine that is mostly for web and word processing?
Thanks for any thoughts!

fuwad84 (2009-02-16)

mcleod9,
having had installed this successfully on over 30 PC's I can honestly say that this version of Windows should give you no problems what so ever no matter what you wish to do with it.
However it seems that remote desktop help does not work on this - inother words I think you have to enable it or get a different program to remotely fix other peoples computers.
Ive installed nearly engineering, photo editing, tax preparing and office windows based software thats programmed in english and I can honestly say you will not have a problem with this OS.
Good luck man.
YO WIPEOUT,

mcleod9 (2009-02-16)

@fuwad84 - Thanks for the thoughts and info. I'll figure something else out for RD. VNC or LogMeIn or something.

petersky (2009-02-17)

The installer gives an "Error Booting From CD/DVD drive" on an iMac. Others (at forums.MacRumors.com) reported the same exact problem with installation on a Macbook. It appears that the installer used by TinyXP doesn't work with Macintel machines at this time. (By contrast, I am able to install Windows XP Professional on the iMac from the commercial CD-ROM.) By the way, if you get this disc stuck in your iMac (like I did), hold down the mouse (preferrably the genuine Apple one) while booting to eject it.

AkQ (2009-02-26)

How come so few knows about these, lovely versions of XP
These are GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!!
Im your big fan, eXPer1ence!!

ffeuerstein (2009-03-06)

Remote Desktop Connection is missing in this release. Any way to enable it?

Metalsand (2009-03-11)

Does it have laptop support?

AmiaCalva311 (2009-03-11)

when i installed this it says i wasnt administrator so i couldnt install any programs!

majinbejitto (2009-03-15)

Just get a fresh copy of WinXP Pro and nLite it. There were several important DLL's missing after initial installation with TinyXP, and some services are just irreparable. I can't even unblock ports with this thing.

AeronPrometheus (2009-03-20)

Is anybody else suddenly getting Windows Genuine Advantage errors with all experience releases?

stevenm (2009-03-20)

Hi guys,
Now this may just be my computer, but when I try to install it, the driverpacks all extract at the same time and overloads my system. Fortunately, 7-zip stops when it senses this, so installation continues, but I thought I would bring this to your attention.

bringit55 (2009-03-22)

I have just got the windows validation pop up, anyone know how to get round this? It delays start up and leaves the annoying box on the desktop.

Yes Aeron, I am.

regitradus (2009-04-08)

Yeah. I can confirm that WGA no longer works on this release. Must have been an update pushed out last week? But I don't even have Auto Update turned on! Oh well. It was good while it lasted. Very good. Now I'm gonna have to reinstall original XP on the 3 PCs I put this on... :(

lilbastad (2009-04-08)

Hi! Thank u for this fantastic release!
Will there be a TABLET PC version one day?
Many students are looking for XP with tablet pc features cause one can get cheap x41t oder x61t today.

is it safe to install? thanks

coolboi (2009-04-11)

ok. ive installed Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130).
everything looks ok. no WGA piracy indicator or whatsoever.

regitradus (2009-04-14)

I am getting pop up on desktop, no wallpaper and the message at log in. I've had tinyxp on my laptop for about a year and only had this problem from last week...

coolboi (2009-04-14)

vlk is blocked. but i can still download some updates.... hmmm...

Varkrath0 (2009-04-21)

I have been using tinyXP since it first came out. Recently i have been installing win7 on my machines but i havn't noticed anything on my other comps.
@coolboi how are you determining that the VLK is blocked?
In my experience (no pun intended) after installing XP you can change the serial number to any type of s/n you want. So, if you have a VLK install CD, you use the VLK, and after install you use the change s/n trick to a valid s/n and all is well. I happen to have another VLK that i use sometimes so i would like to know how you can tell it is it black listed. Anyone know if the s/n for XP Black is blocked too?

Varkrath0 (2009-04-21)

just remembered where i learned that you can change to a different type of serial number for validation... remember the original leaked VLK? FCKGW-RHQQ2-blah blah... i had the whole thing memorized for a long time... So, it might not work with all the changes since then. Between TinyXP, UBCD4Win and DigiWiz's MiniPE... you can do anything. Every utility you will ever need is on one of those. I also keep a Hiren's BootCD around, but TinyXP has everything but the LiveXP part of Hiren's 9.8

Best Windows EVER!

katarinen (2009-04-29)

the versions with driverpacks are a pain in the ass, just won't install. I'm off to find the drivers elsewhere and try once more, if this fails as well, I'm going back to rev06

katarinen (2009-04-30)

installed flawlessly without the drivers. so people, listen to fuwad and choose option no.2

MeTuLHeD (2009-05-15)

Wow! This looks VERY cool. I'm about to reformat and I'm gonna give this version a try. One question though...will I be able to install this to a SATA hard drive? In other words, does it load SATA drivers for the installation process?

_HeC_ (2009-06-13)

thanks for this but anyone else having issue setting up ur home network? my network wizard keeps on giving me a error msg and wont complete
i burned this using IMGburn at the 2X speed and installed using option #7 and had a couple errors during install
this picture is where i had 3 error msgs saying it couldnt install
http://apcmag.com/images/tinyxp_01.jpg
any help would be greatly appreciated :)

_HeC_ (2009-06-14)

i installed again and the error msg i get while in the install process is not enough space to install or something like that which makes no sense, also i get a msg about my virtual memory being low
theres no way im short on space as i have a 20gig hard drive that was completely wiped out just for tinyXP

minimind (2009-06-18)

coolboi, i have figured out a way to fix the vlk. but for this, i'll have to build and release my own version.

HyvelTjuven (2009-06-18)

I'm going to reinstall XP on an old slow computer but I have some questions about this build.
What is VLK?
And why would you not want to install the version that gives you all the driver-updates needed (nr. 1 in the list)?
And is there any risk that this version of XP might get pwnd and I will end up with messages saying that the version of XP is fake?

{Reingold} (2009-07-05)

A 699MB file is not a tiny XP. I have a fully uncompressed, full version of XP gold (no service pack) here that I use all the time. It is only 462MB and runs very clean with me being able to get total running processes down to 12 showing in the task manager. What are you doing wrong with your install uploader?

{Reingold} (2009-07-14)

I'm sorry I complain about that eXPerience. I was rash and didn't read your write-up until now.

peanutness (2009-07-27)

Ok, someone please fill me in here:
I am a gamer. I play all sorts of games.
I also surf, and use instant messaging.
With an Pentium 3, I really could use a faster computer.
I was planning on reformatting (Currently on XP Pro SP3)
Is TinyXP For me?
If so, what option should i choose?

ntoskrnl (2009-08-03)

TinyXP is for you.
Choose option 1.
Also check out TinyXP Christmas 2008 Edition, that's a newer release.

HELP !!!!!!! i have JUST installed this version of windows. It's working verry fast , i just love it , BUT it does not pass Windows Genuine Advantage.
Can you help me ,eXPer1ence ?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings from Romania.

radikll (2009-09-07)

No longer passes WGA (Windows Genuinely Anal).
Just a heads up for all of you. Might be better to install Tiny7 or something.

fekkly (2009-09-18)

To bypass WGA checks, do a search for files with *wga* like:
wgaLogon.dll
WgaNotify.cat
WgaTray.exe
and rename them to something like
wgaLogon-old.dll
WgaNotify-old.cat
WgaTray-old.exe

furtherdown (2009-09-20)

Just wanted to post my thoughts after installing and using this for a couple of weeks.
I don't recommend this to anyone. I know there are a few different options you can choose, but all of them are missing some key components in Windows that make functionality of other components fail. I've never had such a bad experience after installing my drivers and programs. Some drivers break things on this version that they never did before. For instance, I installed Skype and my sound is all fucked up now. Steam doesn't work properly without at least a basic installation of IE. Personally, I don't use IE at all so I wanted to try the version without it. Oh well. My eSATA drive has intermittent problems with this version. It's there and then it's not. Never had that happen before. I'm going to play it safe and go back to a regular installation of Windows XP SP3 without IE 7 and WMP 11.
Maybe this will work for some of you out there, but it's been nothing but a headache for me. It even seems to run a bit slower than an untouched original Windows XP SP3 install.
I've slipstreamed and nLite'd my own version that works without fail. Try doing that yourself, nothing compares with doing it yourself. Try an untouched version of SP3 and use nLite or one of the myriad other programs out there. Good luck.

Sektion8 (2009-09-22)

This software is AWESOME. Spent an entire weekend trying to make my own flavour with nLiteOS, and after hours (each time too!) the OS was screwed in some way. This Just Works. Absolute genius work on display here! Now installed on 4 old banger laptops, makes them run like machines 2-3 years newer than they are.

newbie512 (2009-09-25)

It worked fine for me.
Easy strait forward setup
I am not sure how it isn't working for some people.

newbie512 (2009-09-27)

How do I change my desktop background in this thing.
I Installed the 3rd option and It wont let me Put a desktop background on.

fuwad84 (2009-11-25)

FinalCylon (2009-12-09)

This WGA fix works for TinyXP (at least when done immediately after initial installation):
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/5083181/Microsoft_Genuine_Advantage_Validation_v4_By_ChattChitto

That file will set off trojan alerts in many antivirus programs, e.g., Avira. I think it's simply because it's an "evil" program that overwrites system files, but I don't know for sure.
Once that fix is run, you won't need to run the WGA installation in Windows Update. Probably it works, but I don't know.

dragooney (2010-03-08)

hey guys...there is not need for this to pass WGA. Just us www.autopatcher.com Which download all windows updates.

creste (2010-05-03)

What a crock of shit, not to mention a waste of a perfectly good CD. This so called OS is a fucking joke. I'm going back to XP.

xairos (2010-08-13)

Hey all, sorry for what may be a stupid question. I burned an image of this to a DVD+R with Brasero, but it won't work as a boot disc. It just goes black then my ubuntu OS boots up. What did I do wrong?

mibsyps (2010-10-23)

hi, thankx a lot for this, works excellent without a problem... an old notebook is back in the game...
there´s why I´ve seeded your great work nearly five hours...

The_master_Cylinder (2010-11-06)

******* T R O J A N W A R N I N G *******
I previously wrote a kind word of this program and the maker, "Tiny". I was fooled.
The fact is, is there are multiple trojans inside this program AND ALL OF TINY'S PROGRAMS that I downloaded, that don't show up until the ISO is extracted and scanned, or the program is installed and a competent anti-virus program is run ( Like Kasperski) or unless a FULL anti-virus scan is made on the COMPLETE system that the ISO has been downloaded to AND THAT VIRUS SOFTWARE HAS SOFTWARE TO FIND TROJANS , SPYWARE, ADDWARE, ETC....
I said before that TINY is very smart, and that I still contend, but his/her actions here are for personal or profitable gain ONLY!
People who make programs like trojans & viruses are either just sick individuals who like the personal joy of knowing their programs are a menice and they get a kind of high because of their intelect or are paid by companies to create them to force your browser to look to their websites. There are even those who think Anti-Virus software companies create them to sell their software to fight them.

HERE IS A QUOTE FROM :
http://www.securelist.com/en/descriptions/Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Binder.afp.

TOJAN TYPE: Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Binder

Trojan-Dropper programs are designed to secretly install malicious programs built into their code to victim computers.
This type of malicious program usually save a range of files to the victim’s drive (usually to the Windows directory, the Windows system directory, temporary directory etc.), and launches them without any notification (or with fake notification of an archive error, an outdated operating system version, etc.).
Such programs are used by hackers to:
* secretly install Trojan programs and/or viruses
* protect known malicious programs from being detected by antivirus solutions; not all antivirus programs are capable of scanning all the components inside this type of Trojans.
It was Kasperski 2010 that I initially scanned the file with after I downloaded it, and found nothing. It wasn't until a full system scan was made that took over 9 hours . I then burned the ISO to disk then scanned the disk in the drive with kasperski and found the same trojans.
DO NOT SEED DO NOT DOWNLOAD

labroue32 (2011-03-31)

you may not like the idea, but based on this one i have built (with the years) another one,
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6273384/tinyxp-se.iso

rev09 is just fine, though -- the special edition mostly being an enhancement of multiple minor issues people could have experienced here, in addition to containing some applications (experience did the same thing with rev10, so far as i can see). se though is based on rev09.
that being said, do not stop seeding here, but if you want you can seed the se, too. do what you want. ;)

dragooney (2011-07-24)

This is the best torrent I have ever downloaded. best way to get updates without going through WGA crap is to just use Autopatcher. you can get it from AutoPatcher.com. I installed this on my samsung i5 processor and this baby screams! I did the dual boot so now when i get the laptop on i have two choices of either windows 7 or XP.

dragooney (2011-07-24)

eXPer1ence you will always be a legendary hero. So sad that you are decease. I am deeply in grief. Your work will always be remembered. I have been using rev09 ever since it was uploaded and installed it more than 20 times. TRULY A MASTERPIECE!

lollybolls (2011-08-23)

Thanks experience. This works very well and I've been using it for a number of months. I had to download jellybean keyfinder so I could get the security updates but apart from that no problems at all.

rockandrollloud (2011-08-24)

Can i install this on a system with an ide hard drive and not a sata hard drive. I tried using option 2 but couldnt.

Derragon (2011-11-04)

@rockandrollloud
If you are using a SATA drive and the installer is not recognizing it, you must switch your SATA drive to IDE mode which is done through the BIOS. Generally, there is a a "SATA Controller Configuration" area in the BIOS that will allow you to switch between the modes. One is AHCI, the other is IDE, and you must use IDE unless you have AHCI drivers for your SATA Controller.
Please consult your laptop or motherboard manual if you are unsure of how to do this.
@creste:
Before flaming a torrent, post your issue and request assistance. Your comment shows you're just another idiotic troll. Get a life, and gtfo. Thanks.
@The_master_Cylinder:
The countless number of people who apparently disagree with you make your argument invalid. If you're the only one who's found a bunch of viruses in this, you obviously don't know what you're doing. I just did a scan on the whole ISO unpacked and there were no warnings.

This is an excellent contribution. There are no viruses or other malware. I checked each file against a standard XP using the Win98 System File Checker and SysInternals Rootkit Revealer. The files are clean.
I love the unattended installation. System boots up very fast. The only bug I found is it will not automatically connect to shared drives during boot no matter what settings you have. The cure is to make a small batch file with the following lines:
@echo off
start net use y: \VBOXSVRWin98
Point it to wherever your shared drive is.
Call this during startup. The single line batch file normally flashes a box on the screen but it is so brief during bootup that you don't even see it. But now your shared drives will be connected and your can use them right away.
Thanks for such an excellent program!!!

NoDoh (2013-01-12)

A problem occurs with TinyXP when running in VirtualBox. The installation cannot see the LAN. The solution is extremely easy. You do not have to waste hours trying to find a PCNet driver. The one you need is already installed, and all you have to do is disable the current one and select the new one. Here's how, courtesy of Matt at Wolfe Web Services. It also works on Ubuntu 10.04

Fixing TinyXP in Virtualbox 3.1.2 on Ubuntu 9.10 host

Ubuntu
Virtualbox
Windows XP
If you are web developer who prefers to use linux, but must (for the
most unfortunate of reasons) test with IE6, then virtualbox has
probably become your friend.
There is a known, very lightweight image you can find around the
interwebs called TinyXP which is a virtualbox image of windows XP.
It has been fine tuned (from what I can tell) to be very lightweight
and fast, and even has some nice right click shortcuts (for instance
when right clicking on My Computer you get extra options I've never
seen before).
The only problem I had with TinyXP is that the driver that came with
it was not compatible with the network card used by Virtualbox 3.1.
I have another Windows XP virtualbox image which works just fine
using the PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973) Adapter chosen in the Virtualbox
Network settings for my virtual machine image, as shown below:
While on my other XP image this network setup works fine, on the new
TinyXP image I was getting a driver problem in the windows Device
Manager as shown below:
To fix this problem you'll need to switch to another driver. The
driver should already be on your system so don't worry, you won't
need to download anything.
To do this you will need to right click on the network adapter shown
in the previous screen and choose "Update Driver..."
From there you will be asked if you want to check windows update for
the driver, Choose "No, not this time"
From there you'll be prompted to install automatically or from a
specific location, choose to install from a list or specific
location:
When asked on the next page whether to search or Don't Search,
choose:
Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install.
Not quite, done. One more step:
you'll now be asked to select a nework adapter (Make sure "Show
Compatible devices" is checked).
Choose "AMD PCNET Family PCI Ethernet Adapter" and click next
Your NIC should now be functioning correctly.

seen before).

The viruses these people are mentioning are probably from tools that remove passwords. They often set off false alarms.
