Works great straight out of the box. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.
The Nero setup file needs to restart the computer which was a bit irritating, but after that the installer continued and it was all smooth sailing.
There are two files provided. The first is the Nero setup and the other is a little text file. The text file is aptly named 'Readme!.txt' with very clear installation instructions and a working serial number.

I installed it on a vista 32 bits...and had big time issue...I installed it and when I shut the computer down it gave me the blue screen of death...rebooted and still the same..and pc was acting bad..really slow and windows didn't want to work..not sure if it wasn't compatible with my pc..also messed up my avg virus system so I had to reconfigure it.. had bad experience with this software and my pc..then I uninstalled it and now my computer working fine..I am not saying is not good just that I had big issues and won't recommend because of this. I will trash the thing out.

Excellent...works perfectly. For those of you who still cannot read a readme.txt file:
1- Disable your network adapter.
2- Run the install.
3- Reboot to continue the install.
4- Select a custom install.
5- Disable Nero Updates.
6- After install, register with the key provided in the readme.
7- At first launch, deselect the checkbox and click close.
8- Open your firewall and under advanced settings, create a new rule, browse to the path for nero.exe and block all access for that program.
9- DONE. Easy as pie.

Shutting down your internet connection ain't enough, at least it wasn't for me.
Disconnect internet, install, restart your computer and continue the instalment. When you've got to chose between auto-install or manual install, be sure you click the manual install.
Then unselect the 'nero update', and proceed.
After I installed the software this way, everything worked just fine!!

This is to confirm this version works on Windows 7 X86 as well as on Windows 7 X64.
It's a stripped version of Nero. It only contains the BurningROM app. Use this one if you want / can do without the other Nero apps of the suite.
