If you're having trouble in the beginning, the only advice I have is that remember to save ammo, which means, keep punching and kicking the enemies. Also, if there are too many enemies to handle, run, and find a better place to take care of them. Also, make good use of the explosive and flammable barrels. Oh, and if you are low on ammo, health and money, you can always replay the earlier chapters too.
I have one question btw, and I hope of someone could answer this. Is it possible to play this in LAN with Hamachi? And is it possible to play this, or the RELOADED version online, if you make an online profile to LIVE?

Works great. Too bad it's just an average game.
It's not scary... not one bit. There's no tension, or anything remotely creepy. Nothing ever jumps out at you, and there are cutscenes warning you of practically every enemy attack.
Your partner is stupid and gets in the way. She won't even sidestep to let you past in tight spaces, so expect some annoyances while being bludgeoned to death. I think her only purpose is to burn through ammo like there's no tomorrow.
You can't fucking move while shooting, or even reloading... whose bright idea was that? I don't care if the originals were that way; that was because of console limitations at the time... why cripple a modern DX10 game just to make it feel retro? Do you know how annoying it is to get chainsawed apart because you're glued to the fucking ground trying to do something as BASIC as reload? Why should I have to run and hide just to do something I could do on the move? Why can't I even walk while aiming? People say it "adds to the realism". To that, I say: Fuck you, you fucking idiot. I'm glad you're not training our SWAT teams.
I have no idea what they were thinking... this was their big chance to evolve beyond Playstation One, and they royally fucked it. Fanboys will be the downfall of this franchise because they refuse to let it evolve.
I beat it, and can say I'm glad I didn't pay for it. I tried STALKER first, and bought it immediately. Now THAT game has atmosphere, and my full financial support.

this file setup.bat is batch, written by hands. there are several mistakes in this batch file, whitch make installation freezing. first mistake is on 36th row:
precomp -odata.zip -r data.pcf >nul
this -o tells to precomp wat to do with data.zip.
just put space between them. stupid mistake!!
precomp -o data.zip -r data.pcf >nul
there are 4 same mistakes with other data files. some ppl will find this usefull :P

The over-the-shoulder perspective causes your avatar to constantly block a third of the screen (at least on a 4:3 screen).
clumsy inventory handling and strange level design: You actually need a key to open a door where anyone would normally just slip past.

It's working fine for me. If anyone who have old computer want to try, download "Resident Evil 5 Benchmark Utility" and try different settings. FPS isn't important, because i was getting 15-20fps at benchmark utility but game was running smoothly even at high settings with 4xAA. My specs are P4 3.0Ghz, 1GB Ram, 8600GT Sonic+ and i'm using Windows 7. As i said, i'm playing now and it's running smoothly.
If you get xlive.dll missing error it means you didn't install Games for Windows Live. This program is needed to play the game.
Also you don't need serial or windows live account to save the game. When it asks you to create profile click yes. Then create new profile > offline profile at Games for Windows Live screen. Now you can save your progress. Have fun.

This torrent reminds me of a Skullptura Rip. It works good except for a few of the beginning cutscene videos were busted and I had to find a way to bypass that stupid Windows Live shit because it wouldn't save my games. Everything else though seems to be working 100% so I give this torrent a 9/10.

i got it working. for some reason it took 40 minutes for the command prompt routine to work. i went and had dinner and it still hadn't finished. thanks for the up. i find the game a little weird to play. they send you into africa without even a pistol?. wt?. and then you have to deal with 20 zombies and a grandma walking pace?. bizarre weapon settings too. over the shoulder style leaves aiming too sensitive. i never missed a head shot from point blank so many times in my life. very uncomfortable. but the game is beautiful to look at.

game play is good minus a lot of the voices or they're so low you can't hear them at all, same with the movie parts, you can hear everything else but the voices. It's good to be able to play a game but it'd be a lot better to be able to follow the story along with it as well.. hey for everyone having trouble at startup. Extract files to new location open setup.bat, when tptb starts hit esc. Wait until first part finishes, then it will start extracting this will take a while i got a pretty fast computer and mine took forever but just remember how long the download took and it wont seem as long lol.

Its easy to install the best thing to do is make a copy of re5 fold place it onto your desktop then open and click setup.bat the reason for the copied folder is if you run the setup.bat and it get interrupted and you try again it wont overwrite the files thats its just created thus cause you the errors. Also you dont have to run the tptb file

Some help for New Installers.
1.Just unzip the main File
2.No need to unzip Bin, or Mov.zip etc
3.After you run Setup.bat press escape to close the advertisement user interface otherwise the setup wont start.
4.it will take a long time to install. maybe up to an hour dependingon system
5.Someone commented on changeing the programming of Setup.bat file (-odata to -o data...) dont do that, might corrupt the setup.

For all you guys who's having a hard time to play this game. FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. EXTRACT THE RESIDENT EVIL ARCHIVE(BOOKS)
2. OPEN THE FOLDER THAT NAMED RESIDENT EVIL5
3. RUN SETUP.BAT
4. WAIT THE EXTRACTION. IT WILL STUCK IN 5% BUT IT'S NORMAL. YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR 30 - 45 MINS.
5. WHEN THE DIRECT X AND WINDOWS LIVE APPEARS, INSTALL BOTH OF THEM
6. PLAY THE GAME!

thx dude, the game works for me, almost finished it now. Just follow the instructions in the comments...for me I disabled something in msconfig *after the installation* and the reinstalled the ms netframe 3.5 sp1. install the the win live app once the you play offline in singleplayer. i have win7 x64 good luck dude

Doesn't work... Installed as instructed but after trying to run the .exe it says that xlive.dll is missing. So i downloaded xlive.dll then it said that another .dll is missing so i installed games for windows live... Now it gives me an error message when trying to run the .exe again; The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.
Also couldn't find any kind of a solution from anywhere...(directx is up to date, as well as everything else.) Oh and btw i tried even a crack... But suprisingly enough didn't work, still gives me that application start error. So does anybody else get this error thingmabob?

For all the idiot retards who say this doesnt work, it does. The reason it is half the size is because it is a Zip file, meaning it is compressed. The Xlive error you get is the XBOX Live program missing on your PC. Go Download GFWL (Games For Windows Live), install it. When RE5 asks you for a serial say no. Create a profile, make an offline account, and use that. That will let you save and play Co-Op on Lan. Nothing is ripped. Hey, is there any way of playing Co-op through lan here, I mean, via tunngle?
I could see some rooms while playing, giving priority to the Tunngle, and then entered the game. I could see some rooms, but I couldn't connect to'em. I'm going to try it with a friend of mine wich I'm sure that has this version, and then we'll see. Hope anyone can say anything 'bout this?

I tested, and worked. I couldn't enter no one's room, but only my friend's one. And, well, it worked, at least. If'm right, you need to have the same version. And, there's some bugs, sometimes, but nothing really importante. Just close and open the game. Oh, I had to use one archive that TeknoGods made, to give priority to Tunngle. Only this way you can see rooms through tunngle. Just search for his forum and download the archive. Its a .reg archive.

Hey Shroo. I downloaded this file, and it appeared to install correctly. I got the splash screen to play and the game loaded up just fine. In fact I was at the loading screen where they're going on about Umbrella's History, etc. Then, I would get minimized and hit with a fatal error called something like "Failed to Open File - omcartridge.arc '2' " and the game just boots back to desktop. Is there any work around for this, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

if possible download resident evil 5 registry file and paste into the resident file 5 folder

RE4 was the worst. It wasn't even "survival" horror, it was just run & gun with practically unlimited ammunition. In the version I played I couldn't even strafe. Pathetic...
This one is similar, and it feels a lot like dead space, but at least it has co-op.

Biohazard 4 (Port of PS2 Game Resident Evil 4 to PC by lazy ass developers) is one of my best 3rd person shooter played to date along with deadspace 1+2 and gears of war and mass effect series.
From what you said,
Yes the games controls were HARD coz of the bloody lazy ass port no mouse support and aiming with keyboard hell no way to even change controls , worse than DMC 3 port to pc that was done with shyt graphics.
No, ammo even for the pistol was HORRIBLY limited most of the time I was running with the damn knife.
Yes because of the bloody port strafe wasnt possible while it WAS in Ps2 version but dont worry the nintendo version was WORSE than PC it had 2 weapons >.>
PS2 version was ported to PC then that PC version was ported to nintendo. Fuck capcom

Just gonna list some problems i experience which some other users might do so too:
1) uninstalling the game: Just delete the whole folder from which u install the file.
2) while installing the file: after clicking "setup.bat", a black window and "tphp.exe" will show. Just close "tphp.exe" and the installation will proceed.
3) install location: unzip into desired location and click "setup.bat". It will be the location in which ur game will install to.
4) haha...and yes trainer do work with this version.
