You have two options. Buy dual layer dvd-r's OR shrink the dvd with a program like dvdshrink.
If you don't care about things like menus, anti piracy adds, extras ect. and you only want the movie you can re-author the dvd and you might get 100% video quality of the original dvd-9 copy.
Subtitles and different audio works if you use a remote to enable them.
