Relative unknowns here in the UK? I remember when this album came out they were heavily marketed as the next Duran Duran. They had ads in the NME, Melody Marker, No.1, Smash Hits ... I remember them as having one of the biggest marketing campaigns of the 80s that flopped. It was the same way they pushed Curiosity Killed The Cat as the next Duran Duran. The public just didn t buy into it with Passion Puppets.

The Passion Puppets were signed to Stiff Records (MCA in USA) in the eighties released an album 'Beyond the pale' and three singles 'Like Dust', 'Beyond the Pale' & 'Voices'. They were based in Camden Town, North London. They played most of the venues of the time and supported 'Paul Young' on his 'No Parlez' tour and 'The Psychedelic Furs' on the 'Mirror moves' tour. They appeared on many TV shows including 'Rock 'n' the Dock' an hour 'in concert' on channel four.

cF, yes I remember the NME banging on about the PPs, a bit like they did with The Big Dish, however, they were still relative unknowns here in the UK as far as I'm concerned. Not many of us bought their records anyway.

Yes, that is true. A lot of people heard of them, but not many bought the record. I remember seeing the video over a hundred times. I can still see the Like Dust Vid in my minds eye.

Actually the CD was reissued by Almacantar in 2006, that's when I took the opportunity to buy it.
