Many thanks!

What software was used to rip these tracks to wav? Because even ripping from CDA to wav usually causes some degradation. However, some software minimises this (e.g. EAC).
A little info would be welcome.

Done some research on this version. Not the holy grail. Pressed to CD with 1983 digital technology (in other words: not good). The 1987 official EMI pressing is better.

DeadEndMan (2012-04-20)

@LezDawson - Your research sucks. This is indeed one of the first CDs ever made...and the only Beatles album made from a flat transfer of the master tape. They put a lot of care into it, because it was supposed to be a demonstration of CD technology. It's certainly better than the shoddy 1987 version (which was done with pretty much the same technology, but with less care). It's more of a judgment call with the 2009 remaster, which was done with state-of-the-art equipment and techniques, but which was slightly limited and had a noticeable EQ boost in the bass regions. Still, this CD routinely goes for high prices to collectors, who hold it to be the most-faithful CD version of this album. If you're in doubt, check out somewhere like the Steve Hoffman forums and search for "abbey road black triangle."

This is indeed one of the best transfers of this album. But the question is whether or not "pre-emphasis" was used when the cd being ripped? IF not, then its no better than what's around.

Nice, sounds better than the 2009 remasters.

jimijustin (2014-02-11)

Jesus! All of you need to do some research! It is a pre emphasis cd! You have to flag it with eac when making a cdr. If your playing this back from your digital file you will need something like Foobar with the convolver plug in to off set the pre-emp. And did someone really ask what was EAC? There is a thing called a search engine. Learn to use it. How the fuck did you guys figure out how to use a torrent client? Are you like idiot savants or something?
