Description:

TV Special for Red Dead Redemption, the popular game recently released by Rockstar. This weekend John Hillcoat (the director of The Proposition and The Road) bring us his 20+ minutes short film of Red Dead Redemption. Using the game as his media Hollcoat will bring viewers the story of John Marston. *********************************************************************************** "Home" of my torrents (for Bookmark/Favorites in your browser) http://thepiratebay.se/user/twentyforty NOTE: 272p = frame-size 480x272 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio, playable on all kinds of MP4 capable devices/players/playback systems 360p = frame-size 640x360 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio, middle-format, playback as for 272p (except streaming) 480p = frame-size 720x480 pixels for 16:9 aspect ratio (TV) or 720x304 for 2.35:1 (movies/theatrical AR) 720p = frame-size 1280x720 pixels for 16:9 aspect ratio (TV) or 1280x544 for 2.35:1 (movies/theatrical AR), hardware intensive Most problems people have are with frame-sizes 1280x720 (720p). I recommend and have used one system for years - CoreCodec for H264 ("Deblocking" set to "Standard") and part of DivX7 for AAC. Both are proved perfect, fastest and provide seamless playback up to 1080p on new generation of computers. Newer NVIDIA graphic cards processors (GPU) decode H264 using dedicated subroutines directly served from CoreCodec (I have an ATI card, just in case you were wondering). Problems one can have may come from either one of the following and/or a combination of these – the playback system itself, a malfunctioning device or lack of knowledge. For instance, any so called "jerky" playback of "system-heavy" 720p comes from insufficient CPU and graphic engine power or simply - overloaded computer. Use of ddshow filters and "codecs" is suicidal. This is not Russian 720p Matroska format ("official" 720p) and completely different setup is required (extremely high bit-rates of .mkv 720p to some extent "hide" bad encoding style). In low bit-rate H264, such as mine, those errors and bad technique cannot be hidden and therefore are avoided as much as possible. Any 'blurriness' of video comes from less-than-recommended media player. VLC and a few other players are the most versatile and, generally speaking, good - but quality is 10-20% lower. Any ‘blockiness’ comes from 'system-too-slow' situation, when decoding engine of ones device become over-capacitated and cannot process all frames as it supposed to. On "I have no video" and "I have no sound" I don't waste my time as this is generally a complete lack of knowledge and/or understanding. RTFM is the best response I can give. MP4 is absolutely ISO 14496-1 compliant. There are no B-frames, no CABAC entropy in 272p and 360p, no strange filtering and no AV weirdness of any kind. Recommended resolution for computers is 1024x768 (no matter frame-size). PS3 + HDMI cable + newer TV have been reported as best combination. I am very proud on sound quality and hence I recommend use of stereo system and proper loudspeakers (connect Line Out of Soundcard or standalones with Line In of any Stereo rack). I encode H264 for six years and I have experienced (first-hand) any problem one might have or imagine. I have heard almost every ‘complaint’ out there and would, if asked POLITELY, be happy to answer questions and give as much help as humanly possible I always have.

@Stev: LOL, yes, Jon had and wrote about - but with The Losers. He provided me with few links, when I have seen Cinavia crap for the first time. It was maybe month ago and meanwhile no none has found safe and repeatable way to remove it from audio (where Cinavia is deeply embedded). Only Sony produced titles are affected and only playback on Sony BluRay capable devices. You've been punk'd by beloved Sony because last update was about adding that shit to PS3 firmware.

nice. thanks, 2040.

@ Stev
RE: Cinavia
As 20-40 said, I got caught by this latest DRM type Sony crap.
I'm sure you've found out that it's built into the audio which is a pretty neat trick by Sony. Have to give them credit for being orginal pricks.
Only way, besides PC watching, is to watch on non-Sony BR product. I used ConvertXtoDVD and watched on standalone (& not on-line) DVD player.
I'm sure this will pop up more and more but the great thing is that someone will eventually hack it and everyone benefits, i.e. another small step forward in progamming/coding etc.
Boring myself now.
Cheers
Jon

@Stev & Jon:
I haven't said something (because I knew that Jon is short in traffic allowance and probably hate RomComs and I wasn't aware of Stev's problem with Robin), but - "The Back-Up Plan" is ...Sony produced title. So, I tried something, but not knowing if the title is infected with Cianavia at all.
LOL... nobody said something and I am unable to find or test or verify removal 'cause I don't have any Sony product in my house.

i'm new to the world of torrent downloading and i finally found the 'write comment' link on tpb pages haha... i love your super-compressed editions of all my fav shoz&flix (playback on my samsung-lcd w/ps3@home and samsung omniaHD on'the'go :) used to set prefs to limit upload speeds not knowing proper torrent ettiqutte, but after reading comments about sharing i've reset bit'torrent to unlimited upload and will seed all files for a month after i download (watch alotta stuff, so eventually gotta transfer files to external drive for comp memory reasons) thanks so much 2040 for all your hard work making the world a more entertaining place for all to enjoy! (i'm an indian medstudent who grewup watching american media and is now forced to wait months later to view usa releases through traditional sources)

ps- since this red.dead.redemption comments section hasnt mentions actual file-worthyness yet i'll add... half-hour episode created inside the gameplay world (basically its a cowboy western version of grand theft auto, havent played it yet but ordered online before watching this special :)
