It doesnt worky,,,get it. Research on doom9 if you want to sucseed. Stay away from the VC-1 and AVI files on these 1080ps if your a newb. Download the smallest video file on high priority,see if it works.ABOVE ALL post your findings here,,,good or bad.

First, you need HDTVPump:

And then (At least for any HD-DVD releases by HDTV_CHINA i have) you need Matroska Splitter

You will also need to have a MPEG2 decoder previously installed. NVIDIA's works. If you can play a DVD - chances are you have a valid decoder.
Install those and report back!

Expanding on what xFred wrote, for me, for the VC-1 encoded torrents, I didn't need an MPEG-2 decoder, nor HDTV Pump.
I did need the Windows Media codecs capabile of decoding VC-1 (a Microsoft codec). To get those, the easiest way was to install WMP11 and Windows Media Format 11 SDK (google for it, Microsoft download).
I also needed the latest version of MatroskaSplitter. Make sure you don't have the one installed w/ CCCP, as it didn't work for me.
On OSX, these play natively w/ MPlayer (and only MPlayer), but you'll need to compile the latest from SVN and pass -vc ffvc1 on the command line to mplayer.

I've done everything listed nothing. I've viewed HDTV China's releases before so I don't think they are MPAA fakes, but every tool I've used says there is no MPEG2 Stream. I've tried 2k, XP, OSX, media player classic, vlc, wmp11+sdk, video Redo, NOTHING plays any video. The link for codec downloads fails to complete.
IF the codec works, please include it in the torrent. Thanks.

arny000, thanks. But not too much better : after installing FinalCodecs now I have only audio. No video :( Moreover, I guess they might be incompatible, because audio is playing straight : i can't forward/rewind/search on track.
Before installing FinalCodecs, should I uninstall hdtvpump and/or haali splitter? Something else might be wrong?
Also I've got VideoLAN, and it's the first time I see it cannot play the .ts file correctly.

Look ,marcusmae. I installed clean copy of winxp64 then i've installed windows media player 11 and then finalcodecs. Also I set mpeg2 splitter to Haali, Mpeg2 v.decoder to nVidia and mpeg2 a.decoder to ffdshow. And in my player(windows classic player) all was fine.
if you'd like to hear dolby digital sound via external dolby decoder you need to put mark in ffdshow audio decoder configuration->output on ac3

For Mac users: I was able to use ffmpegX to convert the TS files to MOV files. Then they play with Quicktime and VLC. MPlayer was able to give me the audio, but no video. If anyone can tell me how to play them without the long conversion process, I'd love to hear it.

Also, the video is a little bit choppy. I have a 17' MacBook Pro with 4 gigs of ram, so I don't think it is my hardware. Does anyone know a better format to convert to. Divx looked like crap.

You shouldn''t need to convert anything. When you are done compiling, run mplayer with "-vc ffvc1" and the filename.
